Swift's All Season Cottage - Dwight, Ontario

Swift Cottage is located in the quaint resort town of Oxtongue Lake, minutes from Algonquin Park's west gate. Enjoy this beautiful cottage with two stone fireplaces, gorgeous gourmet kitchen and an open-concept great room. You'll find a games room in the finished basement with slate pool table. The wood grand staircase leads to the third floor where you will find three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, including a spacious master bedroom with it's own private full bath. Across a small cottage road there is a private gated sandy beach area with dock for use by Swift Cottage guests exclusively. There is also a screened-in gazebo in the front yard off the deck. The Swift Cottage is located close to hiking and biking trails, and only a stone's throw from Algonquin Park. Take a paddle from the dock to the Ragged Falls for a short day trip. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of this four-season cottage. Great wilderness adventure is just out your door. Try canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, fishing and swimming in the summer. Use the cottage as a base for day trips into Algonquin Park. In the winter enjoy cross country skiing and snowshoeing from the cottage or take a short drive to the many cross country ski trails in Algonquin Park . If downhill skiing is on the agenda take a twenty minute drive to Hidden Valley Ski area for some winter fun! Then head back to the cottage to warm up around one of the cozy two fireplaces.
WE DO NOT PROVIDE: BED LINENS, PILLOW CASES, COMFORTERS , BATH TOWELS, FLOOR BATH MATS or KITCHEN TOWELS. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN. WE DO PROVIDE FRESHLY LAUNDERED MATTRESS COVERS and PILLOW COVERS WHICH WILL BE CLEANED AFTER EACH DEPARTURE

*During our off season( January - June and September- December we require a 3 day minimum stay)* *Summer rates are based on weekly rates the check in is 4 pm and check out 10 am this is strict so we have time to properly sanitize after each stay. *

CHECK IN FOR JULY AND AUGUST IS TYPICALLY IS SUNDAY TO SUNDAY AND WEEKLY ONLY DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS. *IF THE END OF THE MONTH HAPPENS OVERLAP THE FOLLOWING MONTH DURNING JULY AND AUGUST TO COMPLETE THE WEEKLY RENTAL THEN THE WEEKLY PEAK PERIOD WILL GO INTO THE BEGINNING OF THE FOLLOWING MONTH TO COMPLETE THE PEAK PERIOD.



A damage deposit is taken upon check in to ensure no damages occur during your stay.
Private sandy beach area in front of the cottage, separated by the cottage road. With Algonquin Outfitters right next door you can rent almost any gear you may need to make your adventure come true, year around.

We are thrilled to share our cottage with you and hope you make many fond memories with
family and friends for many years to come!

Before you leave we just ask a couple favours to help our cleaning crew prepare for the next
guests arriving later in the day.

- Please take all trash including bathroom trash bags to the garbage receptacle at Algonquin Outfitters.
- Please load all dishes in the dishwasher and run it through the normal cycle to ensure there are no dirty dishes are left on departure.
- Please place used sheets and towels in the laundry room and kindly start a load of towels on your departure.
- Please make sure the thermostats are turned down to 17c in the winter.
- Please lock all doors and return the key to the front desk where you checked in at Algonquin Outfitters on your departure.
- Please wipe down all counter surfaces and stove top in kitchen area.
- Please remove all food from fridge and wipe inside of fridge down.
- Please leave the cottage in the condition it was rented to you.
- The Swift All Season Cottage is pet free and smoke free, if you must smoke please do so outside and ensure no cigarette butts are ignited or left outside.
- If the cottage is left damaged or untidy there is a cleaning fee applicable of $500.00 for
extra cleaning or damage.

- If you exceed the number of persons stated and agreed upon you will be subjected to
$500.00 charge and evection. We work on the honour system and trust you will too.
- WE HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR STAY AND WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU AS RETURN CLIENTS FOR YEARS TO COME!

Everything was great. We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is spacious and easily accommodated our group of 7. The private dock / waterfront canoe / kayak made for fun days on the lake.

beautiful cottage nearby the Algonquin Outfitters who provided excellent customer service and follow up care during the temporary and unexpected power outage for us ..loved the deck, the outdoor screened in gazebo...and a gorgeous private dock and firepit just across the street ... loved both indoor gas fireplaces and gameroom and great kitchen and dining roomvery comfy.bedswe are.definately coming back next yearmerciLa famille Labonte

We loved staying at this property. It was very well stocked, the location was perfect and we were able to have space for all of the family. Having the games room downstairs was great!!

