About the property

With an amazing gulf view, a private balcony, the beach and pool at your immediate disposal, what more could you want in a getaway? Walk just a few steps to the beach and enjoy the sugar white sands and emerald green waters. Retreat to the private balcony to relish the golden sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. Come see the exquisite beaches that are among the most beautiful in the world, right here on Okaloosa Island.

Aqua Villa is a four-story, 24-unit condo building directly on the beach. Amenities include a large swimming pool, elevator, common grilling area, grass and fenced area for kids to play, poolside lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas. Because it is a smaller building, it provides a sense of intimacy with its environment of rustling palms, the scent of the gulf waters and the ever-present sound of the surf.

Conveniently located close to grocery, restaurants and shops, you won’t need to travel far for supplies or amenities while you vacation on the shore. A convenience store and post office located across the street provide for your immediate needs without even getting in your car.

This unit accommodates up to seven persons: the master bedroom has a California king bed and a private bath with Jacuzzi tub; the second bedroom has a queen and a single bed. A queen sofa sleeper is in the living area. The unit has a modern, fully-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar. The living area includes a six person dining and coffee tables, couch and chairs. Private balcony is furnished at cocktail height, to enable spectacular gulf views. Plenty of closet and drawer space is available for your personal items. Off street parking and carts make it easy to load and unload your vehicle.

Aqua Villa and Okaloosa Island are conveniently located close to major highways and the Okaloosa Regional Airport. Ft. Walton Beach has public transportation that runs on a regular schedule from the Island to shopping and other local attractions. There is ample shopping close to Okaloosa Island. There are a number day trips you can take to see other sites including Destin, Seaside, and Pensacola, among others.

There is any number of golf courses at your disposal. If you like to fish, there are several fishing charter locations for Gulf excursions, inter-coastal and fresh water fishing. Other recreational activities include kayaking, snorkeling with dolphins, parasailing, surfing, boogie boarding, body surfing, sailing, boating, mini-golf, and beachcombing, just to name a few.

If you just want to relax, enjoy the pool area or take our umbrella and chairs to the beach (you'll find them in your unit). Aqua Villa is right on the beach where the action and relaxation meet in the most beautiful way. Come see why this is one of the nicest places you will ever find. Even if you only come once, you will always remember the time you spent in this front-row seat to paradise. About Sarah Atkins

My husband and I have been coming here together since our honeymoon in 1994 We bought this condo from my mom in December 2015

Sarah Atkins purchased this condo in 2016

Why Sarah Atkins chose Fort Walton Beach

Aqua Villa is smaller - just 24 condos total - and you don't need to walk through a lobby to get to the beach. Just walk right out the front door, down a small set of stairs and you're at the pool! (There is an elevator too for when you have luggage, etc). You'll love staying here.

Beautiful memories starring The Emerald Coast!

  • 4 of 5

Annual beach vacations (more than one if possible) are a must for my sanity. I usually avoid peak summer season however, thankfully, Aqua Villa is a relatively small complex with an expansive beachfront setting so it was not as congested as the bigger buildings and the powdering white sand is fantastic. The water could not have been more gorgeous than it was the first several days of our stay. Towards the end of the week a heavy rain shower churned things up a bit but honestly it was fun to jump the waves and we even saw a guy doing a little surfing. The marine life was exciting ...sitting on the balcony we saw dolphins jumping and a guy catch 2 fish with his bare hands but the topper was a school of sharks that made their way down the coastline. Yes, it was amazing to marvel at the sight of an actual shark steps away but no worries, since the water was so clear you could see plain as day and we just moved out of the way.

Pros for the condo - beautiful beachfront view from the private balcony (high top table & chairs much appreciated), open kitchen equipped with nice cookware, good A/C cooled things down in hot temps and convenience store located next to the parking lot.

Cons for this condo - no ceiling fans, dated furniture and decor (most places I've stayed are much more updated), guest bed mattress was kind of hard, master bedroom needs window coverings that block the street lights and the front door lock was rough to open so probably needs to be thoroughly cleaned or replaced at this point.

