We have enjoyed our Gearhart house since 2004. We did extensive updating throughout the house from the get go. With three young children, we aren't able to get over to the coast as much as we would like to. So, here we are, sharing our house with other guests.
Tara purchased this house in 2004
We love the charm of Gearhart. It's an easy drive from Portland and is conveniently located to all the beautiful north coast towns of Seaside, Astoria, Cannon Beach, Manzanita, and more. Gearhart itself is quiet and family friendly. The beach is serene and peaceful. The community is friendly and warm. Great memories are made here.
The house is centrally located to town. We love walking for coffee, ice cream, groceries, and fine dining. There are even wildlife around the area. The peaceful beach is a short couple blocks away.
Great, easy to work with space; we had up to 5 people residing there throughout our stay, without any problems. It is convieniently located being a very quick walk to the beach, the small commercial district of Gearhart, and any events at McMenamins' Gearhart Hotel. I would definitely recommend this house.
The home was all that was advertised and the cleanest home we have stayed in.
The beach was down the street as indicated and we saw many deer in the dunes.
Great Local Store and Coffee shop and close to Seaside where you can find any restaurant you want.
My husband, teenage son, preteen daughter and I (and our dog) spent three wonderful nights in this well-appointed home. Everyone had their own space for sleeping and downtime, and the short walk to the beach is through a beautiful neighborhood where pride of ownership is obvious. Although we walked along the bustling beaches of Seaside and Cannon Beach, at Gearhart we often had the beach to ourselves. The house is clean and comfortable, the kitchen had all the basics you could need, and there were plenty of towels, blankets and extra pillows (I was glad to find a feather pillow in a closet after leaving mine in a hotel the night before). The owner was very responsive, communicated everything clearly, and even graciously took a phone call with a question once we arrived. A Safeway is a 10-minute (or less) drive into Seaside, and the microbrewery was a fun stop. We'd definitely do this trip all over again--and maybe we will!
The house was well-supplied with everything we needed, clean and very comfortable. The house is in a nice neighborhood with a good restaurant within walking distance. The walk to the beach was about ten minutes and it is a beautiful beach. There is a lot to do and see, with Astoria and Seaside close by. We are a group of women who have traveled together for 25 years and this house was one of the nicest and most comfortable we have rented. The owner was easy to deal with and quick to respond to any questions we had. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to rent.
We love our stay in this small, quiet community & this nice, comfortable home. It has everything we need, is close to beach & not over run w/people. This is our 2nd stay in this home & hopefully will not be our last!
The home was clean and welcoming. It has everything w needed to have a peaceful vacation. Gearhart is a quiet, beautiful place to relax, walk on the beach, enjoy the great bakery. This home gave us the perfect place to stay. We were close ( 4 blocks) to the store, cafe, and bakery. The trail to the beach was directly down our road and an easy walk...(about 4 blocks.) I hope we can return soon.
