A perfect place to stay
A lovely property warm and cosy for anytime of the year. Plenty of local information provided. Beautifully maintained.Easy access into York for all the attractions.
Beautiful cottage, very neat and comfortable will definitely be going back there again
Well equipped, lovely location for city access in a countryside setting
Myself, husband and two children (7 and 8) stayed in this delightful cottage. The upstairs kitchen/living space was well equipped with a variety of cooking utensils and pots and pans (not always so in self-catering properties), there was a lovely selection of games, books and dvds to choose from. The welcome gifts and provision of essentials such as soap, washing liquid, toilet roll, milk etc were greatly appreciated and again go to show the extra attention to detail and care put in by Sally and Andy.
The upstairs room did get quite hot during the lovely weather we had, and opening the windows and velux windows didn't bring in much of a breeze. This wasn't a problem for us as were often out, and so we didn't feel the need to ask Sally or Andy, but in the summer months maybe a fan would be provided.
The downstairs sleeping space, although fitted with bunk beds and a double bed still managed to feel spacious and light and airy. There was adequate storage for all of our clothes and we all found our mattresses and bedding very comfy.
The cottage itself it surrounded by lovely walks and yet is only a short distance from a train station which runs into both York and Leeds.
We had a lovely time exploring the area and utilising the local walks and attractions information provided in the cottage, though some of these could do with updating. Sally and Andy were available next door should we have needed to call on them, but were equally respectful of our privacy and opportunity to have a restful break.
Thank you for a lovely cottage and welcoming atmosphere.
Fantastic Property in a Quiet Location
This is a very well equipped, clean, warm and spacious Property in the heart of a very quiet Village.
A great deal of thought has gone into both the layout and equipment and the Hosts could not be nicer or more considerate, even providing a selection of Welcome Gifts for new arrivals.
There's everything you could possibly require for a Self-catering Stay, even down to a Dishwasher and Washing Machine.
The Entertainment Package includes a huge selection of Books, DVD's and CD's plus Sky TV.
There's a Full Cooker, Microwave and Fridge Freezer as well as the usual Tea, Coffee and Kettle etc.
In fact, it's a complete Home for the price of a reasonable Hotel Room!!
Access to places like Tadcaster and York couldn't be better as the main road is literally 2 minutes away, although you wouldn't even know it's there.
Many thanks Sally and Andy, I will definitely be back again very soon.
fabulous cttage in a great location, perfect for the family.
The cottage was lovely, warm and welcoming. There was ample room for us and our 3children and the cottage had everything we could need. The location was quiet and private, but ideally located to access York and the surrounding area. We used the train to travel in and out of York, as the local station was only a mile away and it only took 10-15 mins to get into York. The collection of board games and DVDs at the cottage kept everyone entertained in the evening and ensured we had a quality family weekend.
Lovely modern cottage, is a great size and comes with everything you need!
Overall my experience here was excellent. The property is in a good area, as it’s in within good proximity with the train station, pubs and shops. The owners are nice and friendly and were very welcoming when we arrived. The heating was on for us arriving along with chocolate and wine. The cottage had everything a normal house does, which made our time there a lot more relaxing and fun. I can’t wait to return.
Visit the historic walled city of York, with its famous Minster, Shambles and Castle Museum. Or visit cosmopolitan Leeds with theatres and art galleries a plenty, The Royal Armouries, Corn Exchange & Markets. The spa town of Harrogate, or the smaller market towns of Wetherby, Ripon, Pontefract, Thirsk, Northallerton or Skipton many with their own racecourses. Along with the above, visit one of two of the regions largest shopping malls, within 15 mins drive to McArthur Glen York or Junction 32 Castleford Xscape. Locally you can enjoy Lotherton Hall & Bird Gardens, Temple Newsam House & Gardens, Harewood House & Bird Gardens, Bramham Park, and Roundhay Park with its adjoining Tropical World. On our doorstep is the famous battle ground of Towton Moor where the War of the Roses took place in 1461. Due to our fantastic central location we are within easy reach of many fabulous attractions that Yorkshire has to offer. Too numerous to mention further details are displayed in our info pack.
