We had a great time in spite of the flooding that had recently happened and high water as there was plenty to do besides trout fishing. Very clean and as described. The owners were great and quick to communicate with.

This was our third trip to River Mist and it was the nice again excellent! Doug and Loraine are fantastic hosts and we will be back again to float down the river and enjoy the stars next to the fire pit!

What a great little cabin on the water! We had a great time in the woods with this secluded and quiet property. Perfect for our group of 4 and could easily with up to 6 people. Being on the creek for fishing and the sounds of rolling water was very relaxing. Rustic cabin feel with hot tub, grill, great porch overlooking the back yard and creek and fire pit for smores. It really is a great place. Only wish is we had more time to stay vs go home to work! Doug was easy and great to work with and communicated with me during our stay. We will be back!

River mist is a great place to relax and have a great time. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. It has outside games and a great fire pit area. The creek is awsome to hang out by and fish in. The hosts was great with getting the information to you with directions and access. We will definitely be coming back here again

This is a lovely, well maintained 2 bedroom cabin, but it is not 3 bedrooms as listed on this site. This posed an issue for my family: my husband and myself, our young son, and my disabled adult sister. As a result, my husband and I needed to share a bedroom with our son, which was not expected. Romantic indeed! The indoor common spaces are limited to a small living room and dine in kitchen (small but reasonably well appointed). The weather/river conditions were also not in our favor (no fault of the property owners) which aggravated the condition of having limited space to relax indoors.Following the first rough night, I contacted the property owners to see if it would be possible to receive a partial refund if we chose to cut our stay short in light of the inaccurate listing. I was told that would not be possible. The property owner stated that the description and the photos accurately show that this is a 2 bedroom property. I disagree. The listing shows 3 bedrooms and that bedroom 2 and 3 each have a queen bed. For accuracy, this should show 2 bedrooms and that bedroom 2 has 2 queen beds. Also, the photos of the loft are angled in a manner that does not clearly show that it is one open room. Ultimately we chose to depart a day early even without a partial refund. As parents and caregivers who work hard and save to take our family on a vacation, this was a bummer. If you are good with 2 bedrooms, this may be a good option, but if you need more space, keep looking!

Hi Serena, Wow what a long review! A 3 Star review at that— only our 2nd one in 10 years! We provide detailed descriptions and 50 photos showing RiverMistCabin so you know exactly what we have to offer. Obviously reviewing what you’re booking and communication is key. 3 sleeping quarters should be plenty for your small party. Please know we respond quickly to any questions you may have. We were so worried that you had forgotten your booking as the payment reminders were ignored until the last minute. So glad your family decided to come. We truly strive to provide all the romantic elements regardless how many guests, ie: beautiful hot tub, comfortable thick mattresses, river front cabin, charming fire pit, private and secluded location, etc. sorry it still wasn’t enough. Your add’l guests might have been best served in the upstairs bedrooms. We also provide a sleeper sofa for more than 6 guests. We provide many different options for sleeping arrangements. Sorry the weather aggravated you also and didn’t cooperate, this summer has had some pop-up showers that leave as quickly as they roll in. Hopefully, next visit, you will relax and find more time to spend here in Blue Ridge for rest and romance!

My husband and I enjoyed staying at Rivermist. Great place for a quiet and relaxing getaway. The cabin is quaint and cozy. The outside is beautiful. We were there in February and the weather prevented us from getting in the river but we enjoyed the hot tub. Doug was welcoming and helpful with tips on how to maneuver the roads since they had had a melt from a recent snow. Check in and out went smooth. Be sure to allow some extra time upon check out for washing towels and putting them in the dryer. I did cook some meals while there and will say that some of the cookware needs to be updated. Easy fix, tho.Overall, 5 stars.

Great Cozy Cabin

This place is picturesque cabin. The views were spectacular. The cabin was cozy and the owners were great. It was a great place to spend time together as a family. You will not be disappointed.

Lovely cabin, all the aminities you would expect.Trout fishing was awsume and loved the peice and quite of lounging on the deck. Drive way was a breeze to get up and down in a mini van ft wheel drive. Blue ridge is very nice and so is mcaysville. Our 2nd year visting the area. Owner was very nice and called just to check in.

Such a cozy, quaint, perfect cabin! The location is perfect right along the creek for those of you who don’t like those mountain roads ! The owners are very communicative and nice to deal with (for lack of a better word). Very convenient to downtown blue ridge. Would definitely definitely stay here again. It’s just beautiful. Very Hansel and Gretle like. We loved it! And wished we had more time there.

We enjoy the quiet here but also the many outdoor activities available in this area. Our favorite activities are fishing, tubing, rafting, exploring & sitting on the deck looking at the sparkling river. Even in the winter, we love sitting on the upper deck rocking chairs or the sofa downstairs, drinking hot Irish Coffee and watching the river flow by on a Saturday morning after a hard week of work in the city. What therapy! I always enjoy driving up here from the south and seeing the first set of Blue Ridge Mountains on the skyline, just makes you take that long awaited exhale -- like you're finally at home again. Guess I'm a mountain man after all. Ya'll come on over here and enjoy!

This area has all of the outdoor activities we could ever ask for plus exceptional outdoor beauty, it also makes a very romantic get away. There's nothing that compares to watching a Blue Herring at the bank of Fighting Town creek hunting trout. They get really big up here, wing span of 6'. The stars above on a clear night will AMAZE you! It is very convenient to the town of Blue Ridge, McCaysville, Atlanta, Chattanooga & Knoxville. In the heat of summer it is so nice to wade into what we call our natural whirlpool (middle of the creek there is a 4.5' bowl of water) deep enough to sit on the boulders there and keep your head above water. I've almost fallen asleep there it's so relaxing. We had a renter that said that's about all they did when they were here last June. They call places like this 'God's Country', I can understand why. You really connect with nature up here. I couldn't live without our cabin now that my family has experienced it. We want to share it with everybody! I could go on and on -- the scent of the white pinewood when you open the cabin door, the hummingbirds that buzz by in the mornings, the distant howl of a coyote and her pups. Just Awesome. We love to hike the Blue Ridge Mountains, go riding the 4-wheelers, fishing and tubing. I'll trade a beach get-away for this 3 to 1.