I greatly appreciate owners that allow me to bring my small 4-legged baby so I will keep this condo in mind for future trips to the spectacular Emerald Coast!

The condo was good. The sofa was not too comfortable and wished the whirlpool tub would have worked. The kitchen was stocked very well. But no hair dryer. Very good place to stay. Just wished the ocean had been clear. It had seaweed in it. But we still had a good time.

Owner's Response: Hello Nina and prospective guests - We will be replacing the sofa asap, and providing a hair dryer as well. The gulf is unpredictable based on weather and currents. Sometimes it is totally clear and flat, sometimes lots of waves and a strong current, and sometimes it has debris from other areas in the golf. Glad you had a good time and hope to have you again in the future! Sarah

Wonderful vacation

  • 3 of 5

We had some problems while we were there. The Health Dept. closed the pool (while we were in it). It took a couple of days for them to fix the pool pump. Some units had 3 cars in 1 parking space so it was like backing out of a bowling alley. The unit looked clean but dated. From experience with beach rentals, I mopped the tile floors right when we got there, and they were very dirty. The pullout couch needs to be replaced, but it had plenty of good sized towels. That being said, we had a great time. The little private balcony was great. The second floor gave a great view of the gulf over the dunes and being right at the stairs gave easy access to the beach. Since this is a smaller building, you didn't have to fight for beach space and I love the beach.

Owner's Response: Hello Debra and other readers of this review - Our sleeper sofa mattress and couch "insides" were newly replaced in the fall of 2016, however on reading these comments we will be working to purchase another completely new living room set soon and no later than our trip there this fall 2017. Any future guest who has a complaint about the cleanliness of the tile floor, or any other cleanliness, can give me a call any time after arrival and we will arrange for our cleaner to come and correct any deficiencies. Beach units are very difficult for tile floors; there is salt in the air and it does settle on everything, but we will be happy to give a second mopping for any one that requests it. Sarah

Great view. Decent for what you pay.

My family and I stayed the week of 3/18/17. This was our first stay in the pan handle. We knew it would be cool for this time of year. I thought I booked a week in a facility with a heated pool. I apparently overlooked the pool is NOT heated. Manual door key entry was a pain to secure our things each time we left. A keyless entry pad would be a nice upgrade. The kitchen was fully stocked and great! Living area and bar stools are not comfortable. The fabric on the furniture looked worn. Likely from all the sand. The condo had a broom but a swifter wet jet or something to give a quick wet mop would have been nice. There was an old school mop in the closet but I was on vacation too ya know. Our feet were black after a few hours walking bare foot on the floors. Balcony has spectacular views and we did sight a dolphin. Super cool. Master bed was great. Lots of extra pillows and blankets. The full size bed in the second room was squeaky but fine for the pre-teens. TVs were flat screens and mounted on the walls. All were great but I thought I was going to take an eye out in the master bedroom. Had to be cautious of the height level. The bathrooms were clean. Totally could use some exhaust fans. There was no circulation after a shower or taco night. ; ) The bath tub floors were super slick so the towel bars came in handy. Master Bedroom carpet could be cleaner. The sand really must do a number on the floors to maintain. Beach toys and chairs that came with the condo were great. We even added a few larger buckets and a wake board that hopefully stays. All in all a great week. We would book it again. But in warmer months. The area restaurants and grocery stores are over priced. But we expected that. Definitely worth the short trip to Destin to rent a boat and check out crab Island. This was by far our favorite part of the trip. 2nd fave....opening the door with the beach less than 2 minutes at your feet.

Owner's Response: Hi Ladoshia - Thank you very much for your input. John and I will be there in a month and will definitely be tending to these suggestions. The living room furniture is scheduled for replacement yet this spring. You are absolutely correct that the sand and salt do a lot of damage to everything - and very quickly. We will hire "deep cleans" of all of the flooring as soon as we have a vacancy, and I will definitely add a Swifter, that is a great suggestion. Thanks again for your comments and I hope that you can return to our condo again in the years ahead. Sarah, Owner
