Fully Equiped Condo just steps from the Ocean
2 Br+2Ba (Sleeps 2-6) Almost everything in this condo is brand new. Condo can sleep 6. The beds are queens, one is pillow top and one is firm and are equipped with luxury linens. The couch is a comfortable double foldout. It has two full bathrooms for the convenience of your guests.This Condo has a fully equipped kitchen with brand new appliances. There are two BBQ decks for grilling. There are extra snorkeling masks and fins and other beach equipment. The lanai has a partial view of Kailua Bay, Kona town and the mountains. There is a mountain breeze.. Great location near the ocean side of the condo but away from the noise of the nightclub/restaurant. One minute walk to the ocean where you can snorkel,fish, surf or swim. You can walk to the old airport beach and a Keiki (kids)swim beach. There is also the beach and swim area used for the Ironman Triathelon, where you can lap swim, snorkle or play in the waves. The Ahuena Heiau of King Kamehameha is across the street and looks as it did when the missionaries first arrived on this Island. The Kailua Bay Pier is right here. In the morning you can see spinner dolphins offshore, and a little bit later you can watch the deep sea fishermen offload, or the cruise ship set off. If you want more civilized activities, the restaurants and clubs are outstanding. The old palace is right across the street where they offer native arts and music as well as tours. You are next door to one of the first churches built in the Hawaiian islands, a beautiful stone structure with Koa wood interior. After touring, there is a cooling salt water pool on grounds and covered, secured parking.
The Big island is the best for active vacationers. It has everything from a live volcano to an active truck and rodeo crowd. You can beach bum, snorkel, scuba or zipline and ride horses. You can even go hunting here, deep sea fish, watch the stars from a huge telescope and snow ski down a volcano.

I live in Colorado and love the Big Island because it has mountains just like home. It also reminds me of my Colorado home because it has opportunities for fun social activities as well as natural unspoiled beauty. I love that Hawaii has both mountains and ocean. I like to be active and there are lots of opportunities for adventure. I can snorkle the beautiful tourquoise ocean or watch a live volcano. No where else could you do both on the same day! My place in Kona has great access, but it is also has all the comforts of my own home. I can refresh, relax and cool off here. Owning this home in Kona on the Big Island is a dream come true.

Why Patti Merrifield chose Historic Kailua Village
I chose this property because its location is ideal for families and active vacationers who want to experience everything they can. This place includes everything I want out of a vacation. The ocean and town activities nearby are great and I appreciate having air conditioned comfort when I return home. Having a condo in town means that sometimes part of the group can go one place and part can go somewhere else. This is great if I want to go shopping while my friends are out trying to catch giant fish. We love to explore the island, but it's fun to start your day talking to locals over coffee at one of the nearby restaurants. I also love the story of King Kamehameha living out his final days here in Kona and all the historical sites that are associated with that time period.
What makes this Condo unique
Kona Plaza is just steps away from many activities but this condo is also comfortable to come home to after traveling around the island. I love the covered parking, in Kona it is such a convenience!

We recently rented this unit for 5 nights. It was very clean, centrally located, large outdoor space and an elevator for anyone who may have difficulty with stairs. It was a great unit for 2 couples with 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Would highly recommend. Thanks for the awesome stay Patti.
We spent a wonderful month in this condo. It is very clean and well stocked. Patti was great to work with! It is a fantastic location, close to everything. We loved walking each morning in town and also used the bike shares located by the catholic church (very reasonable). Our last morning we rented kayaks at the pier and paddled out to the Royal Kona and spent an hour with the dolphins swimming and spinning right near us! I highly recommend Kona and this wonderful property! Kris
Huge and really in the heart of Kona
I'm giving this a 3 star because the A/C went out for the last five days of our holiday and this unit needs A/C because the sun shines in during the afternoon. I must say that when I let the owner know she immediately contacted the building manager to check on things. Turns out the building unit was out and there was nothing the owner could do. She very kindly contacted us after our visit and offered some discount due to the inconvenience. That was very much appreciated. So without the A/C issue I would rate this higher. The place is HUGE. Bedrooms are good with a bathroom outside each. The Lanai is HUGE. You could have a party out there no problem. If you have a larger family and are trying to sleep six in this unit you will have no problem with space. Lots of beach toys including all snorkel gear, boogie boards and coolers. If you want chairs you'll have to rent but a block away is everything you need at Boss Frogs.
The access information was excellent and the underground parking was very nice and completely secure. The kitchen has most things you will need and we really appreciated the dishwasher pods and laundry detergent already there for us.
The unit is very clean which is always very important to us.
The only downsides were that the kitchen was stocked but could do with another pot and some scissors. The view from the Lanai is not really of the water, it is a back alley but again it is huge and has a big table out there to play cards or just hang out in the evening.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and found the unit (besides the A/C issue) to be just fine and met our needs just great.

Very nice condo great location in Kona
This is a great place to stay in Kona! Very clean and has everything you need. Property owners very accommodating.
The condo is clean, modern and excellently maintained. It's quiet, has a big tv, free parking, and suited our needs perfectly. Walking distance to old Kona shopping, restaurants, and boat tours. It's a short drive to Walmart, Safeway, and fast food options.
Location is close to snorkeling, swimming, surfing, shopping and deep sea fishing as well as great dining, musical performances(of all types), and archaeological sites. Eat on the waterfront, swim at King Kamehameha's favorite spots or just roam around this quaint, historical town, there are nearby activities available for all levels of expertise and interest.
