The location of this property is excellent with the best view on Pigeon Hill Bay! It's a close driving distance to numerous preserves with great hiking trails and Pigeon Hill Preserve is just a short walk up the road.The bay offers protected waters for kayaking and viewing an abundance of wildlife such as seals, bald eagles, herons and numerous other water birds. Watching the local lobster boats is also a treat. Karl, the host, keeps great communication and is happy to be contacted should there be any questions or concerns.The property is clean, appointed well and well maintaned, We've done vacation rentals for many years and this is our favorite!

Karl was great and the cottage was fantastic; recently rebuilt and the attention to detail was top notch. The views were breathtaking. We plan to come back.

Sisters getaway

The cottage is clean, well stocked, welcoming and in a magnificent location! The sunrises are breathtaking and watching the seals, fishing boats, and seagulls are so peaceful. The owner was close by if needed and left list great hikes and food nearby. Highly recommend this magical place!

Cozy Cottage in a Wonderful Setting

We loved our stay in the cozy cottage. There was plenty of space and lots of extras to enjoy our time. The views from the cottage are fantastic and we enjoyed hiking nearby.

Great location

Near Schoodic Peninsula, Winter Harbor ferry, Pigeon Hill and Petit Manan Peninsula hiking trails. Beautiful location, well appointed home, screen porch to enjoy the lovely views.

Perfect slice of heaven! Owner super easy to deal with. Setting is amazing! Need to travel little for restaurants cause it’s away from the hustle and bustle, very quiet. Bring some food and grill and buy fresh lobsters close to cottage.

Karl, you made our vacation enjoyable in every way possible. Your cabin is beautiful, and all of the amenities were perfect. It was very difficult to leave, and we hope to see you again next year!

Great Getaway

This was our first vacation with our 6 month old and we had a great time. Beautiful views and the cottage lived up to its expectations. Karl was a great host.

Truly an excellent location for peace and quiet. Sounds of water and nature. Amazing communication with owner. Can tell he takes pride in his location. Definitely coming back next August.

Really enjoyed our stay!

This cottage was so perfect for our stay. Very cute, well kept, and in a great location. We really appreciated being so close to the water and enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evenings. We also enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the campfire. The whole experience was very cozy and enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again!

Fall getaway

Cabin so adorable and comfy! The view of water right out our window and sunrise was so inspiring. Great location to relax, hike and enjoy lobster. Even though nearing end of season still a lovely get away!

Great, peaceful place with close access to pigeon hill hike and Petit Manan. Internet was super slow to the point of being almost useless, but we were there to disconnect anyway. Very helpful and communicative host!

Man, I cannot say enough good things about Karl and his little cabin on the shore. This was our second time staying there, this time for two weeks. We stayed at Karl’s cabin three years ago right as it was coming online and we thought it was perfect then. Karl has since poured so much of his time into refinishing the woodwork, redoing the quaint little kitchen, replacing windows, and adding small conveniences to make our stay even better. I might add that Karl is a master carpenter so the cabin is genuinely a product of his care and craftsmanship. You will not find a more perfect setting for your time in Maine. When you walk out the front door you are stepping onto massive granite rocks with the ocean gently lapping on their edges. We spent hours each day laying on those rocks reading books and drinking local pale ales. It is SO QUIET! Some days the fog would roll through and you could occasionally hear lobster boats in the distance but the ocean just disappeared into clouds in front of you. Most evening we watched seals catching fish a couple hundred feet in front of the rocks. There are wonderful hiking trails less than a quarter mile down the quiet road, winding through blueberry barrens and spruce forests. Karl has a top-notch propane burner with large pots, perfect for a low country boil or steaming crabs and lobsters. Ten minutes away is one of the best lobster pounds east of Bar Harbor. I could go on and on but I’m running out of space! If this is available BOOK IT!!

Peaceful quiet lovely place right on the bay, away from any crowds, just local fishermen and eagles, ospreys, etc. Really just perfect.

Quiet getaway

We had an excellent long weekend! The views are gorgeous!! The property was quiet, cottage was clean and it had all the “household” stuff you need for cooking. We had a good time looking for cool rocks, watching the tide and sitting by the fire.
