Great location with beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

The house is nice and big. We enjoyed the pool & ping pong table. Easy drive to Helen and awesome views. The bedrooms are nicely decorated. We enjoyed our stay and had a lot of fun hanging out at the house.

Stay Somewhere Else

  • 1 of 5

The view is the best asset of this mountain property.

Upon entering the house, the galley kitchen was inadequately stocked, the appliances were in poor condition (faucet, dish washer, coffee pot, toaster), and pots/pans had to be cleaned before using them-food particles were caked on the frying pan.

The bathrooms were stocked with stained washcloths, worn bath towels and no hand towels, and 2 of the bathrooms had nails sticking out from the walls.

The temperature was set to 72; however the main floor and upstairs registered a humid 74 in July, and the downstairs felt like you were in a freezer.

The instructions for the TVs were incomplete, and we had to clean the filthy remote controls before using them.

The layout of the house is odd, but the poor quality issues we experienced could easily be remedied by caring owners.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry that you did not have the great experience at our cabin, and this review helps us improving the cabin and training our new cleaning crew better. The kitchen has everything as listed on the website, and most of the appliances are less than six months old, including faucet, which was installed new with the granite countertops in 2018. The stove is only a few months old. It sounds like the dishwasher will be the next in our list, since it apparently has not worked well. The bathroom towels and cloths are constantly being checked and replaced if worn or stained, and there should have been several hand towels in each of the 3 bathrooms. we will keep an eye on these in the future, and make sure it won't happen again. There has not been an issue with nails sticking out the walls before, but I will go through them and make sure all decorations are in place and that there wont be empty hangers or protruding nails in any of these rustic wood walls in the future. There are two AC-units in this three story house, and both of those can be adjusted by the renter. Heat will naturally raise upstairs, and therefore we have supplied a separate AC unit in master bedroom, which is capable of cooling the top floor down, did you use it to reduce the 74 degree air upstairs (which is pretty cool in Georgia summer). The cool air downstairs is good to hear, since most of the time the air conditioning struggles to cool down the house when there is 90 degrees out. The main thermostat adjusting is in dining area, and can be adjusted by the renter, or even remotely if renter wished to do so. The TV:s have Dish Network receivers, blu-ray and dvd players, Netflix ability and Xbox connection downstairs. I understan it can be complicated with unfamiliar equipment, and I will add into provided instructions. The dirty remotes are unacceptable, and will not happen again, we have discussed this with our cleaning crew. All in all, we would have been happy to help on the phone, text or emails, and, if desired, we could have come there to fix all of them right away so you would have had a good weekend as other visitors have. The future guests will not have these issues. We are also sorry that we couldn't accommodate your request for extending your stay for free on the arrival day. Heikki Rinta-Koski Mountain Pitstop llc

Just so-so

  • 2 of 5

While the hydrangeas and views were beautiful and the hosts very responsive to our request for additional towels, the house itself was very disappointing. In my opinion, the whole house is begging to be tastefully redecorated and the bed linens refreshed. The lower level was a bit musty and felt damp. I would not re-book this property.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback, we appreciate the points, and will continue to develop this property. In particular there is a dehumidifier in the basement, I will check that it operates as planned. The bed linens are naturally washed between guests, and are always fresh. The covers and pillows are also freshened between guests. We will check the beddings, and decorations. We want our guests to enjoy the cabin as much as we do. I am sorry that your stay wasn't better, we would like to show the improvements for you in the future. Heikki Rinta-Koski Mountain Pitstop llc

Lots of room and nice views

  • 4 of 5

This chalet was great for a large family like ours. We had plenty of room with 4 adults, 2 children and a baby. The dining room table was plenty big for all of us to have a meal together. There are rooms on 3 different levels so everybody can kind of have some privacy. The huge rec room above the garage with the pool table is great as it is separate from the rooms so you don't have to worry about being too noisy. We played a lot of pool. The view from the deck is amazing. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet. The location is very convenient as you can be to downtown Helen in about 5 minutes or to a Walmart within about 15 minutes.

The owners are super nice and resolved a cleaning issue when we first arrived in a timely manner. The only disappointment we had was we could not get the xbox to work as it kept saying it needed a system upgrade and a storage device. We put some new batteries in the controllers but that didn't help. We did not bother the owners with this matter during our stay.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your stay and the review. We try our best to have great place for renters to stay, and nowadays these tv:s and game consoles have to update themselves before those can be continued to use. For some reason the XBox didn't do it automatically, and it needed a bit of help to get it back working. We did it after your stay, but would not mind at all doing it during the stay if convenient for the renter. Thank you again, and we hope to host for you in the future. Relaxing & fun family trip!

  • 5 of 5

Highlight: Pool table/Ping Pong table upstairs for adults and downstairs game room for kids. We loved that this was kept separate so the kids and adults could have their own fun time! We had 3 separate families house together and place was HUGE and provided more than enough privacy for all of us. Each family had their own full size bathrooms. The bathrooms were stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries. The view from the large decks were amazing!

Lowlights: Not really any at all, parking was a bit tricky but hey, that's a given with the area (you're in a mountainous area). Besides that, didn't have any issues!! Will definitely think about renting again!!
