LAKEFRONT FAMILY RETREAT off the beaten track near LAKE PLACID

This private apartment was built specifically to accommodate families and it is located on the only private road that provides year round access to Oseetah Lake.
• .The loft is rented weekly from Saturday to Saturday during July & August
• .Ideal as a family retreat (maximum capacity 2 adults and 3 children or 4 adults)
• NEWLY BUILD RAIL TRAIL CONNECTS DIRECTLY TO OUR PRIVATE ROAD
• NO MORE THAN TWO VEHICLES
• NO TRAILERS or RVs and NO MOTORIZED BOATS
• The loft is adjacent to the owner's residence. It is private and is the only rental on the entire 1.7 acre property.
• The lakeside deck, floating dock, swim raft, canoes, kayaks and small sandy beach are shared with the owner's family and grandchildren.
• The newly completed Rail Trail is connects to our private access road
• The loft and property are totally smoke-free environments
• Shallow sandy beach facing south is perfect for small children
• A standup paddle board, 2 Canoes and 2 solo kayaks are available at no additional cost
• From the dock and lakeside deck, there are expansive panoramic views of the western High Peaks and Ampersand Mountain
• Wildlife such as bald eagles, loons and osprey are often seen at Oseetah Lake
• The lake side fire pit accommodates family campfires
• The Loft's private entrance leads to a large guest vestibule, with storage space for gear and to the stairway up to the main floor (the apartment is not handicapped accessible).
• The loft is nestled among the treetops with abundant natural light and panoramic views of surrounding forest and mountains.
• Living space is designed in a clean, fresh and uncluttered manner with hardwood floors and artisanal wood-work finishes emphasized by high cathedral ceilings and large bay windows.
• Kitchenette includes designer concrete counters, an island, and All Clad cookware.
• Wood burning stove provides additional warmth for cozy evenings.
• Gas fired Weber grill on the loft deck overlooks the forest and lake.
• Two cozy bedrooms w/one King bed and one Queen bed. They enjoy natural lighting.
• Full bathroom includes shower, bath and large mirror.
• Families may view DVD’s on the LCD TV.

Family Lake Vacation

Anita & Lem were wonderful hosts and shared their beautiful property with our family. Our girls had an incredible time kayaking, canoeing and exploring the lake. If you're looking for a quiet, secluded lake getaway, this is the place for you.

A week in the Adirondacks

We had a wonderful week of vacation; the apartment is very comfortable and in a beautiful location. Lem and Anita had everything needed to enjoy the stay, the apartment is well supplied, and they provide all the necessary equipment to enjoy the lake.

Beautiful stay with great hosts

We had a great stay at Lem and Anita’s property! The lake is beautiful and the loft had everything we needed. Lem and Anita were super accommodating and went out of their way to buy us 2 new box fans to keep us comfortable as we visited during a heat wave. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful time at the Oseetah Loft. This place is everything it purports to be--cozy, beautiful views, amazing access to wilderness right outside your door and friendly and helpful owners who will give you your space but are available for questions. While I was here in the winter, I imagine it is great in any season. I highly recommend this place!

Beautiful Apartment - Well located for visits to Lake Placid and Saranac Lake

The apartment/loft is well situated for visits to Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, and the High Peaks region. Located on Lake Oseetah for paddling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and access to the Saranac Lake Chain. The property is beautiful and while it is shared with the hosts, it is very private and quiet. Lem and Anita were wonderful hosts. We look forward to visiting again!

Great area/rental for families with small kids and couples

Enjoyed our stay! Plenty of things to do on the property and within a short distance for families with small kids. Swimming area around the property is great for young kids to wade, swim and fish. Kayaks and canoes available for use on site as well as the fire pit. The loft was well equipped with everything for onsite meal preparation. Owners are very friendly and willing to provide lots of information on local activities in the nearby area. Would recommend renting this loft

Wonderful Adirondack Escape

Lem and Anita's property is wonderful! We stayed for a week during my son's CAN/AM camp. The location is conveniently located between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. The property is gorgeous: mountain views, beautiful lake, abundant wildlife, peaceful and quiet. The accommodations are private, clean and very nice. The dock, diving platform and kayaks/canoes were big hits. I would highly recommend Lem & Anita's property to anyone looking to have a phenomenal Adirondack vacation!

