About this property

Luxury Log Home Near: Suncadia-Cle Elum Mt. VIEWS,private sled hill,Winter-SNOW!

Alpine lodge is a magnificent cedar Log home with close to 3400 sq. ft. of space. This custom built home has been featured on the European HGTV network and showcased in log home shows around the USA and abroad. All 3 floors offer magnificent views of the Stuart Mountain Range, glaciated peaks and forested foothills where trails abound. The lodge sleeps 14 on beds. A winter time highlight is the private and fully illuminated custom designed / excavated 150 yard sled hill with multiple runs. There are also plenty of hiking / mountain bike trails, cross country skiing and more right outside the front door….

THE LODGE FEATURES:
Alpine Lodge is very functional for up to 14 guests and is tastefully decorated. The Lodge is very spacious, has a gourmet kitchen that is well stocked, features stainless steel appliances and beautiful slab granite counter tops. A massive wooden bar slab countertop extends from the kitchen into the Great Room dining area. This kitchen is the perfect set up when cooking for families, has plenty of space and is well stocked to prepare even a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. A BBQ is located on the covered back deck and is just steps from the kitchen. You can’t miss all the vaulted magnificent cedar walls, pine ceilings, log supports and that make for cozy private and intimate living areas. The spacious open floor plan features a large great room with a 22 ft. high ceiling and an energy efficient wood burning Stone fireplace, (A nice advantage over Suncadia Properties that do not allow for wood burning fireplaces). The large hearth is perfect for warming up and drying out after a day in the snow or fishing the rivers and lakes near the property. A second gas burning fireplace stove is located on the main floor in the window encased sun room, a perfect place to submerge in a good book or enjoy quiet conversations or games. The lower level entertainment and games room (with a 2 person double bed) area is very large and fully equipped with wet bar, huge 7 foot air hockey table and a foosball table, large sofas, large flat screen TV plus DVD player and plenty of movies to choose from. There are plenty of puzzles, toys and family friendly games that will provide hours of entertainment for all age groups young and old.

PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED: Alpine Lodge has professional cleaners. Our agency contracted follows the CDC and Washington State cleaning guidelines. Between guest stays all sheets and bedding are professionally washed off site. We hire a professional cleaning company who assigns the same person to clean the lodge between all guest stays as this person understands the lodge and takes pride in the work done to present a lovely, clean environ for all guests. Cleaning the lodge takes all day as all surfaces, bathrooms, door handles, light switches etc. are cleaned entirely, floors are disinfected, kitchen countertops, tables etc. all cleaned to the highest standards. All linens from sheets. pillow cases to towels, duvet covers etc. are all taken off site, cleaned professionally and returned to the lodge between guest stays.

BEDROOMS & BATHS:
Flexible sleeping accommodations allow up to 14 guests in beds. The rooms are furnished with comfortable Sealy pillow top mattresses and comforters duvet covers for bedding, blankets with soft linen sheets along with plenty of pillows and additional throw blankets. On the upper 3rd floor there are two large bedrooms with vaulted ceilings. The master bedroom has a sliding glass door leading to a large private outside deck, a king bed, twin bed with a twin trundle bed and a stylish master bathroom. The second 3rd floor bedroom, has a queen bed with two twin beds, two large windows overlooking the sled hill and a private washroom just outside the bedroom door. This allows for up to 8 guests between both bedrooms. The main floor master bedroom is quite large, has 3 big windows and is just off the great room and kitchen area. It features a queen bed plus an additional twin bed with trundle bed. This bedroom sleeps up to 4 and has a huge bathroom with double vanities and an oversized bath just outside the bedrooms French doors. Rounding out the sleeping options is a 2 person pillow top double bed on the lower level 1st floor TV & games room / bonus bedroom area. This room also features a large ( 4th ) washroom facility with full shower, toilet and sink. Many guests use this area as a fourth bedroom and kids love it!

WHAT IS THERE TO DO AT THE LODGE?
What guests write about most is the natural beauty surrounding the property, the abundance of trail walks and mountain bike trails but the obvious wintertime highlight and most talked about is the custom built "private" 150+ yard sled hill, “Luke's Luge” which is illuminated by large 1000 watt halogen lights suspended from a giant log archway for night sledding = days of family fun.. Enjoy three different runs like Ryan’s Express, Stephens shoot or for the experienced sled fanatic at the back of the property, “The Bullet”. The hill also can double as a fun snowboard or beginner ski hill. In summer the hill is great to Mt. bike down or hike from as it leads to many trails on or around the property and into the wilderness.
What else? Outdoor recreation opportunities abound with easy access to the Taneum / Manastash trail that provides over 600 miles of groomed trails for snowmobiling, ATV and dirt bike riding. In the surrounding area enjoy cross country skiing in the Yakima River Valley or the miles of groomed trails in Suncadia 10 minutes from the Lodge. About 25 minutes away enjoy downhill skiing at any of the four Snoqualmie Pass ski areas that boasts one of the largest night skiing operations in the country. Nearby Suncadia operates an ice skating rink, restaurants and Bars as well as a must visit to the “Northern Exposure” (TV-show) town of Roslyn Washington. Feel free to bring your own snowmobiles as the home enjoys quick access without driving, to miles of terrain. In warmer weather enjoy horseback riding, white water rafting, and an abundance of fly fishing guides in the area can provide a custom experience for all especially on the Yakima River which is known nationally for its exceptional catch and release trout fishery. Challenge yourself to 18 holes of high mountain golf at nearby Suncadia’s Golf Courses or sharpen your game at the Sun Country 18 hole Golf Course, which you’ll pass on the way up to the Lodge. Lastly, for the astronomer, a dream comes true! Just turn your eyes towards the heavens and behold a myriad of constellations and stars from the comfort of your 44 foot front deck at any time of year.

