Welcome to our small cozy beach house. A nice place for a small family.

Welcome to our cozy beach home; a wonderful vacation home for a small family. The home is located in a quiet subdivision with many retired residents.

**Before booking request, please look over our house rules: NO pets, NO parties, NO gathering!

The house is 5 minutes walk to an uncrowded beach. The home is fully equipped for meal preparations including a set of compact washer & dryer for small loads laundry.
The large wrap-around deck has lots of chairs, patio furniture and a picnic table for meals out in the open sea-breeze.
Guests can take nice strolls along a quiet clean beach, watch kids playing in the sun, or relaxing on the deck watching the beautiful sunset.
Nearby are attractions including: a movie theater, Miniature golf, Moody Garden, Schlitterbahn, Flight Museum etc.
Guests can take a free ferry ride with the kids. Guests may park in free lot and walk onto the ferry for avoid long wait time. The kids may enjoy feeding birds with bread pieces and looking out for local dolphins in the open water.

Cute, Clean, very short walk to a private beach

We loved our stay! It was perfect for our small family! It was very clean, had great amenities, quiet, and a very short walk to a quiet beach. The owners communicated very efficiently and were very easy to reach.

Cozy Beach House

This cozy beach house is within walking distance to the beach. It was very clean. It was perfect for my husband and I but would also be great for a family.

Great family friendly place

Owners were great to work with and offered flexibility and recommendations when asked. The house was very clean and welcoming - perfect for a small family. Located within walking distance to the beach and very close to Galveston State Park.

Short Walk to Beach

We loved the location and the beach was very family oriented . Beautiful Sunrise at the beach, the house was perfect and very clean and met our exspectations of what they advertised, we loved sitting on the deck and visiting in the mornings and evenings.

Weekend get away

Had a last minute weekend get away and loved the location and ease to the beach which was a short walk. Our son loved the sand toys as well as breakfast on the deck. Was the perfect get always destination for us.

It's even better in person

It's the perfect distance from the beach, the deck is so spacious and the underneath amenities are awesome! We really enjoyed the outdoor shower after coming in from the beach. Over all our little birthday weekend was perfect for the three of us. Not to mention the owners are very sweet and accommodating we will be back every year for sure!

Fun, fun, fun!

House is gorgeous and a quick walk to the beach. You can tell the owners cherish their house b/c they take such good care of it. My girlfriends and I loved the wraparound porch and comfortable seating. The owner was just a quick call or text away when we had questions. Highly recommend!

Great place!

This is a great house, especially if you are a family with young children. The house has everything you need for a beach trip and a great outdoor space (both upstairs and downstairs). As parents with young children, we were especially appreciative of the gates that blocked off the two sets of stairs on the deck. The owners responded rapidly to all questions I sent them via the app. Would definitely stay again!

Relaxing family getaway

We had a great weekend with our college kids before they headed back to school. There was plenty of room for all of us, including our dogs. The kids played Monopoly and other games. The 3-D globe puzzle was a big hit. We'd definitely stay here again! Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Perfect Island stay!

The Sand Trout was the perfect little cottage for our family of 5 and dog. Just a block from the private beach made for great walks for every sunrise and sunset. The homes wrap around porch was our favorite as we spend much of our time just enjoying the nice ocean breeze and our dog loved being able to roam free as it has a gate at both front and back entrance. We would definitely stay at this little gem again. Thank you so much for sharing your home and allowing us to make it ours!!!

Cute beach house for our family of 4

This is a great property in an excellent part of Galveston. The house has everything we needed for our beach vacation. We had our own chairs and shade but this house also features ones you can use. The outdoor bathroom and shower was also a plus. The washer and dryer allowed us to bring less and head home with clean clothes.

Great for our family of 4

We really enjoyed our stay! This was a great size for our family of four, and we loved the proximity to the beach. My tree-hugger side wishes there had been recycling available, but that is probably a city limitation. The amenities available were great and in good shape, and if we were to make another trip to south Texas, I think we would love to stay at this house again. :)

Perfect cozy house with great deck near beach

The house is compact, but it has everything you need to enjoy a vacation near the beach. Inside it has been renovated and the deck and downstairs area seems all new, making it very pleasant! The deck has gates front and back makings it perfect to contain toddlers. The beach is a short walk away. We really enjoyed the beach, sand is very clean, so our kids really enjoyed it. Dealing with Jenny was very easy, always responsive and accommodating. We would definitely come back!

