Our Summer Shade cabin is a stunning cabin with two bedrooms, one queen and one king sized bed for those restful nights, plus a single bed loft. This particular cabin brings the outdoors in with its authentic wood floors and walls. Enjoy your morning coffee and your evening meals on the large covered and screened in porch overlooking a wooded ravine. We accept pets with a $50 fee for up to two pets per visit plus tax. Additional pet is $25 per pet if approved.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We absolutely loved this cabin! It’s prettier than the pictures. Very accommodating and the host was very welcoming. We only stayed 2 nights just wish we had more time to stay. Will definitely be back to stay there. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet peaceful place to stay.

A great getaway spot. The cabin was spacious, clean and comfortable. The area is quiet and peaceful. The hosts were welcoming and even dropped by to make sure all was ok and we had everything we needed. You don’t usually get that kind of on hands attention when staying at vacation rentals. We highly recommend you check out this unique and beautiful property.

Very nice short break in a very quiet forested location. Had a wonderful dinner at The Ugly Mugg, and hiked some terrific trails at Fall Creek Falls State Park. Not much water in the creeks but the falls were fabulous all the same. Everything at the cabin was perfect and very much enjoyed our short stay! Thank y’all very much!

The cabin was well designed and maintained. The cleanliness was top notch. It’s a wonderful cabin and very reasonably priced. Jim and his manager are awesome - very nice and made our stay perfect. The best team we’ve ever had. We highly recommend the Cumberland Plateau Retreat!!!!!

What a wonderful stay we had! The cabin was great - clean, kitchen had everything we needed it was all exactly as described. The perfect spot for a few days to relax and getaway. There were so many beautiful sites and waterfalls to see near by too.

We were greeted by the property manager upon arrival. Given pertinent details of the area, the cabin, offered extra supplies if needed. It was a very good experience and the other couple we were traveling with loved it and the experience. The had never used an VRBO before. We had a great weekend! Instructions well pointed out.

Summer Shade was amazing! I had everything I needed but the most important thing was the peacefulness of the area. The screened in porch was amazing and I spent quite a bit of time there after returning from my daily adventures to the state parks I visited. Definitely what I needed to recharge and get ready for Season 58 of my life. Wonderful place to spend my annual ME VACAY for my birthday!!

As a 2004 retiree, I needed something to do to occupy my time. Since I was originally born in Tennessee and owned several acres on the Cumberland Plateau, it seemed only natural that I would eventually find myself back there. Renting vacation cabins came purely as a coincidence since I wound up with more cabins than I could use after buying out and 'ol Navy buddy.

I enjoy meeting and talking to all kinds of people and this seemed to be the perfect venue for that passion.

Why they chose this property

While traveling from Georgia to Kentucky we crossed the beautiful Cumberland Plateau many times. Each time we would comment on how great it would be to own property there someday and to thoroughly enjoy the area, especially Fall Creek Falls State Park.

What makes this property unique

The beauty and serenity of the area provides a great place to sit back and relax away from the hustle and bustle. The added joy of having the beauty of Fall Creek Falls so close by is just a bonus.

Sitting on your porch and watching the area wildlife come and go is a real treat.
