Accommodate your large group in style with these gorgeous Mt. Hood vacation cabins! With close access to Timberline Resort & Ski Area, a private hot tub, and room for up to 30 guests, everyone will be stoked about these stunning cabins in the woods.

Located right at the base of the Glade Trail, these Government Camp homes have direct access to Timberline. The other fabulous slopes of Mt. Hood Meadows and SkiBowl are within a 15 minute drive, so these retreats are perfect for the skiers and snowboarders in your crew. Government Camp itself has several bars and restaurants for some dining options in the mountains, plus with all the beautiful trails, rivers and mountains nearby there's so much to choose from for outdoor activities.

The Big Bear cabin has beautiful timber vaulted ceilings, a huge living area with leather couches and huge dining table. The attached open kitchen has marble counter tops, stainless steel appliances perfect for creating a large meal. There's one master bedroom on the main level with a queen-size bed, but the upstairs and downstairs areas have three bedrooms that include three more queens and 10 twin beds total.

The Little Bear cabin is smaller but has a similar chalet-style interior. The open kitchen has beautiful granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and nine stools you can pull up to the breakfast bar. This cabin also has three bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests, with the master bedroom on the top floor. There are six bathrooms between these two cabins, and with WiFi, flatscreen TVs, and the private hot tub, there's plenty to do during downtime.

Dogs are welcome with a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay.

This two-home getaway would be ideal for a group retreat or a large family reunion. With tons of space inside these cabins and access to the gorgeous Mt. Hood area right at your feet, there's so much to do and see in this beautiful area. Timberline is right down the road (or trail) and you also have close access to Mt. Hood Meadows, SkiBowl, and the charming town of Government Camp. The larger town of Hood River is just 45 minutes away on the Columbia River Gorge, plus Portland is about an hour and a half away.

Gather up your entire crew or organize that retreat you've been thinking about with these luxurious Big Bear and Little Bear cabins in Government Camp!

About Vacasa, OR - Mt Hood / Hood River Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Rat Feces and Poison Ruined an Entire Room VERY SLOW RESPONSE from management

  • 1 of 5

About half of our stay was spent reorganizing our people, many folks had to sleep on the floor, and the management of this property STILL hasn't compensated us properly. They have drug their feet on refunding us for weeks. We may as well have stayed home because beds we needed were covered in filth.

Great for a large group; two fully stocked kitchens made it easy to stage cooking and cleaning

  • 5 of 5

We were a little bit nervous about getting noise conplaints because we were such a large group, and reading all of the other commentary about angry neighbors, etc, concerned that we were going to be a bit much for the property. Wasn't an issue for us, but it helped that the closest neighbor appeared to be away. We had a great stay, cooked a ton of food in the two kitchens, and - even with the maximum sized geoup - between the two houses we were comfortable and had enough space to breathe.

Excellent for a large group

  • 4 of 5

These cabins are spacious and well-equipped (as advertised) with everything needed for a large group. We hosted a family reunion and eclipse expedition for 25 people. Both kitchens, bedding and enough towels, etc. were supplied for our 4 day stay. Hot tub and large grill were ready for our use. Twin beds were surprisingly comfortable, but a few of the bunk beds have the top bunk too close to the ceiling as they are arranged. This could be an issue for groups approaching the full advertised capacity of 30, but it was fine for 25. Parking is limited, but it is a short walk down the hill to town parking which is only restricted from Nov - April, so it was not a problem in August. We would highly recommend these accommodations for anyone hosting a similarly large group.

The two houses are nice great for large gatherings, the mosquitoes where horrible and not having a yard to play games was a let down. We had to be vigilant about being quite as apparently the neighbors will call the police and they would charge us a $1,000 apparently which wasn't told to us until the day before our stay so that was worrisome considering we had 30 people.

We had 30 friends join us at Big Bear and Little Bear for a weekend. It slept everyone very comfortably. The decor is beautiful and was very accommodating to our large group.

Great " Get Away " at a great mountain resort !

  • 5 of 5

This property was about as close to perfect as it can get for our " Merry Little Band of Thieves " ... Enough space and even enough bathrooms ! Kitchen set up worked well. Wonderful space to all gather either in Big Bear or around the hot tub.
