We love Hawaii and the ocean, sailing, surfing, snorkeling, photography, hiking and exploring. We bought this amazing home that we share with our special guests to really appreciate the beauty and serenity of North Shore, Oahu.
Chris M. purchased this House in 2015
Why Chris M. chose Haleiwa
We bought this home because the it was the most incredible home we had ever seen. The house is like a museum and has incredible views. There is nothing quite like it. The property has park like grounds, a garden with fresh vegetables, fruit trees and privacy. It sits on a half acre of ocean front property with 200 feet of ocean frontage. We know you will love the home as well as we do. It is amazing.

The house and view were spectalular. It was so private and relaxing.
We appreciated the design of the house and all the furnishings, artwork and gardens. We love to cook and the kitchen was well equipped and designed. Mike, the caretaker was awesome. He was able to bring us ripe bananas and coconuts from the trees and caught us fresh fish! We used herbs and vegetables from the garden to cook with the fish. The view from the deck was so spectacular that we never wanted to go inside. The pool and hot tub were an added bonus with views of the ocean/seascape. A truly unforgettable experience for our family. Thank You!
Thanks for the wonderful review!
Another amazing stay!!!
This was the second time my family and I stayed at this beautiful home, and we loved it just as much as the first time. It's truly a little slice of heaven. It is such a beautiful home with amazing views and amenities, in fact, my mother and I barely left the house because we were so blissfully happy and content with our surroundings. I could not recommend this home more! It is worth every penny and Chris and Mike are super sweet and accommodating!! thank you so much for another amazing trip! We will surely see you again next summer!
This was our first time on the Oahu north shore (we have been to Kauai, Big Island and Maui before) and we loved the house. Beautiful, well equipped, comfortable, amazing views etc. Chris and Mike were extremely helpful and we could not have been happier with our stay!
Truly amazing property and experience!
I can't really put into words how beautiful this house/setting is. The house and view will blow you away! The photos truly don't do it justice, you have to see it for yourself. It feels like you are on a movie set.
It is huge; the large rooms and high ceilings provided more than ample room for our two families (eight of us altogether). And the expansive porch and yard area provides even more space for those who need their space. My kids LOVED the outside shower! The bathrooms were well stocked with toiletries, the kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, and even laundry supplies are provided, . Not to mention the vegetable garden, and the banana, coconut and papaya trees!
Chris is extremely helpful and Mike, the caretaker, is a treat! He taught us how to open coconuts and was a wealth of information about hiking and all things Hawaii.
Everything you need is there-- from the pool and jacuzzi to the beach chairs, toys and boogie boards, But you are also only a short distance (1/2 mile) from Waimea Bay beach which is excellent for snorkeling or jumping off rocks.
We ventured into town for dinner a few nights or grilled and played cards on the deck by moonlight on others. We loved our family time.
The only chore was to make sure the wooden counters and tables were kept free from rings or stains -- they are so beautiful but so difficult to keep dry.
We've stayed in nearly a dozen rental houses over the years and this was honestly the most beautiful place we've ever stayed. It is simply spectacular!
Could not have chosen a better place! Amazing location!
When we arrived, our whole family was blown away by the beauty of this house and the views from it. The photos online are very nice but they don't do this gorgeous place justice! The house was immaculate with tons of space that fit our group of seven people very comfortably. The house was extremely clean and the rooms all had comfortable beds and furniture. We stayed in the master bedroom and waking up to the views outside our bedroom was a surreal experience. The master shower was enormous and I still miss it while my wife misses the relaxing bathtub.
The views of the ocean were amazing with plenty of outdoor furniture and a hammock to enjoy the views of the sunset and waves. We really enjoyed spending time in the backyard relaxing, cooking on the BBQ, or hanging in the jacuzzi. And our kids really loved swimming in the pool! There are plenty of supplies provided including towels, toiletries, kitchen items, and anything you need for the beach.
The yard had banana trees, a papaya tree, vegetable garden, and coconut trees. Unfortunately, we didn't eat any of these but when we come back we definitely will try some of these, and the avocado tree as well!
There is a nearby grocery store to get any food you need, and the town of Halaiwea is a short distance down the road where you can shop, get something to eat, or cool off with some shaved ice. There are also plenty of beaches nearby including one where you can see turtles come up on the shore. We also enjoyed Waimea Bay just down the road where they have a beautiful botanical garden and very nice luau.
