I will stay at Castle Idlewild was wonderful. Everything was perfect. I would say the only thing that they lacked in was we had to fill up the tub 2 to 3 times with hot water so we can sit and soak in the tub for relaxation which was so wonderful truly recommend this jewel to everyone.
We had an amazing time at this property! So close to all amenities! Made for a perfect last minute 4th of July getaway. The host was a great communicator!
This home is so cozy and absolutely beautiful! Perfect location near Poconos! We had an awesome weekend skiing and this home is located 30 minutes or less to resorts, shops and restaurants! Jenny is a great host and was very flexible. She was kind and caring. We enjoyed our stay! The beds were slightly uncomfortable because they were quite firm. But that is just a personal preference. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a stay near the Poconos! Would definitely book again!
The house was very clean, and the host was great! Just FYI there is no A/C in the upstairs bedroom, so if your staying during the summer it can get a little warm, and to get a pool pass it is 12 a person per day.
We enjoyed our stay! We even had some snow to make it more.magical. our daughter was so excited to play in the snow as well as our two mini schnauzers. Had everything we needed and the cabin stayed nice and warm!
This was our first time every staying in an air b and b...or using vrbo. It was a great choice! The property was absolutely beautiful. Looks just the photos. The backyard is a great private area, we did fires...played yard games, etc...the deer literally walk right up to you...it was amazing. Not only was the property great...but Jenny was also fantastic. She was very responsive...we had some questions along the way and she would respond within minutes. We highly recommend!!!
Cute little cabin the in woods with great views of wildlife in the backyard. The check-in process was super easy, the house was clean and well stocked with kitchenware and supplies, and the neighborhood was quiet. We were able to sit in the backyard and relax and watch all the deer go by.
The house was absolutely wonderful! It was comfortable, absolutely pet friendly. The house is cozy and my children as well as myself and partner loved it. The communication between us and the host was perfect. The community was really nice. There are lots of family activities all around. We absolutely loved it. I would absolutely do this whole vacation again. Loved it!
Home was very cute! We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had some deer visitors and a local cat hung out in the yard us which my daughters thought was cool. Our dog made herself comfy and quickly adjusted the pen used for potty time. Only complaint was the lake was closed the whole visit which was our reasin for visiting. The closest pool was also closed. Not the owners fault and doesnt reflect on the accommodations. Owner was very responsive. Thankyou for sharing your home.
The house is charming and quite comfortable. We were happy to see that there is a designated fenced run for our dog. This was a pleasant surprise and made it so much easier for the dog to go out and in off the deck. The air conditioning kept the first floor very cool and comfortable, and the ceiling fan and floor fans helped to spread the cool air to the upstairs bedrooms. It is so peaceful to sit on the deck and watch the deer pass through the yard. The kitchen is well stocked with just about any appliance that you could need. There are even a set of sturdy bowls for your dog to use. Wow!!

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Cleanliness
Not what we expected and ended up leaving a day early. House could use some major upgrades particularly in the kitchen...outdated appliances and leftover food and condiments in the refrigerator is not what we are used to. Host was responsive when I told her about the conditions of the bathroom upon arrival. Not to mention she let us know the microwave was not working a few hours prior to checking in which made things very difficult with kids during our stay. Owner did waive fee after she stated we didn't mention we had a dog due to the non working microwave. However, the dog was stated on the registration form, but may have been an error on my part. Recommendation for others is to request RECENT pictures of backyard, appliances, kitchen, and bathrooms prior to booking.
Thank you, hope to host you and your family again soon. Happy holidays!!
About the host

I'm a marketing professional who lives mainly in NYC with my son and 2 dogs. We love escaping the city to the Pocono Mountains.
Why they chose this property
We can hang out at home or partake in one of the many activities nearby. The community is surrounded by nature and near a state park. There are lots of amenities in the community and attractions nearby. Whether you're active and/or like to relax with a glass of wine you can do it all.
What makes this property unique
The yard leads into a state park, guaranteeing privacy except for the occasional deer that likes to wander through the property. There are plenty of board games to keep a group entertained for hours, and outdoor games can be played on the lawn.
