About the property

Quiet, comfortable country log cabin waits for you to get away from it all!

Get away from what ails you in our Secluded Lakeside Pine Cabin with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms on 12 acres on gated private road near the Cohutta Wilderness. Set a line in our private fishing pond or muddy your fat tires, hikin’ boots or huntin’ coveralls on some of Georgia’s most beautiful mountain land, nearly at our doorstep.

Cabin is situated on big, grassy yard beside stocked pond 10 miles from charming downtown Ellijay. Rent our rustic jon boat for a paddle cruise or fishing tour around the pond. Watch the deer graze and turkeys peck from the wrap-around porch. Relax by the campfire while your buddies catch a mess of fish; clean ‘em on our outdoor table, eat ‘em in our spacious country kitchen. Bring your football, soccer ball or croquet set (?) for a game on the grass; come on back in the house to recover in comfort. Listen to the bullfrogs croon on the pond in the evening.

Home has all wood floors, master and full bathroom on main, two bedrooms and bath upstairs in the loft. Rock fireplace with gas logs in living room invites warm conversation or quality TV time. Yes, we have Satellite TV with lots of channels. And, although we’re in the backwoods, we have wireless Internet, too!

All linens provided. Full size washer & dryer. Sleeps 6.

Area amenities: Numerous hiking trails in the Cohutta Mountains and wilderness area lead you to the Conasauga River and Lake Conasauga, waterfalls, and massive “Big Poplar,” the second largest tree in North Georgia. Mountain bike on Forest Service roads or contact a nearby outfitter about gearing you up and getting you out. Take a short drive up to Fort Mountain State Park for gorgeous views of the Georgia mountains from the car or trail and marvel at mysterious rock ruins from another age. Drive into Ellijay to get a pizza or dine at one of the unique local restaurants. Discover history, get nostalgic at local antique shops. Plan your fall visit around the apple harvest and the Georgia Apple Festival, 2nd and 3rd weekends in October. Hunt for deer, turkey, bear, feral hogs in the Cohutta Wildlife Management Area or three other WMAs within close range. Go 4-wheeling on trails in the Conasauga section of the Chattahoochee National Forest. Saddle up your horses for rides in the National Forest or at Fort Mountain State Park.

Come on up to the Country. Stay a while in our Secluded Lakeside Pine Cabin!

Long term rental available. Owner interested in potential sale.

About Jane Harrison

We're an outdoor family whose idea of a fun vacation usually involves activities in or around water, woods, and trails. This place gets us where we can have all that, plus the amenities of a charming small town and the solace of the mountains.

Why Jane Harrison chose Northwest High Country

There's no better place to enjoy the Georgia Mountains than in our country log cabin where you're away from it all, but close to what matters.

What makes this cabin unique

When we're relaxing at the cabin, we like to pick up a summer novel to read on the front porch swing or warm up in winter by the fireplace gas logs. We like to feed the fish, too, and thrill at the huge lunkers who come up with mouths wide open. In the evenings, we relax on the porch rockers while the bulldogs croon on the pond. We enjoy watching wild turkeys peck and deer graze the grassy yard. The field awaits our soccer ball or your football or dinner on the ground!

Exactly what the picture shows, seclusion.

We loved this place and plan on coming back again. The private fishing pond and boat kept us busy, and we really never wanted to leave the place. I think maybe two vehicles went by, so we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere.

Perfect Getaway - Secluded & Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable and clean cabin on beautiful grounds with awesome pond! Off the beaten path but close to the town of Ellijay. Perfect for those that find it difficult to relax... it is just so serene and peaceful. Great for families with young children- spacious yard for running and playing ball or frisbee. Gather around an evening fire and talk about the new memories made that day! Just bring food; kitchen has all necessary tools to cook!

Heading home, but would have loved to stay another few days! :-)

Absolutely Beautiful!!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do not do this place justice. The cabin was perfect for all 6 of ud6. We had everything we needed. Several extras we didn't expect. The lake was gorgeous! We did catch fish even for October. Jane and Candace were extremely helpful in answering questions. We are already planning our next trip.

Very Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our quick little quiet weekend away. The cabin was just perfect. It was a great break away from our busy lives. Got to visit some of the falls and apple orchards around the area. My husband got to fish and I just got to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Can't wait to book again here!

Peaceful Setting

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely place! The cabin was homey, clean and comfortable, with everything you need. We spent a long weekend fishing and relaxing and loved every minute of it. Caught a lot of brim and one monster who I never got to see as he broke the line before I could get him in. I plan on going back for a second chance to catch him! If you want peace and quiet with no cell service, this is the place to be. Jane was most accommodating and so easy to work with. Looking forward to staying again!

Quiet and Relaxing Get-A-Way

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I had a very relaxing vacation last week and this great hideaway. The cabin is so warm and welcoming -- relaxed comfortable furnishings, everything neat and clean. The property is beautifully manicured. It was so nice and quiet -- the only thing we could hear were fish flipping in the pond and birds. Such a great break from the big city. We caught a lot of fish (all brim) -- no whoppers, but so much fun to catch so many. It was nice just sitting in a chair by the pond peacefully fishing and being quiet with nature.
