Fun and spacious

The house was beautiful and had plenty of space for all of us. The only complaint was how many bugs and spiders were in the house, mostly in the bathrooms, luckily not in the bedrooms. We had a great stay!

Very nice house

It was a great place for friends to relax together. Next time we plan to stay there again and spend more time at the house to enjoy it more.

Spacious and comfy

Nice home. A bit outdated but was pretty clean. It did have a strong musty smell but nothing room freshener couldn’t help. Main floor is super spacious

Great stay

Got back to reality today and I miss this home and Galena already , every was great with the house , a couple of minor fixes such as the patio screen door and a little dusting and it’s good to go . No major complaints at all . The owners were communicative and it made it very easy .

Family gathering

Have been visiting family in galena for years, and this time decided to rent a home rather then stay with family. This home was beautiful and spacious. The downstairs had a bit of a mildew smell, but the home was very clean. Communication was easy and quick! Would rent again!

Nice property in a quiet area

Large house with many rooms and bathrooms. Able to accommodate our group of 5 women. Wish we could have stayed longer. The only suggestion I have would be to have a fire pit. That would have been perfect. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely come back here

Everything we needed but..

Loved the place everything we needed . Only complaint was the upstairs master had a lot of Asian beetles in it . Was woke up a few times from them crawling on me in the bed . I understand they are a nuisance but in the winter should be vacuumed out before we stay .

Liked the place so much we came back with our adult kids.

We have stayed at this property in the past with a group of friends. We liked it so much we decided to give our adult kids and their significant other a weekend getaway with us at your property. They loved it!! Unfortunately it looks like it needs a little TLC to make it an amazing property. Overall though we enjoyed it and would come back again for sure!

Perfect Stay

If you like rustic, this is the place for you! Absolutely gorgeous view of the hills around us. The place is a bit dated, but for a night stay for myself and my kids to celebrate Christmas, it couldn't have been better! It's a little dark inside, but was a perfect setting with the Christmas tree and decor. The hot tub was awesome at night, and it was even snowing both nights and could as could be, as we had a cold front come through. We'd definitely return and would like to stay in the spring. Possibly do every Christmas there! Just a fun, cozy place!

BEAUTIFUL SCENERY & OWNERS CLUB AMENITIES

Huge house (wouldn't EVER refer to it as a "resort"). Let's start w/ the GOOD: The views are BREATHTAKING! The hot tub on the deck was SO important lol (we all needed the pre-sleep calm from it), The wood-burning fireplace inside the combined living/dining room & open kitchen area was PERFECT for the nightly country chill. The Owners Club amenities are FABULOUS!!!! Outdoor & indoor pools, play areas, ample parking, access to boat rentals, etc. at the marina (we rented a pontoon our last day, highlight of our weekend). Here's the not so good: the cleanliness of the interior left much to be desired. Spider webs everywhere, our son's toy rolled under the master bed and when I looked underneath, I slightly gasped., stove wasn't clean enough that smells from food remnants, etc. on burners caused heavy burning odors. The bed linens smelled, not sure like what, but it wasn't pleasant. All in all, okay place to stay. Don't expect luxury, bring a few of your own bath towels (plus pool towels, if needed for your use), a sheet set for each bed that will be occupied, bring dishwashing liquid and/or dishwashing machine detergent.

Great time

We had a wonderful short Memorial Day stay! The great room was roomy and comfortable and we spent our time together there, and the master bedroom was lovely. Our teens enjoyed the hot tub. Thanks for a great place!

Listing was very accurate and exactly what we expected when we got there !

The property was perfect for our little getaway, there was an ice storm all weekend which made the driveway a little tough to navigate but they had someone out salting it right away. No WiFi was the only complaint we could have which we knew going there wasn’t any, so not really a complaint just a suggestion!

Exactly as described

Property was exactly as described. 4 bedrooms and a large great room offer plenty of space for spending time together or time apart. Lack of WiFi and poor cell signal was disappointing but also as described. Don’t choose the loft bedroom if you don’t like the sun to wake you up in the morning—curtains are not blackout. Narrow gravel driveway somewhat hard to maneuver/park—but again, that was as shown in the pics. Worked well for our girls getaway weekend.

Rustic

If you are up for a rustic getaway, this is your place. We came with two other couples plus kids and had a blast. Yes the ceiling leaked and there were spiders and centipedes but there was more quality time with friends, laughs, meals shared and joy to be had by all.

Large open floor plan

This house fit our needs perfectly. Large living room with working wood burning fireplace was just what our getaway group was looking for. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything we needed to cook several meals. The house is not new, but it is in great shape ... has a large amount of wood which is shown in the pictures ... made it nice and cozy on a cool, rainy early fall weekend. The home sits on a very large lot and while you can see other houses they were quite far away which made it nice and private. We even used the hot tub on the deck in-between rain showers. The owners were quick to respond to all of my pre-trip questions. The only downside was not having internet at the home. I would stay there again.
