Tiny House living at it's best! Great private outdoor space for Chillin' & Grillin'. A full bathroom inside & an outdoor shower with hot water! The perfect place to relax after a hike!

A comfortable and relaxing getaway, with lakes, rivers & mountains at your doorstep and only 1 hour to the Atlantic coast! Just 2 hours from the heart of Boston. Under 3 hours to the Canadian Border! 30 minutes to North Conway. The famous Tamworth Farmer's Market is within walking distance...Saturday mornings.
The space
If you have always wanted to experience what it's like to live in a tiny house...this is your chance! At just 170 square feet this space seems much bigger and has a very cozy homey feel.




The tiny house known as 'The Gatehouse' began its life as a quaint Art Gallery. It is right on the road between downtown Tamworth & Chocorua Village/Rt 16 (to North Conway).

Walking distance to the 'Pub on Page' wedding venue/bar & restaurant (under a 1/4 mile) and 1 mile to weekly famers market!

The house is ideal for 1-2 adults. It consists of hand-hewn beams with many reclaimed and recycled elements including an antique farmers sink, cabinets & a large colorful wall made with all reclaimed metal and wood that makes the outdoor space very secluded and private. THERE IS AN INDOOR SHOWER as well as an OUTDOOR SHOWER with hot & cold water that will really add to your experience! The private outdoor area has a covered outdoor cooking area & a propane grill. Hammock for relaxing and looking at the clouds & stars.

NOTE: We have been doing some updates...we will be updating pictures soon. All amenities are the same as advertised...JUST UPGRADED :)

You'll have fun discovering all the 'tiny' amenities :)

* Please note we have decided to use a bottom sheet and a duvet cover (European style) so there is not top sheet in the bed. It is provided in the space if needed. The duvet and comforter will be changed out between every guest. The difficulty of making that bed up is why we have made the change.

*We have also added a 10" firm foam mattress for you comfort.

* Please note some furnishings and decor/artwork may be different than in pictures (however the size of beds will remain the same). We update the decor as needed :)

Guests will enjoy exclusive access to the entire tiny house including adjacent private outdoor area, driveway and off street parking.

- The Public House on Page Hill (1/4 mile walking distance)
- Farmer's Market ( Saturday 9-12) less than 15 minute walk, Remick Farm Museum, Distillery, Coffee shop, Etc.)
-Club Motor Sports International Race Track is 10 minutes away

Other things to note
- The Gatehouse is a small, but spacious guesthouse that offers a sleeping loft with double bed accessible by a ladder. Make sure you are comfortable climbing a ladder before booking!

- We can provide a single folding roll away bed and linens in the case where two people want to stay but do not want to share a bed. The rollout bed and linens will be provided, upon request. ( please let us know at booking if you have 2 people who would like to sleep separately so we can accommodate you)

- Other guest units are within close proximity...though have more than enough private outdoor spaces. Do not disturb the other guests! Guests planning stays with potentially disruptive activities, should contact the Host with their plans prior to booking.

- Because if its location right on the road way between the picturesque villages of Chocorua & Tamworth...you may experience some road noise. This area has become more popular in recent years so the road has become busier...especially on the weekends.

- The Tiny house has a 20 gallon hot water heater. definitely enough for a good shower but you may want to not shower back to back or right after doing dishes etc. Give it time to catch up :) for your comfort. Just to be aware of the hot water use

- Feel free to move the 'more comfortable' chairs off the porch when using the outside yard and table. **Please put back after each use...as we leave them under the 'tiny' farmers porch to keep the cushions dry and clean from rain and tree debris

- The cell phone service is intermittent here at the house and not always reliable. WiFi is usually very good :)

- The compact architectural features that make this house unique also make this house not suitable for children of ages that require supervision ( 12 and under).

** Please be aware that we do not supply 'beach towels' or face cloths and
we would like all the towels we provide to stay on premises.

*Due to the climate here in northern New England we are not equipped with air conditioning...we do not seem to need it. We find other ways to keep the house as cool as possible. And there are many fun ways to chill out in the outdoor shower, lakes & rivers before the cooler evening mountain air comes back thru the windows :) So if AC is something you require you should consider this before booking.
