Peaceful and beautiful cabin, very grateful for the well working wifi too because it’s a dead zone for service at the cabin itself and driving up the road. Kitchen stocked pretty well and linens provided. Along with laundry, dish and hand soap which was very nice! Make sure to double check your bags when you pack for your toiletries though because there was no shampoo so we had to buy some because we forgot lol. Host and maintenance man are very nice, communication was good. Not many bugs outside considering you’re in the trees and near water, definitely lots of moths at night though. If you’re lucky like we were you’ll even see a few deer!

Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the peaceful setting, beautiful surroundings, and reliable Wi-Fi, and it sounds like you even had a few special visitors with the deer! We’re also happy to hear that you found the cabin well stocked and that you had a good experience with our communication and maintenance team. We did want to clarify for future guests that shampoo and other personal toiletries are not provided at this property. We include this information in our listing and provide a detailed list of everything that is included in our complimentary starter kit so guests know what to expect and what personal items they will need to bring along. Thank you again for staying with us and for sharing your experience. We’re so happy you enjoyed your time at the cabin and hope to welcome you back for another peaceful mountain getaway!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this cabin! The location felt private and secluded. We enjoyed taking walks with our dog and enjoying the views. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our favorites were the hot tub and the wood burning fireplace!

This cabin fell far short of expectations for a birthday getaway, marred by a lack of maintenance and unresolved disturbances. Upon arriving in the pitch dark, we struggled with a poorly lit lockbox. Inside, we faced faulty light switches and numerous burnt-out bulbs, making it incredibly difficult to turn on any lights. The amenities and environment were equally disappointing. Anticipating a relaxing evening after a long drive, we found the hot tub set to a lukewarm 93F. Furthermore, the cabin emitted a strong, musty odor that posed a severe health risk to anyone with breathing or lung conditions like asthma or COPD.The stay was further disrupted around 2:00 AM on the first night by loud banging noises from a critter trapped underneath the house. While trying to resolve this, we discovered the contact info in the cabin manual was outdated. After reaching the correct management via email, maintenance arrived but merely trapped the animal behind a door with a rock. As a result, scratching and ruffling noises continued throughout the stay. Management offered no compensation or meaningful resolution, providing only a standard apology for the inconvenience.

We have stayed in several cabins before. Some we would like to return to, others not so much. This is one we will return to. The location was great. Easy access to the river. Hot tub worked great. If you are wanting to visit Mt Mitchell, don’t go purely on the fact that technically you are 8 miles away. As that might be true if you were to walk straight there, but if you are driving, it takes about 1.5 hours. Beautiful drive. Just not as close as we had thought we would be. We came on what was probably the hottest weekend of the year and it was quite comfy the whole time. The cabin doesn’t have central A/C but the window unit and mini split did the job just fine. The cool mountain air was refreshing the entire time! Highly recommend this rental. Honestly, wish it was for sale!

This was just what we needed for a spring break with our kids during a pandemic. Kids loved the zipline, hot tub, and the sound of rushing water from the balcony.
