Perfect quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in late September. I can't say enough about the peaceful feeling that the nature preserve provides. The birds were plentiful and the sunsets were beautiful. Easy each access right across the street.

The apartment was clean and had everything you could possibly need. Steve was a wonderful host. My husband loved the firm bed.

We have stayed in a number of the Delmarva beach towns, and we will likely book here again. It was perfect for us.

The hosts are exceptional. The location is unique & exquisite. It is quiet & the Prime Hook Preserve is literally across from their backyard. The accommodations were spotless & well stocked with everything you’ll need. The hosts were thoughtful, friendly & gracious. We will definitely rebook.

Well maintained, welcoming, great location

  • 5 of 5

The place was ideal for the two of us! We ate breakfast in, lunch both in and out and went out for dinner. Good suggestions from the owners. Well stocked kitchen and lots of towels and linens. Very clean! Steve and Bobbi were fabulous hosts. Loved Broadkill-unspoiled, uncrowded but close enough to Milton, Lewes, and Rehobeth. Enjoyed the National Wildlife Refuge at Prime Hook and kayaking on the Broadkill River in the back yard. Great get away!

Quiet Oasis on Wildlife Refuge

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Steve and Bobby's property. The apartment was clean and bright. The beds were super comfortable and the shower was great. We liked having use of a full kitchen since we enjoy a

leisurely breakfast each morning. The separate air conditioners work well to keep the place cool. The large deck overlooking the river and the wildlife refuge was a great place to relax. Steve and Bobby were excellent hosts - responding to our questions immediately. They really enjoy having guests

and they want to make sure you have everything you need. We did have to drive to get dinner, etc - but we did not mind. I would definitely stay here again if I plan to spend time on the Delaware shore.

Clean, Quiet, lots to do!

  • 5 of 5

Despite several days of rain we had a great time with Steve and Bobbie! The apartment is fully stocked and comfortable (including Apple TV). We learned how to crab, walked the Rehoboth Boardwalk, toured numerous antique malls and the Dogfish Head Brewery, as well as soaking up some sun on the private beach! Would definitely come back again!!! Thank you!

Great trip

  • 5 of 5

The beach house is beautiful, and the hosts are very accommodating. Everything you could possibly need is stocked in the house, packing couldn't be easier. Steve was so generous with my children, spent time teaching how to crab and fish. It was a great trip. Thank you!

About Steve & Bobbie

Captain Steve has spent may years working on the artificial reef program for the State. He also has extensive knowledge of the fishing and crabbing available on the Broadkill River. He's happiest when he's fishing, planning on fishing, or talking about fishing.

Bobbie is recently retired from the hospitality industry and is enjoying every day she no longer has to leave the beach. It has always been in her plans to offer her hospitality to those who wanted to experience the laid back lifestyle that comes with being on Broadkill Beach.

Steve & Bobbie purchased this house in 2006

Why Steve & Bobbie chose Broadkill Beach

This property has become one of the greatest blessings Bobbie and I have ever received because of the wonderful experiences we were able to share with our family and closest friends. Fond memories of breathtaking sunsets over the Wildlife Refuge while sitting on the back deck and then watching the stars appear in the sky; finding the north star, big dipper and identifying other constellations. Turning to the moon, we would determine its phase and discuss the way to remember “Waxing” and “Waning” crescent. The children would search for shooting stars and make a wish. I hope you and your family can create similar memories here at our home at the beach.

This southern section of Broadkill Beach is amazing in that it gives you the true feeling of peace and serenity. When you walk the beach with your morning cup of coffee, you might not see another person anywhere! Privacy, tranquility and serenity are what you experience while walking on the sandy shore of the mouth of the Delaware Bay. Although individuals do not own the beach front, this is a very private area, possibly because there is no legal place to park your vehicles unless you own the property in this section. There is no public parking. This is a beach experience you have never had before. It is perfect for families. It is located on the Delaware Bay and great for smaller children to swim and play, older ones to fish, swim and operate water toys and for parents to let their guard down a little because your family is easily seen at all times due to the fact that there are few or no people within 100 yards of your beach chair. You will not ever find this beach too crowded and will be able to create your own fond memories to carry you into the future. Discover why the southernmost part of Broadkill Beach is the best kept secret in Delaware.

What makes this house unique

All you need to bring with you is your swimsuit, sunscreen, and beach towels. We provide you with linens, bath towels, and a fully-equipped kitchen. It's like having an enormous hotel suite just steps from the beach. If you do enjoy more of the hustle and bustle of a resort area, you're only 20 minutes north of Lewes, DE. Lewes has many things to offer, from Cape Hanelopen State Park and the local charter boats are available. Rehoboth Beach is just a few minutes further south where you find tax-free outlet shopping, the boardwalk with Funland, arcades, and ice cream shops, as well as a water park, go-karts, and movies.

Please contact us with any questions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you!
