Located just south of Cannon Beach, OR, Far Cry is located down a secluded, wooded road and sits just above the beach with a full view of the Pacific Ocean. The north end of the beach is Cove Beach and at low tide a cave to Arch Cape is accessible. To the south is Falcon Cove named after Cape Falcon, a headland which rises 750' out into the Pacific Ocean. There is room for four in two separate bedrooms for a maximum of six(6) nights. There are hiking trails and lots of old movies and games, a big fireplace, comfy chairs in which to relax your cares away and of course 180 degrees of ocean right outside. The kitchen is stocked with spices and cooking utensils. Fresh linens await your arrival. Welcome to Far Cry.
'The Sea runs wild and beautiful in our blood, which probably explains why the far cry of the gull haunts us even beyond earshot. So our ocean home, forever beckoning, is named 'Far Cry.'

Loved the location - right between Cannon Beach and Manzanita - and just watching the crashing waves right outside was a fabulous treat. Was a bit difficult to slide down the slope to reach the smooth stone beaches (via rope) BUT the experience was awesome nonetheless.
We just returned from 5 nights at Far Cry. The ocean-front view from the cottage is amazing! The property was comfortable and well-stocked. It was also exactly as presented so no surprises. If you're looking for a rustic, "off-the-grid" vacation spot this is it. I would have rated it 5 stars except for a few "niggles." I never could get a decent fire going even with the "crack the door" trick. The baseboard heater controls were not immediately obvious and without a thermostat it was a little difficult to keep the temperature consistent. But, as I said, these are "niggles" that we worked around and our overall experience was great! I would recommend this property.
We enjoyed our stay at this little cottage very much. It's not fancy, but that's what we like. It was very easy to vacation here with our dogs. We had everything we needed to cook several yummy seafood dinners, and we enjoyed watching the old movies. Thank you for opening your home to us. It felt just like a vacation at Grandma's. We hope to come back again.
Loved being 'off the beaten path!' The wood burning fireplace was such an added bonus. I had a fire every night. The kitchen was very well stocked, movies, firewood and mattress warmers, yummy details. The mattress was a tad older, my back got jacked up and I was afraid I was going to have to leave early but loved this place!
My daughter was in town, so we decided to rent a cabin on the beach for a couple days. My Son and daughter n law also came out for a day. Lovely, lovely and lovely stay, view, location.... Can't say any more. Huge picture windows over looking the Pacific. We sat out on the lawn and watched the waves for hours. The ocean cliff is only 30-40 feet away from the cabin. Sunsets were fantastic. We were there during a "rare" heat wave on the Oregon coast. 75-80 degrees while we were there.
Carolyn's surprisingly spacious cabin was perfect for our family's weeklong coastal getaway. The property is immediately adjacent to the beach access. The evening views are breathtaking as the sunset streams through the large living room windows. We cooked in the kitchen every day, and on lazy mornings we popped in a VHS from the extensive collection. We are big fans of the Arch Cape area because of it's proximity to busy Cannon Beach and not-so-busy Manzanita. We will definitely be returning!
