Overview

About the property

4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, Sleeps 13

Three certainly isn’t a crowd at Ocean Pearl in St. Augustine Beach. With three floors, four bedrooms, and two additional sleeper sofas, this beachfront house can sleep up to 13 people with ease, making it ideal for a multi-family vacation, a wedding party, or a school reunion.

Although the house was recently updated and professionally decorated by the owner, who has an interior-design background, sandy feet and wet swimsuits are definitely allowed. That’s a good thing, given that in addition to overlooking Crescent Beach—there’s even a private walkway to its white sands—Ocean Pearl has its own in-ground pool. You can catch some ocean waves in the morning, then enjoy a luxurious swim in privacy at night. Perfection!

In addition to the roomy patio surrounding the pool, Ocean Pearl has decks spanning the front of the house on both the second and third floors. There you can relish the fresh ocean breeze while enjoying a drink and watch seabirds and surfers alike on the beach; the house is in fact located just off a popular surfing spot, so don’t forget your board.

Of course, you can savor the ocean views from inside as well. The open-plan third floor has a wealth of windows as well as a spacious living room with roomy couches (one of which converts to a bed for one), a 50” HDTV, and even an Xbox. Adjacent is a dining area and an open kitchen with a breakfast bar. You can serve the kids at the breakfast bar before joining the adults at the dining table—a setup certain to make everyone happy. With its sparkling appliances and gleaming counters, the fully equipped kitchen will make anyone who enjoys cooking happy as well. There’s grocery shopping nearby, so feel free to stock up on all the food you’ll need for your stay; there’s plenty of room in the fridge, the freezer, and the cabinets to store it all.

Also on the third floor is the master suite, complete with a king-size bed, a TV, and patio doors that open onto the deck—because nothing’s more romantic than enjoying the moonlight sparkling on the ocean in the arms of that special someone. The en-suite bathroom has both a slipper tub for long, relaxing soaks and a shower for when you want to quickly kick-start the day.

Three additional bedrooms are on the second floor, one with a king-size bed, one with a queen bed, and the third with a double bed and a single. All three rooms have their own HDTVs—no squabbling over what to watch. Two full bathrooms are on this floor as well. There’s even a second sitting room with its own 50” HDTV, perfect for the kids to hang out. A sofa in this room converts into a bed as well.

The ground floor has a spacious entryway—talk about making a fabulous first impression!—

Ocean Pearl is so luxurious, you may be tempted to spend hours, if not days, lazing and lounging inside, on its decks, or in its pool. But because of its prime location—we did mention the private walkway to the beach, right?—there’s plenty to do nearby. The house is just off the stunning A1A Scenic Highway. Nearby you’ll find Marineland, St. Augustine Lighthouse, and a wealth of parks for biking, hiking, and bird-watching, as well as historic St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city. Even the Orlando theme parks are just a day trip away.

Whether you’re planning a relaxing getaway, a family fun fest, or a chance to spend quality time with the gang, Ocean Pearl is a perfect place for it, combining easy living with extraordinary luxury. So what are you waiting for? Make your reservation today.

We had a wonderful time

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time. Prompt response to problems when they arose. The only complaint we had was the pet hair. Allergies. Overall it was good.<br/>

Worn out and not taken care of.

  • 1 of 5

The first problem of many we encountered was two different sets of instructions to gain entry into the property. Neither set of instructions worked. Fortunately, a door was left opened, because it could not lock and thats how we got into the property. The next problems was one that plagued us the entire week, BUGS, BUGS, AND MORE BUGS. We had bugs crawling up the walls, on the floor, in the bed with us. little black hard shelled bugs. And then there were the ants--lots and lots of ants everywhere--even in the bathrooms. Last but not least is the cock roaches. Nasty! Monday was Memorial Day so we had to endure this nonsense until Tuesday. An exterminator was sent out on Tuesday and back again on Wednesday, but the bugs, ants and roaches thrived. During my call on Tuesday I asked to speak with the supervisor to seek some kind of compensation, but was told we would have to wait to see if the bugs investation was controlled by the first exterminators visit. On wednesday I spoke with a different lady and was told everyone was out of the office but she would tell the supervisor and that person would call me as soon as he/she returned. I received no call. Lets move on to the physical condition of the house. Several of the door locks were broken and would fall into your hand if your tried to lock the door. Not a good situation to have with the ocean on one side of the house and a pool and a road on the other side of the house since we had a one-year old and a two-year old to watch out for. They were too busy trying to eat bugs to notice the doors were not locked. Over half of the lights were burned out. The ice machine had parts laying on the counter so it did not work. Ceiling fans also did not work. The shower drain in the master bathroom did not drain. The dryer kept tripping the breaker and there was no working smoke detector. The TV did not work in the downstairs bedroom. The furniture and rugs were stained. We were not given enough towels, blankets, pillow cases to go around. This house advertises it sleeps 14 people and we did not have the bedding or towels to cover 14. The outside of the house is in need of painting . The outside furniture was old, worn and a collection of mismatched yard sale looking stuff. DO NOT let the photos shown in the ad fool you--the house is NOT in that good of shape. I am very disappointed with the quality and service I received. The only good thing was Big Bills beach rentals--A #1.

Experience was tainted as initial credit card deposit was charged twice with firm from California . Never got explanation , nor prior knowledge this would occur . Have never received reimbursement . Retired on fixed income and important monies are accounted for . Will take up with authorities unless settled .
