The cabin was exactly as expected. Everything was clean and welcoming. Plenty of space for us to spread out. All the supplies you could need to cook a meal, including a crockpot. Lots of towels for each bathroom. I can't say enough about the sunsets. We enjoyed sitting on the decks and watching the sunset each evening. We were greeted each morning by a family of deer passing through the yard. I hope to get the chance to return again someday. If you are looking for a clean, peaceful place to stay with an amazing view I highly recommend Horizons cabin.

The property is a beautiful one, and the views are unparalleled. It is a very comfortable, roomy cabin that is perfect for a large group of family members traveling together. The kitchen is well-appointed, and the host even has a large collection of basic cooking supplies as well. The only negative is that it is quite a long way up a winding road from the gate to the property, so one has to factor that in on travel times especially if walking. Communications with the host were clear and timely.

Wedding weekend

We had a wonderful stay. It was our son’s wedding weekend and the cabin was perfect. Very well appointed, super comfy beds, and immaculately clean. We couldn’t have been more pleased. We would love to come again sometime!

Loved it!

My beloved and I were floored by the tasteful accommodations at this property. Bob was a perfect host to our weekend. Every detail was thought of beforehand. The view was unbelievable and we truly enjoyed our short stay at this cabin. We will be back! Thankyou for making our getaway so amazing.

Incredible Views!

We had an amazing 5 days. The cabin was perfect in so many ways. Three levels, with one room on each level, made it perfect for families/teens to have their own space and yet lots of togetherness. It was very clean and well stocked. Best part was waking up every morning to sit on the comfy couch in front of the fireplace drinking my coffee and watching the sun light up the mountains. If the morning view was beautiful, wait until you see the sunset. We actually came back to the cabin early from our hikes just so we could enjoy it. We would stay in this cabin again and again.

Gorgeous

We had high expectations based on the current photos and reviews, and I have to say they were exceeded! The cabin is lovely, and the view was amazing. We sat outside for meals, just soaking up the scenery. We were very pleased that the three bedrooms basically had their own living spaces, so we all had privacy from each other when we wanted it. The fireplace added warmth and ambiance inside, and the fire pit was great the night we used it. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable furniture and beds, and spotlessly clean. The location is a bit remote, but we visited both Asheville and Chimney Rock State park for day trips, and the hour drive didn't seem too onerous since the scenery was so beautiful.

My husband, brother and sister-in-law stayed at the house over the Thanksgiving holiday. Our one problem was finding the house for the first time at night. It is the first house on the right after turning onto West Ridge and is easy to miss. The house is spacious, beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and generous. We all wished we could have been there at a warmer time of year to take advantage of the rocking chairs on the porch. Sadly my husband had a heart attack on Thanksgiving Day and died a few days later in Charlotte. I do want to share this because the emergency responders were there in 10 minutes. The regional hospital in Shelby was excellent. They had a helicopter waiting to whisk him to Charlotte. We could not have asked for better care. It is comforting to know that this lovely house on top of a mountain is also close to emergency medical resources.

Yes, It Was That Good

A spectacular panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from 3 diffferent levels. The stress just melted away as we just sat and adored. In today's hubub the serenity and total quiet was awesome. No dogs barking. No car or truck noise. A secluded location where you see no one. The house was as advertised. There was plenty of space for you either to play games as a group or separate and go and read a book in a quiet corner. All the pots and utensils with paper goods made this easy to adapt to. The AC worked great as did the internet and TV. I strongly suggest you take a look. The sunsets will knock your socks off.

The Squatch is friendly!!

Oh what a perfect place to unwind after a crazy hectic wedding week!! We enjoyed this cabin immensely!! It is so well stocked I had my happy face on the entire time!!!
