About the property

2 Bedroom 1.00 Bathroom

**Children under 6 not allowed at this home**

This original 1960 log cabin, remodeled in 2016 and new to the rental market, captures the essence of Tahoe chic. It provides a stunning backdrop for your escape away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, yet has a host of modern amenities, such as two large flat screen TVs and a new kitchen outfitted with all the standard stainless-steel appliances. Every detail of this home was curated with great care by its owner, a Bay Area interior designer. The homeowner has created an authentic Old Tahoe experience for those with discerning tastes. La Cabina as it is named, has original woodwork throughout, vaulted ceilings, new carpeting, new oak floors, a skylight and many windows. The front door leads onto an expansive deck; enjoy a favorite book while lounging in Adirondacks on the front porch or take a relaxing soak in the hot tub, where twinkling white lights and solar lanterns add a splash of whimsy in the air. On warm nights, use the Weber gas barbecue to prepare a meal and dine al fresco.

Beautiful and cozy cabin.

  • 4 of 5

This cabin is absolutely beautiful and it is clear that the owners put a ton of thought and care into it's upkeep and condition. They completely manage to avoid the hokey, played out 'cabin' theme that so many rentals in Tahoe fall into. The cabin is beautifully appointed with high end linens, fabrics, and appliances.

Hot tubs can be tricky to maintain but this one was absolutely perfect! It was immaculate and it felt amazing to soak under the stars after hiking on one of the many local trails. It's proximity to the street still manages to put it in the most private of locations on the property, especially since the neighborhood is so quiet. I think we saw 3 cars go by during our entire 3 day stay.

Though cozy, the kitchen is well-laid out, and very fun to cook in. It's very clear that a professional designed the look of the entire place, making it feel luxurious and relaxing.

The nearby Fire Sign Cafe & Westshore Market are perfect for a leisurely walk down to grab some amazing food and drinks.

The only two criteria I had when looking for a rental in Tahoe was a hot tub and wood burning fireplace. Unfortunately the only reason I have to give this rental 4/5 stars is because the pictures posted on here and AirBnB are outdated as there is no longer a wood burning fireplace but instead a gas insert. We were supremely disappointed by this as we looked at dozens of places to find a cabin with these two criteria. It's clear by the photos that they had a wood burning fireplace at one point. Additionally in the house binder there are big sharpie lines through the instructions for the wood burning fireplace and now next to the crossed out area simply says "gas fireplace". Owners should update pictures accordingly.

If you don't care about the fireplace then this is the perfect place for you!

Adorable, quiet charming. Experience miserably hot. The beds were great, the size was great (except a lil too much furniture packed in). The location was very quiet and easy to get to everywhere. It's a great "winter" rental but NOT for warm weather. We came in from the day and it literally was 90* in the cabin because of no air conditioning. It gets hot in Tahoe in the summer so an air conditioning unit at the least is a MUST. We didn't sleep for the 5 nights we were there. The cabin never cooled down to sleep until 2:00 am which was when we were able to finally sleep. The bear wires are very dangerous for anyone but especially if you have kids. Because of the bear cables we could not sleep with the windows open which is what we look forward to doing in Tahoe and is highly needed for a cabin with no air conditioning.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us and we're glad to hear you had a pleasant time. There are high-end Dyson fans in this home that you can use to air out the home - most homes in Tahoe do not have air conditioning. We provide specific instructions on how to operate, handle, and use the bear wires. Having bear wires in Lake Tahoe is extremely important during the summer to protect yourself and the home from bear break-ins. We also state explicitly in the listing that this home is not kid friendly, and children under the age of six are not allowed. We hope you’ll give us the opportunity to host you again.

Designer Cabin Exceeded our Expectations

  • 5 of 5

My husband booked this cute little cabin for our baby moon. The attention to detail in this cabin did not dissapoint. Beautifully decorated and everything we needed to feel comfortable during our stay. The cabin is also located in a prime location set back in a residential neighborhood but just a few minutes drive to everything. Would love to stay here again!

Fashionable, Cozy Escape

  • 5 of 5

This little cabin near Sunnyside was a dream come true for us. While the cabin is small (perfect for a couple, 2-3 girl friends, or a small family) , they did such a fantastic job making it feel very upscale and modern in a warm woodsy way. Fantastic Instagram-able decor (seriously, can you redecorate my apartment?!), high attention to detail, very clean living space, brand new appliances/smart TV, and detailed instructions on how to work everything in the house. No need to bring any kitchen supplies, blow dryers, etc. The owners have seriously spared no expense to make this place rustic-chic, all the way down to the Kate Spade table settings. The cabin gets pretty hot during the day, but cools down very quickly at night. No A/C, but they had a Dyson fan that did the trick for the most part.

Pro tip: USE THE BEAR WIRES! We had a bear encounter on night 1 and were saved by those electrified bear wires! As long as you have those activated by sunset, you should be fine. The hot tub was very clean and felt amazing after a long day of Tahoe activities. The cabin and little porch are surprisingly private and QUIET even without a fence or too much tree cover, mostly due to the fact that several of the houses on the street seemed unoccupied or under construction. Met the neighbors who were very friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend this cabin for a romantic getaway or girl's weekend...we can't wait to book it again!
