Perfect location for our getaway. Roomy home. Nice front yard to relax. Quiet area. King size bed upstairs. Queen downstairs. Plenty of towels. Washer/dryer handy too. Engelheim Vineyards (winery) just down the street. Definitely will book again.
The cabin has been updated nicely. The queen bed is where we slept and the bed was comfortable. The cabin is conveniently located with very good road access. We were disappointed as the original description stated there was a wood burning fireplace. It was gas and not working when we arrived. Someone did fix the issue, but did so when we were not in the cabin. We also had an issue with yellow jackets and my wife was stung. Early one morning an exterminator showed up as we were getting ready to leave for the day and my wife told him no one informed us of his arrival, so we asked him to return another day. I see the claim the fireplace was wood burning has been corrected and I hope the yellow jacket issue has been resolved. This could be a real problem of you’re allergic to bee stings.

Our stay was good the property was clean and easy to access. The check instructions were clear and we had no problems accessing! It was cozy! Our only issues was we left brownies on the kitchen counter overnight as we didn’t want them hard in the refrigerator and some sweet ants got to them (Our fault)! The property in the back had some dog and we are not dog people so they frightened us a bit as we thought they might come down the hill but they didn’t. Also the down stairs area could probably use some curtains as it would make it a little more private. But overall we loved the cabin!!

Nice cabin
The cabin and location was nice. The pond does have fish in it. My husband caught and released the fish. There is a lake nearby. Engelheim Winery is within walking distance. Cajun Drive is a nice paved road to walk. We took our dog for a walk on it. Not very much traffic. Amicalola Falls State Park is not too far away. There are several trails leading to the beautiful waterfall there. It does cost $5 per vehicle to enter the park. This cabin does share a driveway with the house behind it. There were several vehicles that went in and out, but never saw anyone outside in their yard. Be aware that they do have 2 dogs that stay outside. They barked every time they saw us outside and even came down to the cabin several times. We kept our dog on her leash while outside. Thankfully, they never got too close to us or our dog. The cabin is nice and clean. The stairs leading upstairs to the master bedroom are a little steep, so be watchful if you have little ones with you. If you have little ones, I would suggest taking a baby gate to put up at the bottom of the stairs. I would stay here again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review of your stay, Sherri. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the cabin’s location and cleanliness, as well as the nearby attractions like Engelheim Winery, Cajun Drive, and Amicalola Falls State Park. It sounds like you and your husband had a wonderful time fishing and exploring the beautiful surroundings with your dog, which makes us so happy to know.
We also appreciate you letting us know about the challenges you experienced with the neighboring dogs and the steep stairs leading to the master bedroom. We understand how the dogs’ barking and visits could have been unsettling, especially while keeping your dog on a leash, and we’re sorry for any discomfort this caused during your stay. Additionally, thank you for the helpful tip about the stairs for families with little ones—it’s great advice that will surely assist future guests.
Please know that we have shared your concerns with our local team so they can look into ways to improve the experience for everyone. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us maintain the quality and comfort of our homes.
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding, and we would love to welcome you back for another stay in the future.
In town for a softball tournament so not much time to enjoy. Comfortable, clean, and convenient to the files and town. Nice scenery and the pond would have been a bonus.
