The parking was a little tight for a truck with a boat hooked up. The keys provided did not work in the door so we had to leave it unlocked during our stay. Some of the electrical outlets did not work and the windows did not have screens on them. Everything else was fine.

Jason, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sincerely sorry to hear that your stay did not fully meet your expectations, and I appreciate the opportunity to respond. Regarding the parking, we typically receive very positive feedback about the driveway and parking area, as there is space for up to six cars. That said, I understand that parking with boats or trailers can feel different depending on how vehicles are positioned. Most guests who bring boats usually disconnect them and park the vehicles and trailers side by side. To help future guests plan more confidently, I will look into adding a clear photo of the parking area to the listing. We have also taken care of the front door key issue. As I mentioned during check-in, our housekeeper noticed the key was sticking, likely due to the extreme heat wave we were experiencing at the time. The repair was completed after your departure, and everything is now working properly. I will also review our check-in manual to make sure the lighting and electrical switches are explained more clearly. Because the home is older, some of the bedroom lamps are connected to wall switches, which can be confusing if guests are not expecting it. As for the window screens, the area can experience very strong winds, and screens often collect dust, dirt, and spiders. For that reason, some are removed seasonally or as needed to keep the home cleaner and better maintained. I’ll revisit how this is described in the listing and

My husband and I came for a mom and dad get away and this was the perfect house to do so! It was BEAUTIFUL inside and out! Being able to wake up and walk right out on to the water for morning coffee was the highlight!

Fishing Trip

This was the second time I've stayed at this house. What a great place. Caught plenty fish for a fish fry and a few clayfish. Only problem was the wind. Would love to stay here again. It's everything you can ask for in the house and fishing.

Perfect hideaway!

The A frame home is charming, comfortable, and in a perfect location to get away without going too far. Cozy restaurants are within walking distance and the marinas offer a variety of water access. We loved bringing our breakfasts and dinners out on the oversized dock.

Very nice home

We only had the lower floor but it was comfortable and fishing from the dock was fun. We would use it again.

My real issue is not with the house as much as it is the location! Because the address is provided close to the date of departure, I had no idea the house was on Bethel Island because my search was for a place near the river in Stockton, CA. My main focus is to fish and although that is available at this property, it was not what I wanted and I should have been told this at the time of my search. What I thought I paid for was a property in Stockton. The accommodation was adequate, meaning that it had a working bathroom, kitchen sink, gas stove, microwave and refrigerator. There is work being done (or needs to be finished) so some things were not working properly, especially the wall plugs. Both rooms used low lighting lamps. There were no screens and lots of bugs so when it got hot, there was little alternative. The kitchen was the most efficient room although, upon arrival there was no hot water. The bathroom was not as clean as I would have expected and there was a color changing light bulb that was annoying. My real issue is not with the house as much as it is the location! Dear Kim, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m truly sorry that your stay did not feel as comfortable or easy as we would have hoped. We want every guest to arrive feeling settled and well taken care of, so I appreciate you letting us know where things felt unclear. I’m sorry the location was not what you expected. The California Delta is a large area, and while I do not control exactly how the booking platform displays the address before arrival, I completely understand how it would be helpful to make Bethel Island more visible in the listing. I will review the listing to see where I can make that clearer for future guests. I also apologize for the confusion with the air conditioning and window screens. The home does have central air, with the controls located in the main hallway, but I can see that the Welcome Guide may not have made that obvious enough. If you thought opening the windows was the only way to cool the house, I completely understand why the missing screens would have been frustrating and why you would be concerned about bugs getting inside. Some screens have been removed because the Delta winds make them very difficult to keep clean, and they tend to collect dust, spiders, and spiderwebs quickly. That said, I realize this would have felt much more inconvenient if you were relying on the windows for airflow. I will update the Welcome Guide to make the central air instructions much clearer and will also better explain the screen situation so future guests know what to expect. The same is true for the lighting. Some of the lamps are connected to wall switches, which can definitely be confusing if you are not familiar with the home. Thank you for pointing that out — I’ll make sure it is explained more clearly. Regarding the light bulb, I’m sorry for the inconvenience. We have replaced it. We do use smart lights throughout the house, so my best guess is that the color-changing feature may have been involved, although this is not something previous guests have mentioned. Either way, we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Again, I’m sorry your stay did not meet your expectations. I truly appreciate your feedback, and we will use it to make the listing and Welcome Guide clearer for future guests. Warmly, Gloria

Bethel Island Cabin

This downstairs unit has lovely decor and many amenities. Loved that they have several different types of beds and pillow sizes so we slept really well. It was a perfect location between San Francisco and Sacramento as we needed to be in both locations. There's no view of the river from the unit which wasn't clear in initial booking but the available dock was very nice.

It's out there

If you want a get away that is in a small neighborhood pretty much miles from any activities including restaurants, groceries, fun stuff, this is it. The dock is great but the path getting there is a little tough. Bring a boat!
