The Space:
Cabin on the Creek is a charming studio cabin located on the historic Freestone Inn Wilson Ranch property. Originally built in 1948 by ranch owner Jack Wilson, the cabin has been thoughtfully updated while retaining its historic character.
The single room serves as both bedroom and living space, with a king bed and a stone built gas fireplace. The front door opens into a galley kitchen with a two element electric cooktop, under counter refrigerator, microwave, sink, coffee maker, and a good selection of kitchen utensils and equipment. The bathroom is compact and includes a shower.
A separate door from the main room opens onto a small deck with a propane BBQ grill and a pair of Adirondack chairs, with a picnic table nearby. The cabin sits just a few short yards from Early Winters Creek.
The Methow Trails year round system is just steps away and is widely recognized as one of the finest Nordic ski trail networks in North America, with excellent mountain biking, trail running, and hiking in warmer months. North Cascade Heli Skiing also operates from Wilson Ranch, making this a convenient option for heli skiers. Guests should expect to see and hear helicopter takeoffs and landings during ski season.
Dogs are welcome. Cabin on the Creek is one of two adjacent studio cabins. Please see our listing for Creekside Bunkhouse if you are interested in booking both side by side. Beyond words beautiful!! The setting is breathtaking and the cabin is perfect, just the right size and equipped with everything you need. The owner, Jim, was also incredibly kind and helpful….impeccable customer service and focus that you don’t tend to get anymore these days. They also have two beautiful wooden chairs by the river out the back door, which is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee and absorbing this small piece of Heaven! 10/10, BOOK IT, you will not be disappointed!!!
My husband and our two dogs wanted to escape the celebrations of the Fourth of July and enjoy nature. We were so happy with everything we found with this cabin. It’s nestled nicely in the mountains, 25 minutes from the hikes we had earmarked to do, 5 miles to Manama and as peaceful as it gets. The sound of the creek was so beautiful to hear when we had the windows open or drank our morning coffee on the deck. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was a perfect size for what we needed. We enjoyed the pool one day after a long hike and truly had a wonderful weekend. The management team was extremely responsive to any of our questions even with how to find the shed to leave our trash at the end of the stay. We plan to come back soon. It was perfect.
Fantastic conditions for skiing right out our door. Cabin was very clean and updated from new ownership. Great to have Smart TV for evening shows. The kitchen is well supplied and understated in description as there is a premier coffee system and other cooking items. Hosts reliable in answering questions. Only problem we had was heater alarm one night (changed the setting to shut it off) and finding where to take trash (bit of a walk from cabin)
Beautiful location! We were the only ones it seemed staying in the cabins. Plenty of trails to explore within walking distance; my dog loved it. There were issues with the original cabin we were to stay in and the host resolved it by providing a different cabin at the same price with clear communication.