Great property

Beautiful cottage with well appointed kitchen, appliances and very completely stocked kitchen. Lots of room for all to gather together or to find a quiet space if desired. Plenty of room on the back deck as well as on the dock. My family spent most of their time in the lake.

Great weekend getaway

We had a group of 8 adults for a weekend getaway. The cottage had plenty of room for all of us. The beach area was great for swimming and we a great time kayaking to the falls up the river. It was also really nice to be so close to algonquin outfitters to rent an extra Kayak for the day. I would recommend this cottage.

Beautiful location!

We had a wonderful stay in Dwight! The fall colours were incomparable and amazing! The house had LOTS of room and fun things to keep everyone entertained! We plan to be back! Thanks for the use of the house! We are leaving with great memories.

Great trip to cottage country

Overall this property has everything needed for a great stay...with more than enough space indoors, and access to a private sandy beach outdoors...great SUP and kayak area, and then there is the waterfall a short padal....Thanks

Family time

The cottage was beautiful and lots of character. A lot of spiders in the cottage but due to age and location I’m sure that is normal. A lot busier area than we though and we thought we were right on the water. In saying all that the dock was directly across the road and was veryvnice

Cottage vibes

The cottage was great ! Everything you need is there to help with your stay the private beach area was awsome. The only thing i would complain about but not really an issue is you have to bring slippers for inside even thought you have to take off shoes when we stepped inside the floor was sandy and lots of little spider webs that dosent really matter to my ffamily but some might have issieissue

The perfect summer family vacation!

It was like coming home. You know when you walk into someone’s house and it just feels loved, calm and comfortable, that was the swift cottage. Because of that the famjam (we had our 4 kids with us, 5month old, 2.5,9&11 year old) all adjusted seamlessly. When we drove up I won’t lie we didn’t realize it was literally right beside the hwy60 and with little kids we were a bit worried but honestly it wasn’t an issue. The noise wasn’t an issue either you still hear the beauty trees surrounding the property and birds chirping. The rooms all have great space and the games room was epic for unwinding and rainy days. The walk-in level was also really cool temperature wise which was awesome since it was a heat wave. Despite that there were so many good fans too that we didn’t feel uncomfortable. The private gated beach and all the water toys was perfection. The Canoe, my dad (we surprised my parents with this trip and took them too) took out and he felt so good it had been years since he had paddled. There are also a ton of hiking trails close by. There is one literally down the road “beetle lake trail” that loops around the lake oxtongue but the bridge to link the sides broke so it’s two trails now and can’t do the loop. If you want a good lookout go to the other side of the lake entrance has 3 beautiful ones so we did that side of the trail. Rugged falls is also a 5 min drive and one of the top 10 waterfalls in Ontario. Can’t say enough about this place!

Great place for our group of 6! Private beach/fire pit area was very nice. Enjoyed being able to dock our boat. The beach is across the road which is a bit of a pain and odd that bedding is not included and needs to be reserved ahead of time. Overall, I would definitely stay again!

Great hosts and location!

This property is in a great spot and very close to the east gate of the park. The cabin was very clean and the hosts were highly responsive. Highly recommended!!!

Excellent propert

We truly enjoyed our stay at Swift cottage. The property was exactly as described. Beds were really comfortable, although no AC, there were sufficient fans to cool off. It was nice that it was so close to an outfitter store as we took advantage and rented kayaks for a day and paddled up to Ragged Falls, quite a neat experience. My only suggestion would be to let guests know that paper towels and toilet paper are not provided, it is quite far to go back for those amenities. I would definitely come back!!

Beautiful location and beach area.

Not aware that the property backed onto the main highway. Lots of traffic noise. Ceiling fans needed dusting and the bedroom windows cleaned. Screen door kept popping out. Deck chairs are old and need to be replaced. Couldn’t figure out how to use the keys. Thankfully we had the door code from the store. Also didn’t like bringing the bedding for 5 people. Covid isn’t spread that way. Lots of extra work I didn’t want to do on a vacation. Please review this outdated policy. Overall we enjoyed the property.

It is a great area to be.

We all enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately we can’t predict the weather accurately just the weather app lol. So we had a lot of rain. With that being said we did not get to do a lot of the things we wanted to do. But it is a great area to be right beside Algonkin Park. But the cottage is a great place to stay. Our children loved taking the canoes out on the lake. Thanks to Rich and Sue. Very nice couple.

What more do you need?

On the water with access to lakes, plenty of space. Firepit and dock for cabin use only. Comes with everything you need except for food and linen(covid req). A nice plus is decent wifi.