So perfect

The house was perfect for my family! It was exceptionally clean and organized. I loved the labeled cabinets and light switches, having a washer and dryer was priceless as well. The towels were fluffy, the beds were comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to cook. The beach toys were perfect, being able to rinse off downstairs to keep the home clean was a huge help. The walk to the beach was just a couple of minutes and it is uncrowded and lovely.

Excellent stay!

As noted in the listing, this is a great house for a family (especially with young kids). The upper patio has gates that close (so little ones cannot access the stairs), there is a small table and chair set for kids to eat at and they have lots of beach toys. The house is a fairly short walk to the beach. The owners are great hosts and extremely responsive if you have any questions. One of the days was a bit stormy (due to the hurricane that was moving through the Gulf several hours south of Galveston) and the owners sent a message to check in on us. This was our second stay - we will definitely stay here again.

Sister Trip

We had a wonderful stay! The beach is about a block and a half Away which was a super short and easy walk for two “elderly” sisters. The beach is great with no cars driving on it in this area. The house was perfect with everything you could need. Comfy beds that would sleep 6 adults and then an additional double futon and sleeper sofa which would sleep 4 more. Everything was super clean and well appointed. There was even a blender and crockpot! Great internet and Roku tv. The perfect place for relaxing at the beach!

Comfortable house, large deck, easy walk to the beach

We really enjoyed our stay. Looking for a house that could accommodate 4 adults and 2 small kids. This house was just right. The house was very clean and had most everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The walk to the beach was less than 5 minutes and the beach was not crowded and beach was kept clean. We brought a wagon to haul our umbrellas, cooler, and beach toys. Deck was furnished very well with table and chairs and two more sitting areas. Kitchen was stocked very well but could have used more silverware. The beds were very comfortable and air conditioner worked very well on those hot afternoons. Home owners were very easy to work with and wanted to make sure we had an enjoyable stay.

Uncomfortable

Shabby but NOT chic. Mattresses uncomfortable. Run down couches. "Remodel" looks like it was done by someone who watched a couple of DIY shows and concluded "we can do ourselves". We left a day early.

My husband and I have been married 21+ loving years. We have 2 beautiful teenage daughters. We have been residents of Houston over 40 years. We love road trips & visiting scenic destinations. My husband's most favorite leisure activity is fishing. Wherever we travel, his foremost inquiry is if fishing is available.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

It has been my husband's dream to fish everyday when he retires. We purchased this house in 2010 after the historic Hurricane Ike. We recently renovated the house with an additional 200 sq ft and expanded the deck. The process took longer than expected, but after all the works completed, we totally LOVE it. My husband can now live his dream even before retiring, which is a wonderful blessing. My most favorite activity is walking along the beautiful clean beach looking out into the open sea. The sunset/sunrise view on the beach is absolutely breathtaking.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Our home is in located on the quiet west end of Galveston Island. Guests will be able to enjoy a quiet & relaxing time during their stay at our place. There is no passing through traffic inside the subdivision. Our young guests can safely walk to a semi-private beach within a few minutes.
We also have many nice and friendly neighbors in the subdivision. .
We recently renovated the house converting it from an efficiency into a 2 bedroom house. Although the bedrooms are small, we try to make the space as comfortable as possible for our guests. The newly remodeled home feature a spacious wrap-around deck, which provides even more open area for outdoor activities for all. There is an outdoor shower downstairs which is great during hot summer days.
We wish to welcome guests into our "home away from home". All necessary kitchenware and dinnerware are available for preparing delicious home-cooked meals. Other amenities include Wi-Fi, Roku TV, Netflix, Disney Plus, and local channels, DVDs, games, books and puzzles.
Lastly, we sincerely hope our guests will find the Sand Trout as cozy and comfortable as possible. We certainly have enjoyed all our stay there in Galveston through the years.
