Great stay here! Everything in San Juan was walking distance. Good location for visiting the fort. It was spacious and the A/C in the individual rooms was great. No issues there. Stay here if you want to be in the heart of it all (live Spanish music coming from the streets, etc.) The showers were a little weak (but that's typical in Latin America) and it can get hot in the unit before opening windows and doors but wow -- that Caribbean sea breeze is so refreshing! One thing I would suggest is a large oscillating floor fan for when it's not breezy. Oh -- and about the infamous spiral staircase -- haha it wasn't bad and really only 1.5 to 2 flights (the first flight up is actual stairs then you take the spiral stairs to the top unit). I would compare it with a lighthouse staircase. But it (and most other rentals) is on the top of OSJ, which is all inclined. So there is basically an uphill walk for 2 blocks but it's not bad at all. When you leave the location, turn right and walk downhill for a great breakfast spot (Cafe Manolin). There's also a SuperMax grocery store 6-min walk away where we stocked up on water, snacks, beer, rum, etc. Plenty of bars around the corner. A pharmacy a couple blocks away. Everything you need. I'd definitely stay here again!
