Este alquiler de vacaciones en Kiawah Island, ubicado en 1030 Sparrow Pond, es una casa de campo renovada de tres habitaciones que ofrece una terraza envolvente, un porche cubierto, acceso a la piscina comunitaria de temporada y se encuentra a 3 minutos a pie de la playa.

La casa de campo te saluda con hermosos pisos de madera noble, revestimiento elevado y encanto costero. La sala de estar abierta cuenta con un sofá seccional con otomana, dos sillas acogedoras y una gran TV de pantalla plana. La sala de estar se puede convertir en dormitorios adicionales: la otomana cabe en el sofá para hacer una cama doble. La cocina grande y totalmente equipada ofrece electrodomésticos de acero inoxidable y mucho espacio de gabinetes. Una lavadora y secadora apiladas se encuentran discretamente en la cocina. La mesa de comedor ovalada tiene capacidad para seis personas cómodamente. El primer dormitorio ofrece una cama queen y baño privado con ducha. El otro dormitorio con cama grande cuenta con TV y comparte un baño con un dormitorio que tiene dos camas individuales. Cada habitación tiene su propia área de lavamanos e inodoros, y el combo de ducha / bañera es compartido. Ambos de estos dormitorios tienen acceso a la cubierta lateral. Ambas camas queen recibieron nuevos colchones a partir de abril de 2017. La cubierta trasera y el porche filtrado se accede desde la sala de estar. The chalet had storage space for six bikes, umbrellas, beach chairs, under cover parking for two vehicles and a well stocked kitchen. We were six adults and were all happy with the cleanliness, checkin and check out routine. 3 min bike ride and 10 min walk to the beach. We’d stay here again! ‘

Weekend getaway

Great little cottage perfect for a family of four. Teenage kids had their own rooms. Neat, clean and close to the beach and market . Would stay there again and have even recommended the cottage to co-workers already.

Perfect location for the marathon

A group of running friends stayed here for the marathon/half marathon. It really is the perfect location. We had a short walk to the start/finish. And then a short walk to the beach for recovery!

Family vacation

Home was extremely well stocked and clean . Very easy access to beach at boardwalk #1 about 7 minute walk … community pool was even closer and was well maintained and quiet .. only thing we found was not quite up to scratch was the deck area at back and side .. deck boards need replacing etc .. we did get new grill to replace old broken one … table umbrella perished etc … otherwise great spot

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family loves vacationing in Kiawah. We especially like the west beach area. The condo was clean and spacious allowing our family to gather very comfortably. The design of the bathroom shared by two bedrooms was well thought out and very functional. My only negatives are that the master bedroom didn't have a television and the bed sat very low to the ground. The carpet in the bedrooms looked worn. The screened porch was small and crowded. Love the location close to pool and the beach.

Great Location but Needs Major Updating

The house was in a fantastic location. The beach and the pool were a close walk. The outdoor deck area was nice in the mornings. However, the house was in a desperate state of needing updating. The cost of the rental was not equal to the quality of the space. Here are a few examples of things needing updating: 1. The carpets were disgusting. They are dark brown rather than light due to dirt. 2. The beds were extremely old and uncomfortable. They need replacing. 3. The bathtub didn't hold water (it drained constantly). 4. The air conditioner vents in the ceiling dripped water. 5. The common areas cooled nicely but the rooms didn't cool (we did check the vents and they were open). The owners did provide fans which were a life saver. 6. The stocking of the kitchen could use some improvement. 7. The screen on the door of the screen porch was busted out before we arrive so the bugs still got in.

Family vacation

The property was as described. Plenty of room for 6 people and lots of outside areas to spread out and relax. The property managers were awesome and responded to our inquiries immediately! We loved the beach (#5) but never found number #2 as recommended in the booklet in the unit. We drive one car to the beach and others rode bikes! It was Very close which was terrific. The bike riding in the beach was so awesome and the beach was heavenly! All in all it was a wonderful vacation!!

Very Nice Layout For Multi-generational

Master room w/ bath off to one side. Then a queen bedroom and 2 twin bedroom were joined by a bathroom on the other side. They shared a shower but had their own sinks/toilets. Was great for grandparents, parents, and little ones! Nice parking and place to store bikes. Negative was not very good water pressure.

Screen porch was dirtyRental company emailed incorrect code to neighborhood pool so had to get it from other users.A map with directions to pool and beach access would have been VERY helpful as we had to ask others walking in the neighborhood how to get to both places.

Four days at 1030 Sparrow Pond Cottage

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cottage is one of a group of small homes on stilts off of Duneside Dr. on the west end of the island. The area is very quiet, and like most of the island many trees have been preserved around the cottages. The view from the back deck into the wooded lot was enjoyable. We enjoyed the house, which has a nice wood floor and sizable kitchen. Overall the house is in good shape, and some things such as the bathrooms and the kitchen counters looked to be recently updated. The house had been adequately cleaned. The beds were comfortable. There are a few things in the house that need to be updated or repaired, however. The first thing is the living room couch, which is large with a huge ottoman, and dominates the main floor space. It can only be described as "grungy". Owners need to replace it. The rugs in the bedrooms are also old and weary and stained and need to go. Might be best to have wood throughout the house. There are some deck boards that have warped on the side deck and are sticking up, but are hard to see, and one of us tripped on one. The wrought iron and tile table on the side deck has rusted through and the tiles have collapsed. Definitely needs to be replaced. We could never get the fan in the living room to come on. It has a remote and a wall switch and a pull maybe we never hit on the right combo! We drive an electric car. In order to charge we had to run an extension cord from upstairs down to the carport below the house. If it's possible to have an outlet down there (although flood ordinances may not allow it) that would be helpful. It's a bit of a slog to the beach carrying chairs and an umbrella, but if you rented all that it would be fine. The beach on that section of island is great, and the location is bicycle distance to the river where the dolphins strand feed.

