Beautiful Setting

The house was comfortable and the location was great. We liked being in the woods and out of the way but it was an easy drive to Berkeley Springs and Cacapon State Park. The kitchen is large and laid out well. The property manager was responsive and friendly. The information about check in and check out times was different on the listing and in the follow up emails but we were able to get clarification easily.

Beautiful Home in the Mountains

Thank you George for providing such a beautiful home for our pleasure. The layout of the home is fantastic! 3 big bedrooms! Beautiful kitchen. Comfy living rooms and we loved the fireplace!. Great screened in porch and large deck to enjoy nature. Outdoor huge firepit! Thank you for providing a quiet and peaceful stay!

So Relaxing

This home and property are beautiful—so peaceful and private. Beds were comfortable, the furniture was so nice and the kitchen met all of our needs. Everything we needed was at hand. We enjoyed the screened porch so much. We felt very pampered! Our group of sisters and friends gets together every year in Berkeley Springs and this home was absolutely the nicest place we have stayed. George was very accessible if we needed him.

Wonderful weekend getaway!

Our party, 2 couples, went for the weekend and loved this house and location. Great communication from owner before and during the trip. Easy to reach and super nice when we had questions. Everything was just as described on the listing. The house and property have many options for gathering around a roaring fire, perfect for our winter visit. Big deck and screened-in section with a pub table. Kitchen well equipped. Loved the house layout and the cozy furniture. We would definitely return to this property!

Berkeley Springs Getaway

Beautiful house on a great lot, very well furnished with an amazing gourmet kitchen. Beds are super comfy! Easy to get to even off the grid and 4x4 recommended in the winter time. George was very responsive before, during and after our visit. He gave high recommendations and did not disappoint! Lot 12 public house was spectacular and so glad we made reservations! Would rent this property in a heartbeat! Thank you!!!

Great getaway!

We loved our stay at Berkeley Springs! George was great since before our arrival providing us with aall the information needed for the weekend. The house was very comfortable, the kitchen was spacious enough for all 6 of us to be there cooking and eating and the outside of the property is for sure magical! We loved every minute!

Perfect home away from home

The house is beautifully located in the woods. It is very well furnished with high quality furniture - comfortable beds, large screen TVs with lots of viewing options, plenty of cozy spots to curl up with a book, great outside seating options and a fully equipped kitchen. The owner was very pleasant to deal with and concerned about our stay. We absolutely loved the place and hope to return soon for a longer period.

Very cozy with fabulous location and view

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was hard to tear ourselves away from the fireplace and cozy diggs to go into town. The view of the nighttime sky from the balcony was breathtaking. Super comfy bed and seating and great kitchen.

Privacy Concerns

The owner used a security camera to monitor. I would not have rented had I known that. Also, he never called with updated check in instructions, his cabin showed up in a pet friendly search when that was not the case, and the ad has old instructions that are not clear. I was sent to the wrong place. Would not recommend.

Great experience

Awesome location, the property owner clearly put a lot of love into the house. Everything was clean and it is probably the most well furnished rental I have been to. The owner was also very helpful and easy to communicate with. There are a lot of cool outdoor activities around (the state park is fantastic). Would highly recommend.

Great stay with young family

Our family (2 adults, 3 kids ages 6, 5, and 2) had a great stay at George's place. It was beautiful and well-appointed. The A/C worked really well, which was good, because it was the hottest time of the year when we were there. We had no problems finding it or getting up and down the mountain. The Wifi did not work great and cell service was spotty at times, but George warned us about that and it was not a big problem. Our kids ran around in the woods and we had a fire in the fire pit one night. A previous guest had even left s'mores supplies, which were much appreciated.

Nice view right in town!

The house is beautiful and you can tell alot of work went into the details. If you do forget anything, it is pretty much at the house. The beds were so comfortable, came home to order some toppers they used in the master. We had motorcycles and were lucky to find a neighbor at the bottom to let us park them there. The incline and the wash outs were a little worrisome but was told the road would be regrated shortly. The firepit outside was amazing and set up for us as well. Definitely a gem at the top!

Great house

This house is wonderful.. It is up on a mountain and has incredible views. The house is very well done. The internet consistently worked except for one night out of a 7 day stay. Cell phone connection not perfect but you can connect if you walk outside the house into the yard. Gas grill on deck and also stone grill outside and as you are in woods, no problems finding wood to burn. The owner, George, is a great guy and if you need anything he is very responsive. However, if things are fine, he is hands off. For those worried about the last 800 feet of the road, George indicated it will be fixed soon. Highly recommend this place.

Beautiful Views

Wonderful stay with my wife and son in this beautifully appointed home on top of a ridge. West facing views are amazing, and the kitchen has every implement you could ever want. Would happily return.

Solid 4+

This is an excellent house in a fabulous location. Thank you for opening it for rental. My 2 friends and I had a wonderful girl's weekend celebrating a milestone birthday here. The views from the upper deck were superior. Birders will like it here. We sat around the fire pit and watched the stars come out. We sat in the screened porch a lot to read and chill. The Virginia creeper covering the porch made it into a lovely intimate bower. We also ate meals here. We learned to cook with gas (range and oven) :-), and did burgers and steaks on the gas grill. The kitchen was well stocked with basic and some fancy spices, condiments, and a variety of teas. There were 4(!) coffee-makers. Sadly, no functioning electric kettle and the stove-top kettle was clogged with scale. Lots of cookware, but lacking some critical basics, like a full set of measuring cups and spoons. Like almost all vacation rentals I've stayed in, the kitchenware was so jumbled it was hard to know if the thing you needed was there - like lids to pots, base for electric kettle (never found), and such. The second day we found a moldy pod in one of the coffee-makers - need to keep on top of your cleaning crew. The house is up a steep private gravel road - VERY steep with wash-out ruts. Our front-wheel drive SUV made it up each day, but it was bad enough that we didn't want to go out more than once a day, and definitely not at night. We are professional outdoors people, and we were a bit shocked that there weren't more emphatic warnings about this in the listing. George did make sure we knew about this when he called me with check-in details. Check-in was a bit rocky, because George had given me an incorrect combination and I had no phone connectivity when we arrived. I managed to find a spot with 1 bar and contacted him, and he gave us the correct code, but it was disconcerting at the very beginning of our stay. I will say that George was very responsive - called me a day in advance and answered calls and texts quickly once we were there. The beds and bathrooms were well appointed and comfortable, although the lower level could get quite cold as not on its own AC zone. Also be aware that the neighbors may be dumping their trash in George's can at the end of the drive. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves, and it's on my list to stay again. As my review is titled, a solid 4+.

A Great Getaway

This house had everything we needed for a relaxing girls' getaway weekend. We enjoyed a very comfortable living room, three nice bedrooms, a well-stocked kitchen and a screened porch that was perfect for games or just sitting back and relaxing with a glass of wine. The location is fantastic... very remote with a gorgeous view. The drive up to the property definitely is part of the adventure! The Owner was great to work with as well... making sure that we knew our surroundings and had good directions. All is all a great trip!
