We enjoyed the relaxing, peace and quiet that allowed my husband and I to unwind from our hectic work schedules. We enjoyed swimming in their pool and adventuring with kyaks to the Gulf. The owners were so helpful and available to answer any questions we had. It was a marvelous experience and can't wait to return!

We had a great time hanging by the pool, only thing maybe needs a fan or TV.

We are so glad you had a good time! We are always looking at protentional changes for The Blue Heron. Thank you for the suggesting to add a second TV for outside by the pool. Though the house has fans through out, in every bedroom, and even on the screened deck, having one outside on the pool deck might be nice, all though it is almost always breezy. We look forward to hosting you again!

Overall the house was nice and accommodating.Lane always answered my questions in a timely manner. However, there was only one television, which I did not realize. There was no outdoor seating on the upper deck. And to access the back yard, pool, and canal we had to go out the front door, down the 30ish stairs and through the carport. We had a great time in Hernando Beach and loved eating at the Lazy Lizzard.

Thank you for your feedback—we’re glad you enjoyed Hernando Beach and The Lazy Lizard Restaurant. For clarity, the home is elevated on stilts (common in the area), and the stair entry and access points are shown in the listing photos. The home includes one very large TV in the living area for a theatre like experience, and the screened porch, on the upper deck does have outdoor seating. We appreciate your comments and the opportunity to clarify for future guests. Have a great rest of your spring.

Great property. It was quiet and relaxing. It had some extras that wasn’t expected, such as spices, toiletries, laundry detergent, even plastic wrap and aluminium foil. This made it even more welcoming. The pool was wonderful and the kayaks available made it extra special, we even saw a dolphin on a morning row! Everything was clean, and the view was so enjoyable, and we did make use of the grill, corn hole, and outdoor jenga. The space was perfect for our family, and there were tons of shops and restaurants close by. Some restaurants just a minute away, while grocery, more restaurants, and shops about 10-15 minutes away, but it was a lovely drive! Our single negative was the only access to the pool was going down the steps at the front door, however, this did not ruin our stay at all. We would stay here again!

Great place

This house is probably the 4th place we have stayed at in the area. Finding a house with ample parking is always an issue and there is plenty here. A lot of homes say that they sleep 10 people but only have room for 2 cars, not including boat trailers. The pool was fantastic after coming in off the water. We had a little trouble at check-in but smooth sailing otherwise. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful home!

Our family of 4 spent a week at the Blue Heron in February 2025. We are thrilled with the home and its location which is on the quieter side. The neighborhood was very pleasant, especially considering a number of residents were still dealing with the aftermath of the hurricane. From the Blue Heron, we would have never even known a storm occurred. The home is spacious, clean and well equipped with the necessary items. Further, the communications with the owner/manager was Outstanding. We intend on returning as soon as we can. Booking the home through Lane and Lynne was painless and simple. 5 stars from us.

Our family of five (myself, husband, kids 10 and 13 and mother-in-law) traveled for the week to Hernando Beach, staying at the Blue Heron. The house was clean and welcoming. The kitchen was well organized and the bedrooms were perfect. The beds and linens were super cozy! The bathroom towel, pool towels, and other household items were a great asset. Our family found the downstairs pool area was cool with the shade and breeze working together. The kids loved the pool and we spent a lot of time in this space. We used the Kayaks one day and saw a sting in the canal. The welcome book had helpful information about places to visit, where to rent a pontoon and restaurants. When we had a question Lynne was quick to respond and helpful. We highly recommend visiting the flats with a pontoon and eating at the Silver Dolphin. The local pizza place Matoli’s was perfect for the night we arrived. The area has a lot to offer and explore with other locations within easy driving distance!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It truly makes me happy to hear that your family enjoyed your stay at the Blue Heron. I'm delighted the house was comfortable for everyone—from the cozy beds and kitchen to the shaded pool area where the kids could relax and have fun. It sounds like you made the most of your vacation! How exciting that you spotted a stingray while kayaking—that's always a memorable experience. I'm also glad the welcome book helped you discover some of our favorite local spots. Silver Dolphin and Matoli's are definitely local gems! Thank you for being such wonderful guests and for taking the time to share your experience. It was a pleasure hosting your family, and I hope you'll come back to the Blue Heron whenever you're ready for another waterfront getaway. We'd love to welcome you again! Loved the photos too!!
