Chad and Sue are in there middle years and have lived on the Island for over 25 years. We have been managing Aloha Lani for many years and do all of the yard work on our 3 acres. We do the house keeping for the rental ourselves so every detail is taken car off. This keeps us very busy but we love it. We gather fruit from our trees every morning and fell blessed to live here. We love sharing our bit of paradise with our guest.
Chad purchased this House in 1996
Why Chad chose Pahoa
Just a 4 minute walk down our drive to the ocean and a beautiful and pristine undeveloped coastline owned by the State that runs miles in either direction. It is much like when the Hawaiians lived here. We can walk to a Black sand beach about a mile from us. The location and feeling of old Hawaii is why we are on this property.
What makes this House unique
Privacy in a beautiful setting with an ocean view. You will be staying in a comfortable home on 3 tropical landscaped Acres located just 800 ft from the ocean an easy walk down our drive way. There you will find miles of undeveloped coastline that looks just like it did when the Hawaiians lived in this area. Original rock walls that they built are still visible. At our drive way entrance the coast road is covered over by a grove of very old kamani trees to crate one of the best photo opts to be found on Island. It has been used by many artiest over the years. The felling of old Hawaii is very much alive around us something that cannot be found in a subdivision type of setting. This is what makes our are and place special. We love to share this with people because they love being here.

We loved our stay! It was peaceful, relaxing and beautiful! Thank you!!! We look forward to coming back for another visit.
We stayed at Chad and Sue's property for a week following 10 days at a 4 star resort in Kaua'i. Our goal was to decompress, relax and feed our senses. Goal accomplished! Aloha Lani is a hidden gem, out of sight and sound of the road and neighbors. As promised, we were surrounded by breathtaking ocean views and lush gardens, with Chad and Sue within calling distance to answer questions and offer recommendations (THANK YOU for recommending Hilo Bay Cafe, Sue!). They even gifted us with fresh, ripe lemons and avacodos grown on the grounds. The location was ideal, both as a place to soak up the Aloha spirit, and as a home base after travels around the island. We fell asleep every night to cool breezes and sounds of nature, and awoke each day still agog at the beauty right outside the windows. We heartily recommend this property to anyone looking to get away from it all! Mahalo, Chad and Sue!
Mahalo to Lynda for sharing her experience at aloha Lani. We feel lucky to live
with such beauty and like sharing it with our guest. Chad and Sue
Amazing property, great stay!
We stayed at the Aloha Lani in Feb with our 10 month old baby. The house was impeccably clean, with clear instructions for everything and felt homey and welcoming.
The location is great as it is removed from the "touristy" area of the island, yet close to enough to activities like black sand beach and a tide pools for snorkeling. It is about a 45 min drive to Hilo and Volcano National Park.
Chad and Sue were onsite, super helpful and very accommodating. Such a nice and friendly couple!
This is a great home to relax and enjoy the beauty of the big island. We would highly recommend it and would stay here again!
Beautiful setting & plenty of Aloha
The house worked really well for our family of four and our little girls enjoyed exploring the large grounds and seeing the many different plants. Chad and Sue were very welcoming, helpful and generous with fruit from their many trees. The location is definitely secluded, but it was very easy to get to Pahoa and Puna's many sights. A lovely stop during our vacation!
It was great to meet Hilery and her family and thank her for her review. Chad and Sue
beautiful place, great location, wonderful hosts
Chad and Sue were gracious, informative, and kind. We were impressed by how much they had done in the past 5 years to move off the electric grid. The site is wonderful, the house is great, and the location made it easy to get to good snorkeling. The fruit and vegetables they provided were super - and there were so many, we had to leave food behind. Thanks for another great stay!
We really enjoy having Tina stay with us and we welcome them back
on there next trip to HI. Chad and Sue
Too short - such a beautiful property
My cousin and I made a quick trip to the Big Island from Oahu. We choose the perfect place to stay! Sue and Chad were so welcoming and shared their knowledge of the area. We are looking forward to returning for a longer stay. Your house is perfect and the ultimate in peaceful!
Short WALK you can for a fee use a Hot tub and Swim in Olympic Sized Pool, or get a Massage, take part in a Yoga or Hula Class. Also get a meal or snack. Short drive to a black sand beach for Whale & Turtle Watching, A little further is Kapoho Tide Pools, Warm Ponds, Lava Tree Park, Botanical Gardens, Akaka and Other Waterfalls, Farmers Markets in Hilo, Keaau, & Pahoa (for Fresh Fruits, Vegetables and Local Artisans) as well as a variety of Restaurants and Natural Food Stores. There are two must go to restaurants in Pahoa that we recommend to our guest in Pahoa just 20 minuets away.
