This house surpassed every one of our expectations. If you have a large group, this house is perfect. It is well maintained, has all the amenities and is ideally located -- quick walk to the beach or bike ride in to town. The views are spectacular and when you need your own space to get away from the group there are plenty of options. No one felt crowded and every single one of us had a great time. We could not have picked a better place in Duck.
Overall a good experience; however, the home was not as clean as one would expect for such an expensive rental. There were a lot of bugs and spiders especially on the lower level, which I don't believe was cleaned prior to our check in. However, when we called Elan to complain they immediately sent over someone to clean the lower level. The kitchen is stocked with all the amenities you would ever need, the elevator was very convenient. The pool was great, but could use an upgrade on the filtering system. There were a lot of flies and wasps, especially around the Tiki Bar...I believe there is probably a wasp nest in the bar. As a safety measure for the pool, there is an alarm system that requires you to push a button prior to opening the door or slider on the lower level, which if you forget to press, creates an unusually ear piercing alarm on the upper levels. Also the slider to the pool is almost impossible to open. The runners need to be cleaned and/or replaced.
