About Don Willoughby
We moved here from San Antonio, TX in 2006. Both of us are retired - my wife from a teaching career, me from commercial real estate. We live on site in a separate home 30 yards away and separated by a privacy fence. Hobbies include working on the place, organic gardening, photography, hunting, hiking, etc. We're active in our Church and local community.
Why Don Willoughby chose Ingram
This has been in the family since 1930's. We're blessed that is our turn now! Watching the birds, deer and other wildlife from the cabin porch or the from the Guadalupe River dock lends itself to a peaceful stay away from home.
What makes this Cabin unique
This place has been enjoyed by several generations in our family and, way back before that by Native American Indians. Some Indian artifacts can be seen in the back field. Many flint chips, some tools and an occasional point shows up on the surface.

We loved the cabin! It is very clean and has everything you need with thoughtful touches. The river access is a very short walk and well maintained. Don is very responsive and generous. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the good review! It's nice to hear we are doing a good job! And I will let our housekeeper know she is appreciated too. Come see us again!
Picture perfect cabin with great river access
A great place to unwind. Comfortable, spotless cabin with a front porch that's a great spot to begin and end the day watching the hummingbirds feed. Unbeatable river access with a covered area, chairs, and recreational gear. We go back every year! A favorite.
Thanks for the great review - and thanks for coming back each year! We enjoy people who enjoy the place!
Loved that it was right on the river.
Perfect “little” cabin on the river w/amazing outdoor amenities!!!
What a wonderful place to stay- we looked and looked for a home in the hill country to rent before deciding on this one. We are just amazed how perfect the entire property was for our Father’s Day weekend! The cabin might be little but the arrangement is done so well that none of the place feels too small. Having two bathrooms was a super bonus! The pavilion outside near the cabin is perfect for relaxing outside and grilling up dinner! The ceiling fan helps keep you cool on the hot summer nights! The lower level by the river takes this property to a whole new level! The big grassy area was so perfect for games and just letting the kids run around! The rock patio out by the river is the best! Tons of seating and shade everywhere you look! All of the water toys are fun for floating or paddling around! We can’t wait to come back again! Thank you Don for such a great weekend!!!!
Wow, thank you for the great review! As we mentioned to you, it's good to see guests enjoy the place as you did. Come see us again!
Charming get away
What an idyllic spot. Open space with green everywhere. Rolling lawn down to the river. Beautiful view from the porch of the cabin or swinging in the hammock down by the river. Enjoyed watching hummingbirds at the feeder while making breakfast and seeing the armadillo strolling in the lawn at sunset.
Cabin was bright and airy. Everything sufficient to our needs. Bed in the bedroom very comfortable. Dark and quiet at night.
Don and Jeanne could not have been more accommodating. It was a great stay. Would definitely return. Only drawback was additional sleeping would not be private enough for another couple, but fine for a family.
Thanks! We enjoyed speaking with you guys Too. Come see us again!
An excellent Hill Country Get-Away for our family!
The Cabin at Greentrees was so inviting, tucked away on a private property with the beautiful Guadalupe a short walk away. The property is immediately luring with the wildflowers, lush grounds that are well cared for, and the quaint cabin nearby. The owners, Don and Jeanie, were friendly, accommodating, and waiting for us upon arrival. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed for our weekend. Clean accommodations, fire wood, two grills, and all the fun and games the kids could have hoped. Paddle boards, kayaks, fishing gear, and games kept them busy and happy all weekend long. Shopping and antiques were close by for me. We enjoyed getting to have our own slice of the beautiful Texas Hill Viunrty for a few days. We look forward to returning.
TEXAS HILL COUNTRY!
This area is known for it's hunting, summer camps, and outright beauty. Lots of good places to eat, hike, view wildlife. Visit the Point Theater and its Stonehenge replica, Kerr Arts and Cultural Center, Cailloux Theater, Kerr Wildlife Management Area. Stroll along the neat shops on Old Ingram Loop. Lots of things to do if you can get off the front porch or out of the Guadalupe River.
