Sweeping long range and city mountain views. Drive 5 minutes and you will arrive downtown with all it has to offer. At night, experience the dazzling view of the city lights. New hot tub now open year round. Despite its proximity to town, this house is very private. From the expansive back decks on a summer day, you can often hear distant music drifting up through the trees from the Brevard Music Center. In the fall, take in the amazing mountain view of changing leaves. Enjoy a huge stacked stone fireplace with large dining room and living room both with fabulous views. The kitchen has river rock granite counter-tops and new stainless steel appliances.
For cyclists... there is also a garage to store bikes or other outdoor equipment. Bracken Mountain Trail is almost just outside our back door.
The property also features a private pool and hot tub (pool open only during the summer) surrounded by beautiful stacked stone rock work. There is a gated playground with a swing set, and a custom made tree-house for the bigger kids. The playground also has a picnic table and fire ring for backyard camp-outs. Also enjoy a lower kids deck with ping pong table and tire swing. For kicking back after an active day, the kids can hang out in the indoor game room with a Netflix ready TV/DVD with wifi and an air hockey table.

About Robin McCollough
One of us is a cyclist/hiker and the other an art/ theater lover. Brevard, Asheville and surrounding areas are a haven for both. We live 30 minutes away from the house.
Robin McCollough purchased this House in 2002
Why Robin McCollough chose Catheys Creek
Husband grew up going to camp here as a child. We vacationed here for 20 years before finally buying a house in the area.
What makes this House unique
When we considered selling this house the realtor said it was so unique he wouldn't know how to compare it to anything. It's a private family vacation compound in the middle of the woods, but you can get in the car and in minutes be in downtown Brevard. When we bought the property in 2002, the pool inspector gave us the history of how the pool had been built and the rock work implemented. It is remarkable because it is on the side of a mountain. He told us that he had actually submitted a bid to build the pool many years ago, but had made it outrageous never believing that it would have been possible to do. We also have an eclectic mix of antiques and contemporary art in this house.

Love this house!
Our party consisted of my wife and I, and our three kids ages 3/4/6. This house was perfect! It has a swing set and a flat fenced area to play, a play room, and the lower balcony has a tire swing our kids still haven't stopped talking about. This is a serious swing! 360 spins! We only saw one other car drive by once we were up at the house. It is a very secluded and private spot, beautiful view, we were sad to leave. Yet, you go right down the mountain and you're in the town of Brevard. Really the best of both worlds... House is very nice and well cared for.
Home away from home!
It was the best place to be over the holidays. Felt like a home away from home. My kids and family loved it, it may turn into a family tradition to go annually.
Cozy, kid friendly and gorgeous views.
This rental is spacious and cozy. The mountain views and fireplaces made it the best place to be during the holidays. The large kitchen was perfect for making family dinners and the rooms were large and comfortable.
The house was beautiful and welcoming! We loved it
This house was amazing! Plenty of room, warm and welcoming, beautiful views, it was our best Christmas ever! Thank you
Lovely home. Good location
Enjoyed our stay and are definitely going back!
I am so glad that we picked this house for our little family vacation. Location is great with plenty of privacy with easy access to all the attractions of the area. It is only minutes away from downtown Brevard. The house itself is gorgeous and beautifully decorated. It is superbly comfortable and clean. The view is spectacular! The owners Robin and Mark were awesome. They were readily available to assist you in every step of the way. Next time we plan to visit Brevard, NC we know where to stay.