Our home away from home!

This summer was our second stay at Oseetah Lake Loft. It is a great place to experience the adirondacks, with the comfort of a great bed and well-equiped kitchen. We paddled for miles from the dock and did some great hikes that were only a short distance away. Lem and Anita are wonderful hosts that will give you the insider's scoop on almost anything you could want to do. As long as our kids appreciate the outdoors, we will continue to return to Oseetah lake.

Perfect Getaway!!

We spent a week of nature, comfort, board games and great dvd's. I traveled alone with four kids (15,13 and 10) and we had an amazing time. We enjoyed canoing and fishing, hiking and spending time together. The Loft is gorgeous and practical, Anita and Lem are great hosts and good for me to know they were around. Perfect location just minutes away from Lake Placid and Saranac. We will defenetly plan another visit to the Loft soon!

A wonderful and cozy waterfront location with thoughtful hosts

We had a wonderful week-long stay at the Oseetah Lake Loft. It was our first longer trip with our baby and Anita and Lem were very thoughtful hosts. We enjoyed the lakefront and mountain views from the Adirondack chairs by the dock, and we also swam in the lake. The loft was cozy and comfortable, which was great since we did encounter a few rainy days during our stay. We took advantage of the kitchenette and grill and cooked most of our meals and enjoyed sitting out on the deck listening to the quiet serenade of birds and loons. We would absolutely recommend the Oseetah Lake Loft and would certainly stay there again. Thank you Anita and Lem for sharing your beautiful property with us.

We're so glad we came back!

This was our second trip to the Oseetah Lake Loft and we were just as enchanted this time as we were on our first trip. This cozy loft has all the amenities you want plus stunning views and close proximity to both the great outdoors and civilization. If you like cross country skiing, there seems to be a gorgeous option off of every road. The owners also make this place the perfect retreat--Anita and Lem are kind and generous, helpful but not intrusive. We look forward to seeing both them and the loft again. My only hesitation with writing this review is that others will know how great this place is and then we will have a harder time booking it in the future!

Adirondack Paddling Adventures

This loft was a perfect get away for my parents, sister & I. It was remote enough that you could find peace and solitude, but still close to many areas to explore in the Adirondack region ... from hiking to paddling to biking, opportunities await. The property had beautiful lake access for anyone wanting to get on/in the water. Canoes & kayaks were available for use, but we brought our own kayaks for other lakes we wanted to kayak on the in the region after this stay. Access to get our boats down to the water was quite easy. Oseetah Lake is a great size for paddling and we loved how it connected to other lakes for longer adventures.The loft area to stay was just as expected - a very clean and neat, functional living space with many well thought out details (quick example - plenty of hooks on the wall for hanging clothes/towels), just wonderful! Lem and Anita were very hospitable and so willing to share great suggestions of things to do in the area. The only disappointment was that we didn't have enough time to explore everything we wanted to! We will definitely look to stay here in the future and hope to return to the region soon.