Book your vacation NOW at Alpine Lodge! Many of our guests continue to return for visits year after year!!

Mtn House
I believe this is our 5th year going to the Mtn House. We Love it!! the kids sled all day along with adults into the evening. Family games and meals around the big Table. Outstanding Views on the front covered porch of the Mtns. A big roaring fire in the fireplace to cozy up to in the mornings and after sledding. Games for the kids downstairs . And the Best Part no TV or wifi to distract. Thank You Mark and Caroline and Jessica for the wonderful time!!

Winter Retreat
Great property for our annual winter retreat with our children. Kitchen was stocked with amenities that allowed us to cook great meals. The sled hill with lights was great and provided hours of fun even in sub zero temperatures. The property manager was easy to work with and really responsive.

Love this cabin
This is our second year staying in this cabin. The owners were wonderful and very responsive as always! LOVE the sledding hill (as did the kids). We had a full house and it didn't feel crowded at all, lots of space for eating, sleeping, and playing. Will definitely be staying here again in the future!

Disappointed - Would NOT stay again.
We would not stay here again. We booked for mid-February 2023 and stayed only 1 out of 3 planned nights. Despite the beauty of the surrounding area, this lodge’s standards have clearly slipped. The most unacceptable condition of the property was the unplowed driveway, which we emailed the owner a week prior to our stay to ensure there would be no issues getting to the cabin. We were reassured by Mark (the owner) that housekeeping plows the driveway. It was SOLID ice; a few inches think. Our mini-van couldn’t traverse the driveway. The 4x4 pickup made it up the ice sheet once, but it now has a new paint job after sliding down the ice and into one of the bushes on the low side of the driveway. The level of neglect of the driveway was unacceptable. My husband and I literally had to crawl on our hands and knees to get up the driveway because it was so slippery. We saw footprints going up the side of the driveway going underneath a bush, perhaps this is how housekeeping got to the cabin. Regardless, we couldn’t get to and from the cabin and do any of the other activities we had planned in the surrounding area. We did finally make it inside to discover crumbs in various rooms on the floor, stained sheets, cobwebs and dust in the master bedroom, the leather couch downstairs was ripped, huge wrinkles in the carpet that are tripping hazards, and trash in various cabinets/drawers. The oven was filthy and we had to clean out huge chunks of burnt food. The sheets were terrible. There were stains the size of a post-it notes on one of the twin beds as well as droplet stains on various pillow cases. I contacted Mark after arriving to tell him about the terrible condition of the driveway and he said it must have been the “freezing rain” the night before. He was very surprised the driveway was that bad. Again, it was clear this driveway was neglected. And it wasn’t freezing rain – there were no issues with any roads up to the cabin’s driveway and no sign of ice on any trees in the area. The final straw was when my elderly father slipped on the ice just walking outside the house at the top of the driveway (the flat parking area) and hit the back of his head. I contacted Mark again stating that we had to leave. He offered to put additional sand and salt down, but after the lackluster accommodations and inability to use the driveway to get in and out, we had enough. I hope this feedback will improve the interior of the cabin as well as the standards of the care.

My wife and I have 3 children all very active in school, sports and we all enjoy time together as a family which is why we built the Lodge. We wanted a place to enjoy family memories and time with friends in a relaxing environ for all.

Why they chose this property

We always had a dream of building a log home in the Cascades and wanted a place to escape to with our family and friends especially in the dark wet days of the Seattle winter season. The eastern slopes of the Cascade Mts offers plenty of snow and sunshine. We built with location in mind and stunning views in the heart of the Washington Cascade Mts. Every time we go up to the Lodge we pinch ourselves and talk about how gorgeous this area is and how relaxing we feel the minute we get out of the car.

What makes this property unique

I think the best most unique benefit is waking up each morning and looking out those massive great room windows and seeing the natural beauty that surrounds us. Having a cup of good coffee on the front deck and watching the many hummingbirds fly overhead. While that is nice, nothing beats the endless views of the Milky Way when the sun falls and the stars shine. I cant tell you how many shooting stars we see off our front porch whilst taking in the smell of fresh air and pine trees to the bugling of Elk in the distance. So many memorable moments they are so hard to list. We are very fortunate and we thank god and remind ourselves of how lucky we are to be able to enjoy the mountains so much from the comforts of the Lodge we built and share the lodge with so many wonderful guests..
