I've traveled a fair amount in New England, and so far this is easily in my top three places to stay. The cabin itself is beautiful and was very clean on arrival. Check-in was simple, and our host's communication was excellent. Just enough to give us all of the information that we needed and to make us feel welcome, but not at all intrusive. Love that from a host. And then there was the view.I'm not much of a wordsmith so I don't have the words to do it justice, but adjectives like "breathtaking" and "stunning" leap to mind. The first night we were treated to a sky that was blanketed with stars - honestly I've never seen anything quite like it despite having visited several dark sky sites. The next morning we awoke to a spectacular sunrise, and a heavy mist that had descended across the lakes that the cabin overlooks. It was as though the clouds had fallen from the sky, and the mountains had reached out to gently catch them. You could wait a lifetime to see something so spectacular.A glass of wine (generously provided by our host) by the fire pit was a highlight of our second night. Mountains, lakes, a fire, wine, and fresh air. Do I need to say that we slept like logs in the very comfortable bed?The only disappointment was leaving after such a delightful mini-vacation. I would highly recommend this property and the host to anyone looking to recharge and experience the majesty of New England.
