Great rental! Highly recommend!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding and I could not have asked for a better rental property! Despite what others have said, I thought that the apartment was very clean. The owners were extremely accommodating when our flights got moved and we had to rearrange the nights that we were staying. There was also something that was accidentally left at the apartment and the cleaners were very helpful and mailed it back to me. The location was beautiful.. quick walk to the downtown area, but very serene and quiet neighborhood!

Northbrook, IL

Charming and comfortable house.

  • 5 of 5

There was ample room for 3 ladies. The beds and linens were very comfortable. We did not prepare any food in the house except for light breakfast so the kitchen facilities were adequate for our needs. Walking to downtown would be quite a hike but Uber was never more than 3 min. away and inexpensive. Loved Charleston and would definitely come back. (The TV in the living room did not work although the handyman tried to fix it. Comcast did not make it out over the weekend)

Exce;;emt location & beautiful unit. Safety precautions needed for porch stairs.

  • 4 of 5

Great neighborhood with good weekend street parking. The unit was very beautiful and laid out nicely. The front door steps to front door need a hand rail for safety especially in rainy weather. The middle tile was loose. It was an easy access unit. Upon arrival windows were open and dust on every surface. The sheets in the middle bedroom had been changed long enough before our arrival that bugs were sheltered there. The dryer had some linen, a men's shirt & shorts. We had a great stay & I have passed on observations I'd want to know if I was the owner.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your extremely helpful review. Some of the situations that you reported were very alarming to me so I checked into it immediately to make certain it never happens again: as it turned out, the previous guest had an aversion to air conditioning and insisted on "natural air" and had opened most of the windows in the home but the housekeeper had not noticed since the windows are also covered with plantation shutters and had not re-closed them. Since there was a two day gap between the time of her cleaning and your arrival, the dust was allowed to accumulate. My housekeeper is excellent so this was quite a surprise to me, and to her, not knowing that the windows had been opened. Also apparently the middle bedroom has not been used by guests for some time and since the linens had not been used, the housekeeper had not changed the bed. Your review has helped both me and my housekeeper to develop some more criteria for her work: check all windows, change all the beds whether they had been used or not and to check the washer and dryer since she does not use them but takes the linens home to clean them. The things in the dryer had been left also by the previous guest and now I was able to return them to their owner. As for the three steps leading from the street to the front porch: One of the reasons the Historic District of Charleston is as beautiful as it is is because it is governed by a very strong and strict Board of Architectural review that does not allow anything to be changed on the homes from the original look....and, unfortunately, that has included adding a railing for a "stairs" that is less than four steps. I have been fighting with this for years and very frustrated that I have not been granted a building permit to add a railing. I was able to take your review to the Board of Architectural Review and use it as part of my most recent application and have FINALLY been granted the permit...and a railing is going in. Thank you so much for the help that your honest review has been.

Charleston Choice!

  • 5 of 5

I don't think you could find a better location than this beautiful rental apartment. It is within an easy walk to all attractions, yet in a quiet, safe and gorgeous residential neighborhood....with an historic mansion directly across the street. It is very spacious and beautifully decorated with all the comforts of home. The hand-painted antique clawfoot tub in one of the en-suites was a special treat for a luxuriously dreamy bath and there is a jetted tub in the second bathroom if you prefer your bubbles more active. The kitchen is well furnished with both appliances and dishes, utensils, etc. There is also a new Maytag washer and dryer which came in handy for us with a baby. Yes, I can recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a true Charleston experience in a lovely neighborhood.

Great Stay: Immaculate, Perfect Location, Spacious, All we could have wanted!

  • 5 of 5

We were a bit apprehensive having read another review but we are happy to report that our experience was ideal. We are a family of five in Charleston to attend a wedding and we found the apartment to be ideally located in the historic district within a very easy walk to shops, restaurants and sites, but located in a quiet and safe residential area.....with a beautiful ante-bellum mansion directly across the street. The owner was great to deal with and very quick to answer any of our questions. The kitchen was well equipped although we did eat most of our meals out except for breakfast. There was even a highchair and "Pack 'n Play" provided for our child. There is a washer and dryer that came in handy since we have a baby. After a long day of touring my wife especially appreciated the jetted bathtub.

We were perfectly comfortable and found the apartment to be very, very roomy for our family stay. I would and will highly recommend this rental to any of my family or friends who plan to come to Charleston.

Great Home

  • 4 of 5

We loved staying at this beautiful home. It was nicely done and it was great for our girls trip. There were 3 bedrooms and they all had full size or larger beds which was great! The living area was nice and open and allowed us the space we needed. It was walking distance (about a mile) to the downtown historic district and water and a nice neighborhood park/lake was a short walk as well. The main bathroom shares with the master bedroom and there is not a door between the main hall bathroom and the shower area so if anyone is shower you can't use the main bathroom which was the only thing we found inconvenient. We would definitely stay here again.