Lastly, we have to give a shout out to Mike the caretaker of the house who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Mike made everything so comfortable and knew all the answers to any questions we had.
We can't recommend this place highly enough and have already told several of our friends about it so if you are planning to visit Oahu you can't go wrong staying here.
My family and I had high expectations about our stay due to the other reviews and pictures posted by Chris. We were not disappointed. In fact, our experience exceeded expectations in every way. Our group consisted of six adults and two small children.
The house: What can I say? It's amazing. The pictures really don't do it justice. It's very large and the open living room/kitchen/entry are amazing. The design of the home with nothing but windows facing the ocean couldn't have been better. If you want an ocean view, this house delivers. The kitchen was great. In terms of what to bring, everything but your food is provided. Lots of pots, pans, and utensils. We were surprised with the amount of spices available for cooking. The fridge and freezer had adequate space. The most surprising aspect was the master bedroom. It's way undersold with the posted pictures. It's large with ocean facing views. The bed is really, really comfortable. There's a walk-in closet, double sink vanity, and beautiful tub. The best feature is the master shower. It's very large with five shower heads and also doubles as a steam room. The other surprising aspect was the guest house. It's large. My son, daughter-in-law and two small boys stayed in the guest home and had room to spare. Our only suggestion is adding a small mini-fridge and microwave to the guest home.
While the home is perfect, the grounds and location are what makes it paradise. The back deck facing the ocean is beautifully designed. Comfortable lounge chairs and a large dining table made it a place we loved being. The views are really something else. The grounds are truly paradise. We met the caretaker. Great guy that has a passion for the upkeep of the property. The veggies and fruit were great. We spent every evening in the pool (which was larger than pictured) and in the hot tub every night watching the sun set. The pool and hot but are literally on the water's edge. There isn't any sand off the back of the property, but Waimea Bay and Alligator Rock are very short distances on either side the home. We visited in July, so the waves were small. We snorkeled every day and discovered a small family of turtles that live by the home. It's pretty good snorkeling when the tide is out. Plenty of snorkeling gear, boogie boards, and two small surf boards are supplied. Also eight or so beach chairs. There's an outdoor shower that was also useful.
Chris was amazing to work with. We plan to return!
Our home is located on the North Shore 2 miles north of Haleiwa Town and 1/2 mile south of Waimea Bay.
The North Shore is known for its open space with very little development, beautiful country pastures, picture postcard beaches, turtles, fabulous surfing and the best snorkeling on the island.
Haleiwa has at least fifteen restaurants, many shops , grocery stores and a large drug store. Here you can learn to surf, or paddle board down the river, or go out for great fishing, or try the shark dive from a cage. Nearby is an airport if you like sky diving or take a glider ride and there is a Polo field and horseback riding.
There are excellent walking and hiking trails throughout the North Shore. North of our home one mile in the Pupukea area you will find ten or more casual eating trucks that serve pretty good food. There is a Foodland, which is a very well stocked grocery store. Here you will find great snorkeling at Three Tables and Sharks Cove.
North of that a half mile or so is all the famous surf spots, like Pipeline and Sunset Beach. Further north (5 miles) are fun activities at or nearby Turtle Bay Resort including Horse Back Riding, Four Wheeling, dirt bikes on the beach with big fat tires, tennis, golf, and a very fun zip line up to the mountain.
Waimea Bay (1/2 mile from our house) has a beautiful sandy beach where you can watch the daredevils jump off the rocks into the ocean. The water is excellent for swimming and snorkeling when the seas are calm (all summer long) and in the winter it becomes the expert surfer destination when the waves are big.
Waimea Valley consists of 1,875 acres and has been a sacred place for more than 700 years of Native Hawaiian history. Here you can take a casual walk through the World Class Botainical Gardens and Historical Sites 3/4 of a mile one way or 1 1/2 miles round trip to the Waterfall area. The area has 78 Ancient Hawaiian Archaeological Sites and has a World Class Botanical Garden Collection containing more than 5,000 kinds of tropical and subtropical plants. There is a good restaurant here, open for lunch and brunch. On Thursday nights there is a fun swap meet with lots of good Hawaiian food and products.
Once on the North Shore, it is an easy drive to Pearl Harbor or the East and West sides of the Island.
