The Waterfield Place is a lovely 8 person home on 5 acres near the Outer Banks.

The Waterfield Place is in the heart of mainland Currituck County, an area known as a 'Sportsman's Paradise' and is only a 10 minutes drive from the OUTER BANKS and less than 5 minutes from the H2OBX WATERPARK. It offers 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The master suite holds a queen and 2 twins with an adjoining bath. Two bedrooms are on the second floor with a queen in one room and two twins in the other. These rooms share a bath. The large living room and kitchen areas offer the perfect amount of convenience and privacy along with a sun room where one might enjoy morning coffee. On the 5 acres of grounds, there is a stocked pond with a fountain pump, plenty of room for parking, and 'Waterfield's Garage' which is a picnic area with kitchenette, bar area, half bath, outdoor grill, and carport. This is a perfect place to unwind after a day of outdoor activities. An outdoor kennel area is available for pets; however, pets are NOT allowed in the main house. The house was charming, the yard was beautiful, very clean and cozy. Beds were a little uncomfortable and noisy. Love the pond but wish there were fishing poles. You couldn’t tell from inside the house that it is on a busy road. Would definitely stay again.

Three days stay at the property

We enjoyed our stay at the property, which has a big yard, including extra game room, and small pond to relax, the location is idea to navigate around the area of outer banks.

Great value, comfortable, and clean

This home is obviously not the most modern, but it is extremely clean, comfortable and true to the pictures provided. Overall, the value was excellent! 15-20 minutes away from the beach and Walmart. 20-60 minutes from most major OBX towns (northern and southern) since it is centrally located. It was such a nice place to come “home” to after a long day at the beach / exploring OBX attractions. We cooked most of our meals in the spacious kitchen and on the outdoor grill, enjoyed watching movies in the living room, and used the fire pit to make s’mores. Towels, sheets, and starter cleaning supplies and paper goods (TP, paper towels) are provided. We brought our own coffee machine, which I recommend doing if you’re picky, but aside from that the kitchen was well stocked and the dishwasher was 10/10. The host is very friendly and professional. The property has been in her family for a few decades and there is a sense of pride felt throughout the home, which is rare to find in short term rentals. I highly recommend staying here if you prioritize cleanliness, comfort, and practical amenities and don’t want to spend a fortune.

We absolutely loved staying at the Waterfield Place! It was our second stay and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Our favorite was fishing in the pond. Will definitely be back another year!

Returning guest, still as nice

This is our second stay here and won’t be our last. It is spacious, clean, and well cared for. It’s a quick ride to the bridge over to Southern Shores and Kitty Hawk, and drivable to most anywhere - we even made it down to Hatteras. Home is well stocked and beds were super comfy. Highly recommend!

Wonderful stay!

Wonderful stay at a family friendly house with access to all the Outer Banks has to offer. Clean with plenty of space to spread out and lots to do if you have any down time. A cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Thank you for helping us have a wonderful first trip to the Outer Banks! Hope to go back some day!

Convenient

The house is very convenient to Corolla beach and Duck, etc. It is directly on a busy road, though. The home is dated but is nice. Some upgrades we would recommend would be more cookware and dishes and improved tv options. The white fence at the driveway entrance definitely helps making find the property easy day and night.

The well-kept grounds offered a picturesque setting, with lush greenery and manicured landscapes that added to the overall charm of the property. We thoroughly enjoyed the basketball hoop and outdoor games, which provided endless entertainment for our family. The hosts truly went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. One of the highlights of our visit was the serene pond on the property. It was a delight to spend leisurely afternoons fishing and relaxing. The exceptional communication from the host further enhanced our experience. From the moment we made our reservation until our departure, they were prompt, friendly, and attentive to our needs. Their genuine care and dedication to ensuring our stay was exceptional truly stood out. Overall, our time at Powells Point was truly unforgettable, thanks to the outstanding property and the incredible hospitality we received. We cannot wait to return.

Wonderfully stay

Easy access to OBX fun, but not in the heart of the tourism and traffic. Watch for the barn wasps! But enjoy the wonderful pond and turtles!

The property was originally owned by Herbert Lee Waterfield. An avid duck hunter and fisherman, Herbert Lee was well-known for his generosity and larger-than-life presence. He was never afraid to improve upon what he had: he reclaimed two of the three acres of open land on the Waterfield grounds, and left the remaining swamp and marshland for wildlife habitat. His idea to turn the garage to a picnic area led to many years of cookouts and happy memories for his family.

The house has now passed to a new generation, and we keep Herbert Lee's memories and ideals in mind with the Waterfield Place. Much of the hunting paraphernalia in the home belonged to Herbert Lee, and if you ask around you'll find many locals still remember him. We live up to the ideal of always improving, so we strive to make the Waterfield Place the most efficient, most comfortable getaway in the area.
