Ever stay all night in a brothel? Downtown remodeled 1880's building
Two large windows overlooking Main Street Custer with original 1880s brick walls and original woodwork. Four bedrooms are themed for the history of the era and area. The Generals Room and The Hunters Room are separated by six foot pocket doors. Two additional rooms focus on CM Russell artwork and the Western lifestyle. The VRBO is accessed by 22 steps but leads you to a view of Custer's main street and a part of the city's history. There is a full bathroom and a kitchenette that will allow you to relax, enjoy and revive during your stay. The downstairs provides a full kitchen, two futons and large Smart TV, pool table and keg stools from the old AJ's Ore Car Saloon! There is a fire pit and patio loveseat and 2 chairs on the upper deck and a grill and two full picnic table for the lower gated area. It was the brothel in past years so we have saved the old peep access as well as other finds in our restoration process.

About the neighborhood
Custer
Custer is home to Ever stay all night in a brothel? Downtown remodeled 1880's building . Crazy Horse Memorial is a notable landmark, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Black Hills National Forest and Custer State Park. Needles Highway and Granite Sports are also worth visiting.
Our family made a trip to the Black Hills at the tail end of Sturgis week. This property being right on Main Street Custer really allowed you to see and hear the motorcycles while allowing you to be within walking distance of several ice cream shops, restaurants, and souvenir shops. The overall location of Custer allowed us to visit many of the area attraction by being an hour or less away. The historical building and Main Street location may be a drawback for some but wasn’t for us. Plenty of space, being close to many things, and overall cleanliness and communication were appreciated by our family.
We stayed here for a fun night out with our adult kids. The location is great and the property is really a fun concept. The downstairs is open with a pool table and the upstairs has the bedrooms. The space could use more mirrors in the bedrooms for getting ready since there is only 1 bathroom upstairs. The downstairs could use a little light above the table as it is a dark area. All in all it is a fun space to stay!

Absolutely enjoyed our stay at this property. The historic building had been renovated and still retained its character. The main level was spacious and great for my grandkids to unwind after a busy day. The rooms were large and the beds/pillows were amazing! Especially enjoyed the front bedroom windows looking out over Main Street. We enjoyed a quiet evening on the back deck and the mini kitchen with popcorn on the 2nd floor was a nice touch.
It was great fun being downtown right in the heart of things. We were able to walk to several restaurants in minutes and enjoyed the local shops.
Host was very responsive and provided a great experience. For a unique experience I would definitely recommend this “brothel.”
My family spent 4th of July week at this location. Fun place to stay and perfect location for the 4th of July activities. We were able to watch the parade and fireworks from the bedroom window. Private parking and nice deck and outdoor space. My kids loved the pool table. Owner was friendly, helpful and responded quickly to the few questions we had.
This was a great place to stay right in the middle of town every thing was new and clean, you can easy walk to anywhere in town with many good options for food or drinks Nextdoor or just blocks away. For being in the middle of town at night it’s actually quite quiet not much traffic or people after 8:30pm. It’s a very cool unique location with a lot of space. I would recommend it to anyone interested in visiting the area.

We are South Dakotans that love the Black Hills and history that we want others to experience!
Why they chose this property
This building needed some TLC and upgrades. We gutted the upstairs and added electrical and plumbing as well as refurbishing the downstairs area. Custer has a great history and Mt Rushmore Road has the access to restaurants, shopping and the sights and sounds of Custer.
What makes this property unique
We have saved the transom windows, double pcket doors, a 1921 letter found in the mopboard, the peep hole from the back door and the kegs from the AJ's Ore Car Saloon. We have researched the history of the 1880's building and connected with the 1881 Court House Museum to add to the history of Custer.
