Could not have been better. Warm welcome, comfortable, and well equipped with kitchen necessities, modern appliances. Beautifully furnished and great location. I have stayed in many places in France, and this was one of the best ever. For a delightful stay in a charming village, this is an ideal destination.

Séjour très agréable à Beaulieu sur Dordogne. De très beaux paysages ,des commerçants respectueux des touristes . Une mention très spéciale à Laura Garbett la propriétaire des lieux qui reçoit ses hôtes avec beaucoup de gentillesse et plein de petites attentions. L’appartement est rénové avec beaucoup de goût et est extrêmement propre. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir ! Béatrice Sureau

Beautifully restored apartment in charming village

We only had a short stay in this apartment and wished we could stay longer. The kitchen was well equipped and also included a washer. There were all the mod cons despite being in the shell of a 15th century home. The apartment we stayed in was on the first floor. A boulangerie is a few houses down and there is also a butcher around the corner. This region has many attractions close by: beautiful villages, natural points of interest such as caves to explore or river walks, and of course good food and wine. This apartment is perfect for relaxing or to use as a base for exploring the region. Our host Laura was very welcoming and provided lots of information for our visit.

L'appartement tout rénové dans un immeuble ancien était impeccable. Spacieux, joliment décoré, très bien situé, très tranquille, bien équipé (cuisine, TV, wi-fi, produit de base...) un endroit de rêve pour visiter toute la région. La proprio très sympathique et avenante. Un séjour parfait en tout point.

Beautifully presented apartment equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay.

We were greated by Laura who showed us around the apartment and made us feel very welcome.The apartment is in a lovely environment and is a great base from which explore the surrounding area.My wife Christine and I felt at home as soon as we arrived and sad when we had to leave! We will definitely be back!

Perfect place

La Dordogne is one of three apartments in Laura and Tom's renovated house. Each reflects excellent taste and concern for comfort. There is nothing lacking in the ground floor apartment that we occupied for a week. Everything was functional and clean. The bed was excellent as were the fixtures in the bathroom and kitchen appliances. The living room had places to sit in comfort and Laura even though to include a throw for a cool evening, although the heaters were adequate to keep us warm. The village has everything that one might need including a supermarket close by and an excellent Tourist Bureau. Laura was helpful, accommodating and well organized with a book of instructions as well as maps and other tourist material. One of the best places we've ever stayed, and we have been renting in France for over a decade.

Merci à Laura pour son accueil chaleureux et toutes ses attentions. Appartement top classe, cosy, très bien agencé. On s'y sent bien. Nous n'hésiterons pas à revenir. Beaulieu est un superbe village avec un programme d'animation très varié. Région très belle avec une multitude de villages qui valent le détour, sans oublier les restaurants. この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

The renovation of the house has been a rewarding experience. It had been left to ruin and many villagers thought it would have to be torn down. We have kept as many of the original interior features as possible. It was a 5 year project and a rewarding one to bring this building back to life.
In this apartment the massive cantou fireplace with its stone sides and huge wooden mantle now houses the kitchen units. The original stone sink now features below a new cabinet with original stonework on one side. The high ceilings of the kitchen and living room have the original exposed ceiling beams which are quite large in diameter. The lobby and stairwell back wall is of pointed stones. The colombage facade is original except where the bedroom is as this part of the house had fallen away.
We hope you enjoy the experience of living in a medieval village in a 15th century house with all the modern comforts and conveniences.

The colombage facade stands out boldy above the cobblestone lane. The wood carved window surrounds on the first floor date to the 15th century and are a rare example as most preserved ones are of stone. Each level of the house was built in a different era as we saw in the construction methods during the renovation. It is a little piece of history in a picturesque village. Being located in the old centre it is off the main road and an easy walk to everything you need especially the boulangerie just meters away! Our neighbours are all local residents, friendly and what makes a village come to life.
