This deck can be accessed from both the living and dining rooms on the main floor & is furnished with an outdoor dining table & a number of comfortable chairs. About John & Kay Krakoski

Hi I'm John, this is my family; Kay my wife, daughters Jessica and Sarah, and son John Michael. I am the 5th generation of my family to own this land. This is the 3rd piece of the puzzle since my mother had to sell all of it back in 1980. My wife and I were fortunate enough to be able to retire and purchase these properties back. We rebuilt the old farmhouse just down the road in 2008 and acquired the property next door (Lusch Acres Retreat) in 2010. We are excited about sharing the beauty and peacefulness that 'Ringer Hill' and the Lusch Acres properties afford our guests.

John & Kay Krakoski purchased this chateau / country house in 2012

Why John & Kay Krakoski chose Endless Mountains

Sullivan County is considered the 'Gem' of the Endless mountains. At 2,100 ft of elevation and heavily forested you enjoy the cool summer nights. Also, there are only 6,000 full time residents in the whole county. The mountainous terrain, streams, lakes, State parks and Forest has retained all of the beauty and peacefulness I remember as a small boy growing up on 'Ringer Hill'

What makes this chateau / country house unique

Lusch Acres Lodge has a private setting away from the main highways (Rte 87, 487 & 220) but is centrally located to the county as a whole so it is very convenient to the many attractions the county has to offer and it is also only a 5 minute drive into Dushore for groceries, church, and restaurants. So watch the Deer, Turkeys or Bear from the decks or head out on one of many adventures.

A Place to calm your soul

  • 5 of 5

The moment I walked into the house I knew it was going to be a great week. The sign on the chalkboard in the mudroom (I absolutely love that mudroom) said "Welcome Joanne and Co.". The mudroom led to the kitchen with the dining room off to the right and straight ahead the living room. I was so impressed by how much room was in this house. Each bedroom was so tastefully decorated and provided you with a feeling of privacy. The bed was very comfortble and my sisters and in-laws agreed. One night we spread blankets out in the yard because we were in awe of the night sky. The stars were incredible. Another night we had a fire and early morning would find me on the porch with my sisters sipping coffee. Oh and we can't forget he happy hour :). Anyway, I am one of few words but I will tell you that this is definitely a great place to rent for just a few people or a big crowd. I would definitely rent again. Thank you Kay and John for your hospitality.

Very comfortable and spacious

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful visit. There was ample room for all 9 people. Everyone was comfortable with plenty of space.

Enjoying my coffee out on the deck while listening to the song birds was a perfect way to start every day.

Great Location for a family reunion

  • 5 of 5

14 adult members of our family met at this home for a family reunion that was so relaxing! We spent time wandering the area, but drank coffee together in the morning on the front porch and made s'mores on the fire pit in the back. The kitchen was bring enough to make big breakfasts and big dinners. The owners were so very helpful and accommodating. We will return!!!

This is a great place for a family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This was the fourth time we've stayed here and we will be going back again. The lodge is nice and clean and there is room for our whole family of 7 to stay comfortably. We enjoyed a day at Rickett's Glen and another day at Knoebel's while we were there. We enjoyed driving around the area looking for deer in the evenings (and we saw lots of them). We also enjoyed having camp fires in the evenings. Our grandsons enjoy the large yard area to play (and so did we). We highly recommend the Lusch Acres Lodge as a great place to stay.