We have stayed on Kiawah every year for the since 1993. We have stayedon East Beach, West Beach, and on Vanderhorst. We have stayed during allseasons. This was one of the most relaxing areas at which we stayed;Comfortable, quiet, and super close to beach and pool. Lunch at the clubhouse was within walking distance. Your rental coupon was a plus, we used itfor bicycles and beach chairs. We were pleasantly surprised that we saw notone roach live or dead, on our property during our entire stay. A first forus on Kiawah!We plan to visit this area again. The house did have a few minor issues. The rear slider and screen door needmaintenance. The large table on the deck is in need of repair orreplacement. A few boards on the deck need nailing down. There were onlyfour coffee cups so we took turns drinking when we had company. A few steakknives would be nice. There is no potato peeler, but potato skins are healthy..Scissors would be a plus. New oven mitts, pot holders, would be nice! Weused our sock. minor issues, no big deal. I'm getting silly now, sorry.I would like you to know we would definitely stay there again! we really didenjoy the home and the area.And, Kudos to the Akers Ellis staff. Great location, some issues.

First of all, great location. It's very conveniently located to the beach, pool, and Freshfields (shopping, grocery store). The home was clean. Well equipped kitchen. Large open living room / kitchen. However we did have some issues that were not resolved, and I think the description was not very accurate. This place majorly lacks in water pressure, there is no way anyone can take a shower if any other water source is being used. Even if no other shower, sink, washing machine, dishwasher, etc. was being used the water pressure was still terrible. When I say terrible, I mean like just barely trickling out of the shower head at times. When we tried to use both showers at the same time, it was literally just dripping. Also, the water would go from scorching hot, to freezing cold. I emailed the host (Anker Ellis) and was told that they would see about getting maintenance out there to check on it, but that never happened, and I never heard back from them. The other issue, which was not as big of a deal, what's the pool was not open. Although I think this is out of the host control, I wish we would have known before we went. I emailed them about the pool being open, the reply I got was:they were waiting to hear back from the community pool to see when they would be open. As we explored the island all the other pools that we came across were open, it was just kind of a bummer that ours was not. The description says that this house is a 3-minute walk to the beach, that is not true. The book inside the home says that boardwalk #2 is the closest boardwalk. This is true, but just to get to the boardwalk is about a 5-minute walk, and then an additional minute on the boardwalk. And that's walking at a very brisk pace. If you're walking with children, or someone that doesn't walk very fast, I would plan on a 7-10-minute walk. Which is still not bad, I just wish the description was a little more accurate. The book in the home also says that there is a map included. Someone else who reviewed this property mentioned that there is not a map in the home, I can confirm that there is NOT a map. It wasn't a big deal to me because we were traveling with friends who had stayed in the area prior to this trip and they knew the area well. The description says you can park 4 cars, I think only 3 could fit. The kitchen had only one sharp knife, several dresser drawers were broken, dinning table leg held together with tape, sliding door in bedroom non-functional.

Our wish list for improvements are ceiling fans in two of the bedrooms and on the screen porch, and mattress toppers/pads and better pillows on all the beds. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

It fit our needs and we hope to return again! However, there are several things I wish I knew before we arrived or would wish were changed: - The house sleeps 6-8, but there are only 5 soup/cereal bowls. So, if you plan on everyone having cereal for breakfast, bring bowls. Also, there are exactly 6 spoons and a few of those were quite large for eating with. - There is NO ice maker even though the listing says there is one. Not a huge deal as we just grabbed a bag of ice, but I wish we had known so we didn't have to go back out to get it. - The walk to the beach is defintely NOT 3 minutes. We timed it- 7-8 minutes. Still not bad and totally doable. - You are pretty much on your own for finding your way to the beach. They said they included a map, but there was no map. We called and asked for one, but we never heard back from them. So, on your way in, ask for one at the security check-point. We tried to use our phone GSP, but that just took us to a cul-de-sac. We eventually found a hidden gate in a privacy fence, but I am not sure that was what we were supposed to do. The rest of the week, we ended up just going ot Boardwalk 1. A slightly longer walk (by like 1 minute), but more accessable and at the end of a trail so easy to find. I wish they gave you more specific instructions on how to reach the beach. That was frustrating when we arrived. We enjoyed our week and the rental house. The gear credit was great! Just might want to correct some things on the listing (like distance to beach and ice maker) and maybe have more specific directions to the beach. Overall we were very satisfied.

1030 Sparrow Pond

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Kiawah was great as usual. We were overall not very impressed with 1030 Sparrow Pond cottage. I’ll start with the things we liked about this house: the kitchen was updated, spacious, and had everything we needed. The house in general had a good amount of room for 2-3 adults and kids staying there. I would not count on the couch as a bed though. Now the parts we didn’t like: all the furniture was old and dirty, and visibly worn. The bedding was old and actually pretty gross. The back bedroom’s door didn’t even close all the way correctly. The mattress was not comfortable and really squeaky. The back bathrooms all had ants daily. The porch was dirty and something smelled gross, like people had brought shells with creatures that had died and wasn’t cleaned. We used the washer and drier once, the drier must need a new belt because it was loud for the first 40 minutes and took a very long time to dry a regular load. Really, the whole place needs a good scrub down and updates to furniture and beds. The website said a 3 minute walk from the beach, but the boardwalk was closed and there was construction nearby so it was definitely not 3 minutes. I’m very thankful our family was staying so close to us and we had access to their boardwalk.
