About this property

West End Donner Lake, Lake Side, Dog Friendly, Lake View.

The cabin sits where Lakeview Creek enters Donner Lake. Listen to the babbling creek and unwind on our deck as you look out over the lake. Take a walk, or bike ride on our cruiser bikes, to the beach. The deck area is the prime entertainment spot. It's a sunny little spot. Perfect for afternoon BBQ's and entertaining. Inside the pine log walls take you back in time, but there are modern finishes. The kitchen has all new stainless appliances. The living room has a 'smart' TV with internet capability. In fact, the entire cabin has wifi, and two of the three bedrooms have TV's as well. For longer stays you will appreciate the laundry room. And there is plenty of parking 'off street'. It's a level driveway that is plowed all winter, and there's a covered walkway, so no snow shoveling to access the cabin! Soooo close to Sugar Bowl :)

PLEASE NOTE: We manage requests, so weeklong reservations take precedent over short stay requests from June 7th to Sept 15th, and from December 20th-January 3rd. Three-day reservations take precedent on holiday weekends. To keep cleaning fees reasonable, we ask guests to launder towels and linens used during their stay, and if there is a concern, they bring their own towels to lessen departure procedures. Beds DO NOT need to be made. Please inquire before your stay, and we can have the cleaner do the forementioned cleaning for an additional $70.

The host requires you complete the following before checking out:
Load the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Guests are required to strip used beds, was linens (not blankets), and wash and dry towels. Guests can request laundry to be done by cleaners for a $70 "laundry fee".
Garbage must be in the "bear box" garbage cans by Monday morning. Lights off, and doors locked upon departure.
Dishes and kitchen items are to be washed and put away upon departure.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Mess that requires extra cleaning, including steam or dry cleaning will result in extra fees. My cleaners inspect and take pictures after every stay.

This place was in a great location on Donner Lake. 2 minute drive to the park nine minute drive to the store. The house was neat and tidy. Will definitely stay again.

Very clean, small cabin. Nice host.We opted to bring our own towels to avoid the stress of washing sheets and towels before leaving. (And avoid the 70 charge if we didn't).Roku TV had a hard time working in the living room but host was very responsive and helpful. Although we got it working the first night, we had to repeat the restart process a couple of times on different days. It did not do streaming, but a downstairs TV would.Wish there were some nightlights, especially for the downstairs bathroom which is down a hall from the bedrooms.

We had a great stay. Our host-Jim-was extremely responsive. This smaller cabin is very quaint and located in a great location. It’s very easy to get into Truckee for grocery shopping, Sugarbowl is super close and it was very easy to get around. There aren’t really any hiking trails you can walk to, but there are quite a few in short driving distance. The cabin was very clean and the pellet stove plus central heat kept it nice and warm. Plenty of lots to cook with, although if you need to measure liquids you’ll need to bring or buy your own liquid measuring cup (we just used dry measures) and if you want to microwave on a plate or in a bowl, bring your own microwaveable dinnerware. This was a non-issue for us, but just felt I should mention it. The beds were SO comfy and cozy! Two bedrooms downstairs and master upstairs. Hang out upstairs for the comfy cabin feel. Provided towels were great and there was basic body wash and shampoo. To summarize, this was a great sta and we definitely recommend for families.

Donner Lake getaway

Cozy cabin near the lake. Loved the views, the deck, the quaint windows, beds were comfy. Very small kitchen with no dishwasher, it was amusing for a short stay but would get tiresome for longer stays.

Great mountain getaway!

We loved this house. Very cozy, plenty of space, well equipped. Great quiet neighborhood on Donner Lake, and close to lots of outdoor activities and downtown Truckee.

This is our "cabin", and it's perfect for families and small groups of friends. We ski at Sugar Bowl, and boat and paddle board on the lake in the summer. We road and mtn bike as well. There are terrific mtn bike trails right down the street. And the hiking in the area is truly amazing.

Why they chose this property

The fact that the bike riding is so superb right from the property was a huge surprise. And Donner Lake is just our style of relaxation. We like Tahoe, but Donner has a mellower vibe, less hectic, and more alpine. We enjoy hosting BBQs on our deck and listening to the creek and looking out at the lake.

What makes this property unique

This is a cabin. Its fully renovated with modern conveniences, but the pine logs make it feel rustic and alpine. This is a great family spot. You can park the car and never use it again once you arrive. Everything is close by. If you brought your boat hit the lake. Morning pulls are the best, but evenings are awesome with the sun setting over Donner Peak. And the fishing around Lakeview Creek is the best on Donner Lake. Just don't tell anyone.
