On this working farm, one could clearly see the Milky Way, gather fresh eggs, summer squash and pears. As I was born and raised nearby and my husband was raised in Joplin, it was an absolute joy to spend five days in nostalgic territory. We now live in the Philadelphia suburbs, but when we return again, we will look no further than maybe considering the nearby milk house. That is, unless our hostess does purchase the nearby farm that was in my family for four generations. My husband wasn't feeling well part of our stay. So thankful to have such a wonderful place for him to recuperate and for me to revisit childhood sites , old friends and family. The Thirties was well equipped with anything we needed. There were even first aid supplies! There was no tv, but we didn't even miss it. We give the place six stars.