This is about as close to wilderness as one can get while having all the amenities of home, as well as being only a 5-minute drive down a well-kept private dirt road to Saranac Lake or Lake Placid grocery stores. The loft is beautifully designed and appointed, and even though it's not huge, the high ceilings and plentiful windows looking out into nature make it feel quite spacious. We ate all our meals on the lovely balcony, which looks through a pine woods towards the lake. The kitchen is well-stocked for virtually every conceivable need. I was initially a little wary of the convection cooktop, but found it quite easy to use. The beds are quite comfortable, and the place was immaculate. Having breakfast while listening to the loons and sandhill cranes, as well as having a daily visit from the supposedly elusive black-backed woodpecker, was magical. Other than an occasional local motorboat or two, the serenity of just sitting by the lake is a first-class spa experience. The star-gazing is phenomenal, as well - we saw numerous shooting stars while we were there. Anita and Lem are warm, friendly, gracious hosts who live on the property, and who manage the delicate balance of being available for consultation without being intrusive at all. We enjoyed exploring their wild gardens among the pines, as well. We have definitely found our "forever rental" for the Saranac area!

Absolutely beautiful!

Wow, I cannot adequately describe our recent experience here on Oseetah Lake. First of all, I would like to say thank you to the owners, Lem and Anita. They are wonderful people who helped make our stay the best ever. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The loft is absolutely beautiful. The woodworking is gorgeous and all the linens are very comfortable. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We lived like Kings there! We went fishing every day and we caught tons of fish! Our daughter caught a huge 10 pound Northern Pike. When we weren't fishing, we swam to the cool rock. We loved seeing the deer on our way down the road too. We loved it there! Thank you so much!

Unparalleled property in the heart of the Adirondacks

Unparalleled sweeping view of mountains from dock on pristine lake. Unit is private, beautiful, and well-stocked for everything we needed. Provided coffee is a nice, warm touch. Grounds are sublime Adirondack habitat(s), a work of art-in-progress by the owners, with walking trails and an incredible array of flora. Awesome swimming dock and rock, and place to watch sunrises and sunsets. A small armada of human-powered boats. Approach to house from Saranac Lake through Oseetah Bog is beautiful in and of itself, and is also a great place to walk. Lem and Anita are pleasant, engaging, creative, and helpful. We will be back again, because I can't think how one could improve upon a central Adirondack experience.

Great place, great hosts

The property is just as described--and wonderful. The flat is very comfortable and spacious, with a very nice private deck. The kitchen is well stocked. The forested property is very large; well isolated from neighbors. We made ample use of the dock and the available boats. Lem and Anita were wonderful hosts, always willing to provide hiking, paddling, and dining recommendations. Cell coverage is a bit spotty, but the Wifi was more than adequate. We look forward to another stay in the future.

Loved our Adirondack vacation & our comfortable stay at The Loft!

Our family of four loved our stay at The Loft for our vacation for a week this August. Lem & Anita were fantastic hosts; there to welcome us when we arrived, a wealth of knowledge about the lake and surrounding areas, suggesting activities/places to do/see for our family. We loved the details in all the woodwork in the loft, everything was comfortable and as described/pictured in the listing. The grounds were beautiful. The canoes, kayaks, and paddle board provided us some fun ways to explore the lake. There is so much to do in the area. We rode bikes on the Bloomingdale Bog Trail, rented a pontoon boat, went for hikes, took the kids to the Wild Center, visited some of the olympic sites, shopped in Lake Placid, ate in Saranac Lake Village. We enjoyed the area and would love to return. Thank you, Lem & Anita for helping us to have a great vacation this summer!

Lovely, well-equipped rental in beautiful location on Lake Oseetah

Two good size bedrooms and living area with kitchen, dining area, sitting area, and a lovely porch big enough for 4 people to dine. The entrance on the ground floor has an area for storing hiking/canoeing equipment etc which is great for keeping it convenient and not cluttering the living area. This was a great rental for four adults. It is attached to the owners' home but quite private. The owners are great - very friendly, accomodating and helpful. We enjoyed a tour of their amazing natural gardens.

Awesome Location

What a great place. The apartment was super clean, great beds, lots of extras (salt,pepper, oil,sugar...). Super hosts with great recommendations for the area. Lots of water toys, to make it easy to explore the lake. Oseetah Lake is beautiful and warm enough for swimming. We even caught fish to eat. We plan to come back in the future.
