This property surpasses its description. In the perfect location for seeing the sites of the Davis Mountains, it is an inspirational retreat filled with the owners' artwork and other eclectic pieces that somehow all work together. The house has everything you need for a pleasant stay in the perfect location, with the added bonus of a dark sky full of stars.

We loved staying here!!!! The house was perfect for a family (kids loved playing
Artistic and fun property, with all the comforts of home! Great for couples, friends or families. (Maybe tough with a toddler who wants to touch everything, thinking back to those days, as they have so many cool decorations .... but depends on your kids!) We would stay again.
Oh my, this was my FAVORITE VRBO! And I’ve stayed in many over the years. It was clean, comfortable, but most of all ENTERTAINING! There was so much art and books and even secret little hidey holes filled with history and art! Card games, art supplies, 2 tvs, a record player and plenty of outdoor seating for star gazing. If we hadn’t gone hiking in the Davis Mountains and just stayed in the cottage the whole time we would have still had a blast! We can’t wait to come back!
The house was great however the town didn’t have many restaurant options. I would suggest planning to cook in when you stay unless you’re willing to travel to Marfa or alpine every night for dinner.
This home had everything needed for family of 6. We did a lot of cooking in this home and kitchen is well stocked. The home was an easy drive to all our planned destinations and the location to downtown was an easy walk. If we are ever in the area we would stay here again. Thank you your hospitality.
Wonderfully eclectic lodging in a quiet neighborhood that accepts pets. You could spend a day looking at all the personal artistic touches with southwest, Mexican, and retro vibes. The house was very comfortable, clean, and close to grocery stores and eateries. Kitchen was well provisioned and every room had interesting books. We enjoyed our stay!
The home was a fun and inspiring place to stay. Lots of books, art, and records to enjoy. Walkable to the Blue Mountain Lodge and other shops. The kitchen was well stocked and beds were very comfortable. Thank you for sharing your space with us!
We loved this eclectic house! Nice kitchen, comfortable beds, and clean. Any questions we had were quickly answered by the host. And, yes, there were stickers but we thought they actually were coming from outside the fence where we parked. But it’s West Texas, things are prickly here! Overall, would highly recommend.

Trekking to the back door to get to the keypad in the dark was a little tricky. A front door key would have been nice. Besides that I can’t say enough good things about this charming house.
This was the perfect place to stay in Fort Davis! The home is beautiful with tons of books and artwork. It is decorated in a way that captures the feel of Fort Davis. It was clean with a fully stocked kitchen. The location was very convenient for our visits to the Fort, observatory, Balmorhea. Davis Mountains State Park. We'd love to stay here again next time we're in that part of Texas.

Thanks for staying we do hope you stay with us next time!
We really loved the place, but the goat head stickers in the parking area and in the yard were overwhelming and we had to pull stickers off of our shoes and out of our poor dogs paws after every adventure outdoors. We could not spend much time in the yard unfortunately. Such a lovely, comfortable home, but the goat head sticker plants need to be dug out asap.

Thanks for staying. The goat heads have been tended to.
Came into town to visit the McDonald Observatory, and the house was perfectly located for it. The house is full of funky, locally inspired art. Since it is an older home, I was somewhat concerned it was going to be cold at night, but we were very comfortable. Everything is very well appointed. Nice, modern appliances, nice custom shower, and very comfortable beds. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if we head back out for another visit.
This house is perfectly situated for exploring not just Fort Davis, but all of the surrounding areas. We were able to get to Marfa in 20 minutes, and Balmorhea in 30. It’s walkable to the Main Street/downtown area where you can pop into funky shops and meet the lovely locals. We must have gone to the Stone Village Market at least once a day during our stay for iced coffee, food, and an insanely delicious banana cream pie.We felt at ease in this house, and very much enjoyed all of the thoughtful touches the owners put into it. They clearly love their home, and we felt lucky to get to experience it too.

The house was really nice. But one of the main reasons I booked there was the nice fenced in yard for my 2 dogs. It was totally full of goat head sticker burrs.. I had to carry my dogs out the front door to the road to take them for potty walks. It had not been mowed or weedeated and was overgrown.

Thanks for staying Gail. Sorry about the yard, it has been taken care of and we now have hired a full time gardener to keep on top of it when we are not there.
