Great Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our group! We had 9 in our group and we were very comfortable. The sleeping was amazing due to the quiet surroundings. Close proximity to the trails make this a perfect rental for a bike vacation!

No surprises. The pictures do a nice job. Secluded, quiet, but short drive to Brevard and hikes.

Great Cabin

  • 4 of 5

My family came to the Brevard area for some mountain biking and had a terrific stay at this cabin. The owners answered my request right away, and were very helpful. We found the cabin to be clean, peaceful and cozy. The kitchen is well stocked and has anything you might need. The porch is great for relaxing and listening to the stream. Very close to town for dinners out or strolling around, but you feel like you're miles from everything. We did not have any difficulty at all with the driveway, water or cleaning chart, as noted in other reviews.

The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars was that the towels had a distinct mildew odor, and are way overdue for replacing.

Overall, I would definitely recommend.

Good Location but the cabin in need of updates

  • 2 of 5

The cabin in the woods is a perfect location for mountain bikers with close access to Pisgah Forest and DuPont State Park; however the cabin needs a good cleaning and updating. The washed out gravel driveway was a challenge for our vehicles. Upon entering the first thing you notice is a musty smell in the basement. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking accessories but was missing some basics such as soap for the dishwasher and paper products. This made cleaning and putting away all dishes, one of the 15 items on the departure check list a challenge to complete. The check list AKA chore list included such tasks as driving all recycling to the local recycling center and unloading the dishwasher and returning all items to their proper cabinets. Be sure to give yourself at list 1 hour to complete the chores if you want your deposit back. Our biggest issue with the house was the lack on water on Saturday night after our 5 hour mountain bike ride. There is an on-going issue with air in the pipes that stops the water pressure to all bathrooms in the house. Repeated calls and text to the owner were unanswered for hours. By some miracle the water pressure was fixed the next morning. I would not recommend the cabin to friends looking for accommodations close to Pisgah

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback. We're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay and had issues with the cabin. We know the driveway has been a problem and we're working on it. The water pressure is not an ongoing problem. Several people have stayed there since then and have not had a problem. The items on the checkout checklist should not be a surprise to anyone who read the entire rental agreement. We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!

Awesome and Spacious

  • 5 of 5

I really enjoyed the house very much. Everyone agreed that when we come back to the Brevard area this is our place. I would like to say that we were wondering about the gas grill, as to is there propane or do we need to go get it, the owners have a direct line to it, which was great and one less worry. The kitchen has any and everything that you could possibly need to prepare food, utensils, cookware, bakeware, dinnerware, you name it. It is secluded and the driveway is steep. There are lots of games to play and PLENTY of room. The pool table was a great pastime. We visited 13 waterfalls during our stay and we had an almost 1 year old baby with us. It was great. I highly recommend.

The transaction of our weekend stay could not have been easier! The owners responded quickly to our initial inquiry about their property and were professional and helpful all along the way. We would not hesitate to do business with them again!
