We came to Treehouse Cottage to get away for a while, this place was perfect! Had everything we needed, hot tub was lovely, everything in working order. Owner was responsive and helpful.

Wonderful home on the Lake

We stayed a week for Spring Break and the home was exactly what we were looking for. Comfortable and welcoming with so much room for the family to spread out to find a quiet corner. The lakeview was serene with great outdoor space for relaxing. The beds were very comfortable and it had all the "home" items that we needed for the week. We certainly would stay here again when we come back to this area.

The cottage was in a beautiful setting with gorgeous views. It had plenty of room for us to enjoy a relaxing couple of days away. However, we found the hosts not very receptive when we had an issue with the hot tub. The hot tub had sand, dirt and grime in it. To us, it had a strong chemical smell. The day we got there we notified the hosts and they suggested that we clean the hot tub ourselves (with a partial refund implied). When we explained that we did not want to spend our vacation cleaning a hot tub, we were told “it takes about 10 minutes max”. The real question would then be, why was it never done in the first place. I was told I would get a partial refund for not being able to use the hot tub. Four days passed and nothing was issued. When I reached out to the host, she finally issued a small refund along with an unkind message.Needless to say, it is a nice place to stay for the scenery and location, but I’d take a 5 star host over location any day of the week. For your own peace of mind, AVOID THIS VRBO!!

I'm disappointed to see this review. We can confirm that the hot tub was clean, had been serviced but just had sand in the bottom of it. I tried to explain this to the guest but she was apparently just fishing for a refund and planning to write a negative review if she didn't receive it. Unfortunately since we are located on the lake, there is always some sand in the bottom of the hot tub. We had our hot tub service come out as quickly as they could and they confirmed that the hot tub was 100% safe and clean. We then gave this guest a $200 refund and she went on to write this review. This was a very last minute booking request that we typically wouldn't accept but we did so out of kindness, since they claimed their existing reservation had been cancelled last minute by the host. I hope that others can tell based on our other reviews that this was a one-off guest fishing for a refund on a last minute booking that was likely a scam from the beginning.
