Found the futon more comfortable than the bed and the loft was warm despite great AC downstairs. Place was beautiful and in a great location to Starkville downtown.
Overall, the property was clean and presentable. Perfect for a quick weekend when you dont plan on spending time at the VRBO. It is rather small overall, but well appointed. The stairs to loft are steep as previous reviews have stated, however the landing on the stairs is only about 4 ft high and you have to duck to get into the bedroom. Another thing about thebstairs is that they are all not flat, some slope down, some slope up, kinda makea you unsteady while climbing the steep stairs/ladder. There is no dresser in the bedroom, just two night stands, we utilized the closet under the stairs for our clothes. The shower handle came of the shower and the toilet wouldnt flush very well. Host said they were struggling to find maintenance on the weekend. We completed our stay without maintenance ever coming to the property. Ok for a quick 1 or 2 night stay, but thats about it.

The pictures of this property showed what I thought was a staircase going to the bedroom. There was nothing in the description of the property that described any part of the staircase that was only visible in one picture. When we arrived, we found that it wasn’t actually a staircase but a wooden ladder to the loft. I slept in the loft and had to be extremely careful going up and down. There were two caution signs on the ladder. My older husband had to sleep on the futon. None of this was described in the property description. I would have never booked it if I had known how steep the ladder was.
We found the unit with no toilet paper or paper towels. I had difficulty getting a person on the phone to help us. The host finally replied by email and suggested we keep looking. Another person from a separate part of the rental agency finally called and helped us. After several hours paper products were brought.
This unit is not suitable for anyone who might have difficulty going up and down a steep ladder. It should be made clear in the description.
