Everything was great, the only thing we did not like was the location of the hot tub, cleanliness of the hot tub and getting in and out of it was a little awkward. We really enjoyed the seating area on the front porch. Overall we would stay here again.
This property was stocked with everything that your group could need, from cookware to games. This house felt secluded yet was close to all that Ashville had to offer! Beds were comfortable which is a huge plus for me! I would definitely stay here again!
The home was excellent for a family retreat, very clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The kitchen was so well equipped and the outside decks were wonderful and so cozy. The host was very communicative and welcoming as well!
Delightfully cozy cottage with hot tub on a hill that was perfect for a friends’ weekend getaway. Kitchen was well equipped and there was lots of space to lounge and enjoy the fireplace. Short drive to everywhere and Monica was a great host! We will be back!
Our family very much enjoyed our stay at this VRBO rental. The host was very accommodating, the house was very clean and welcoming. Highly recommend this home, it is very cozy and comfortable, lots to do at the house if staying in, and very near many fun destinations in Asheville, NC. Would most definitely consider staying here again if returning for a stay in Asheville.
Kind and caring host. Brought a garage door opener when we couldn't find one. The house was clean, spacious, and close to downtown Asheville. We enjoyed a lovely family weekend!
Fantastic Stay with a Wonderful Host! Our 10-person family stayed at this lovely home for the weekend! It really was like a home away from home, all the amenities and personal details. Plenty of space for watching the Olympics and Super Bowl together, playing ping pong and board games! Monica, our hostess, was a great communicator and made sure any questions were answered promptly! We felt so welcome! Looking forward to coming back in warmer weather so that we can enjoy the relaxing outdoor spaces - porches, hot tub & hiking! Highly recommend!!
Came for a cousin weekend. Very beautiful property. Very clean and the host was very nice and made sure we had whatever we needed. Highly recommend and we will be coming back to stay again.
Wonderful stay! The house was beautiful and so comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the family room with the fireplace was perfect for relaxing. Beds were super comfy, and the location was gorgeous—amazing fall views and even a couple of bear sightings! Close to downtown Asheville but still peaceful and secluded. The host was friendly, responsive, and made everything easy. Highly recommend!
Truly a perfect house to stay in if you want the joy of sitting on a porch with morning coffee and looking at the mountains while also being 6 min from downtown Asheville! We couldn't believe how close all the breweries were and how easy everything was. Extremely comfortable beds and so much space - we loved our stay and would absolutely come again!
This property was clean and fairly close to downtown. It is a bit dated and can use some remodeling in kitchen and baths. Bedrooms are very spacious. We stayed for a girls weekend and it was enjoyable, especially like the front porch, deck and fire pit.
We stayed here for a wedding and it was perfect for our group. Great location and very well equipped house.

About the host
Hosted by Monica Tilhou
Hi! My name is Monica and thank you for reading about my precious property!
I grew up north of Chicago and relocated to this vibrant city in 2010. I bought this home and have been enjoying the process of continually transforming it into a real beauty! Throughout the remodeling process, I’ve been able to decorate it as a very appealing and highly satisfying home.
My life's work/project- my 3 wonderful adult kids and 5 grandkids- were the inspiration for this remodeling project! Because I want to keep them visiting me here, I had the incentive to make this a warm, yet somewhat “luxurious” mountain retreat!
I travel occasionally but will usually be here in town at a nearby home during your stay. It's always a pleasure to greet guests and welcome them to my home, so I look forward to meeting you and showing you around the house and grounds personally- it would be my pleasure!
I truly hope you enjoy your stay- your days and nights (on the front porch with a fire!?) while you're here in lovely Asheville!
Why they chose this property
As I searched for a home close to town to purchase, I was drawn immediately to this lovely, picturesque spot overlooking a pond and facing an evergreen mountain that fills the view! I knew I had to live here!
So, after purchasing it in the Spring of 2013, I undertook dramatic renovations which have brought great response and delight to family and visitors alike. It's been great fun!
I'm proud of the place and pleased to offer a home of this caliber so close to town... 5 minutes! Great views, large front porch, back “games” porch, gourmet kitchen, 6-7 person new hot tub and a secluded front and backyard.
Also, if you are arriving from several directions, easy parking for up to four cars is available at the house with a seperate turnaround green space.
What makes this property unique
This home is perfect for a family get-together out in the woods w/ a terrific view
While enjoying the Living Room, relax on the long leather sofa with extra seating. The room features a candelabra, a mountain-view and often a roaring fireplace! Piano in the dining room for music lovers~ Great neighborhood for walking, too! Three laps around the pond below is about a mile!
A slow, one-way path around this pond takes you through our quiet, little neighborhood. Please observe a 10pm curfew on loud, outdoor gatherings. Revelry on the front porch or up in the acres of woods above carries an echo "heard all 'round the pond!". So do, please, respect this curfew each evening. Thanks so much!
