Ideal for up to 5 guests, it's a perfect blend of seclusion and accessibility.

Historical Roots: Experience the rich history of this cabin, originally a hunting retreat, now a lovingly restored family home.

Extremely nice location

Everything you need is all set up. Very responsive hosts, great people to chat with, close enough to get shopping done but far enough to not be bothered, boat dock very close by not to busy during the week, overalls great experiences

Neat little cabin to stay in, clean ,neat and has all you need for a great vacation experience.

Had a great time staying here, nice boat dock for our boat. Comfortable and clean and wood stay here again.

Awesome spot, beautifully decorated. We basically set up camp by water. Caught perch of the dock and used to catch a ton of catfish. Big ones too. Used the camp stoves to fry them up. The water toys were such a nice treat. Thank you!!

Cozy Cabin

My family owned this property for over 70 years so it was a sentimental trip for me. This cabin has been nicely updated and is just perfect for two couples or a small family. The property itself is beautiful and very private, great for taking a walk, sitting by a fire, playing in the water off the dock, etc. The hosts have thought of absolutely everything needed to make your stay perfect. I am so thankful they willing to share this piece of paradise with others.

Beautiful, Peaceful Ozark Getaway

Our family of 4 adults and an 8-year-old thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at this beautifully furnished and decorated cabin. It's in a very secluded location but only minutes from all the local restaurants and attractions. The spacious furnished dock is just a short walk from the cabin. The gracious host Joleen thoughtfully provided everything....PLUS, leaving us nothing further to want for our stay. We highly recommend it!

BOOK IT!

toyWe loved everything about our stay here! Joleen the host was super responsive and accomodating. The house is clean and comfortable and in an awesome location. Private dock was so peaceful with an abundance of H20 toys to use. The decor was well done and the bed in loft was extremely comfortable. Great Yard for our dogs to burn some energy as well. We will be back soon.

Went home early

Sofa-bed in back rm was not as pictured. Lump in middle when folded, too low to floor to use when unfolded. No sleeping there. No night stands for lamp for nightly bathrm trips & breathing machine in back sleeping rm or bedrm. Lite switch is across rm. Loft stairs STEEP &unevenly spaced. Easy to trip,especially at nite. Bed has WIDE frame to get over to use bed. No window covers on ANY windows except bathrm. Backrm & front entrance had 2-3walls of mostly glass. Front entrance leads to bthrm. Twice men waved at me thru windows while I was on path to bathrm. Glass in backrm gives people across cove clear view of sleepers there & in bedrm. Showr curtain doesn't cover shower. Top of bathrm sink about 2ft from ground. Lg shelf above caused us to hit our heads while brushing teeth. All surfaces are so full of antiques, no place left to set your necessities. Only given 1 washcloth ea, for a wk. Kitchen table folded &hung on wall had only rm for 2 people, only 2 stools. Sm. table in front entrance, 2 chairs. Chiggars outside on rocks & grass. Must walk thru both to get to car & dock. We had chiggars in beds. Had to stop vacation after 3days. Steep walk to dock. Good fishing. Good A/C. Clean house. Nice owners. Lots of extras- Qtips, nail files, bandaids, phone chargers etc. No paper, pens, or writing room on desk. With antiques everywhere I felt like I was sleeping in a museum. With all the drapeless windows I felt like I was part of the display. Just got this questionnaire yesterday

Hi Debi, Thank you for sharing such detailed comments. We understand this was your first VRBO stay (unfortunately for us), and our 70-year-old, glass-front cabin inside a state-park cove can feel very different from a modern hotel room. • Sleeping arrangements – The back-room futon is floor-height by design. It is brand new and we just got it in June. We inspected it after checkout and found the cushion even; we’ll add a note so future guests know it sits low. • Privacy & windows – The tree-house effect is intentional: dense foliage surrounds the house, and sight-line checks from the road and across the cove show no direct interior view. If you enjoy nature, this isn’t the place for you. • Outdoor pests – Missouri summers come with chiggers, especially in tall grass and along the shoreline. Repellent is provided, and paths are mowed regularly, but a home in a state park will never be insect-free. • Towels & supplies – The listing includes six bath towels and six washcloths; when you requested fourteen towels, we delivered them the same day. • Friendly waves – Lake-area neighbors often greet each other with a friendly wave. The wave came from my husband, while he was pulling weeds in the daylight as Debi happened to walk to the bathroom. Waving to guests / neighbors is part of the local hospitality and doesn’t compromise indoor privacy. This vintage lake cabin is ideal for guests who appreciate charm, wildlife, and nature. Those who prefer sleek, urban-style accommodations may wish to consider a different property. Thank you again for the feedback.
