About Don Willoughby
We moved here from San Antonio, TX in 2006. Both of us are retired - my wife from a teaching career, me from commercial real estate. We live on site in a separate home 30 yards away and separated by a privacy fence. Hobbies include working on the place, organic gardening, photography, hunting, hiking, etc. We're active in our Church and local community.
Why Don Willoughby chose Ingram
This has been in the family since 1930's. We're blessed that is our turn now! Watching the birds, deer and other wildlife from the cabin porch or the from the Guadalupe River dock lends itself to a peaceful stay away from home.
What makes this Cabin unique
This place has been enjoyed by several generations in our family and, way back before that by Native American Indians. Some Indian artifacts can be seen in the back field. Many flint chips, some tools and an occasional point shows up on the surface.

An excellent Hill Country Get-Away for our family!
The Cabin at Greentrees was so inviting, tucked away on a private property with the beautiful Guadalupe a short walk away. The property is immediately luring with the wildflowers, lush grounds that are well cared for, and the quaint cabin nearby. The owners, Don and Jeanie, were friendly, accommodating, and waiting for us upon arrival. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed for our weekend. Clean accommodations, fire wood, two grills, and all the fun and games the kids could have hoped. Paddle boards, kayaks, fishing gear, and games kept them busy and happy all weekend long. Shopping and antiques were close by for me. We enjoyed getting to have our own slice of the beautiful Texas Hill Viunrty for a few days. We look forward to returning.
Very Nice Cabin and Property
The owners were great, friendly people who made our stay perfect. The river is close by and we enjoyed using the kayaks. This is a bird paradise with feeders and water features. Will stay again someday.
Perfect Family Cabin
The cabin was exactly what my family was looking for, and we couldn't have been happier with the property it sits on. We kayaked, grilled out, caught a few fish, and enjoyed the evenings by the fire under the pavilion. Great place!!
Glad ya'll had a good time and thanks for the positive review! Good to hear you used the fireplace in the pavillion, especially with the cooler weather in mid-March!
Come see us again!
We found the perfect spot
The grounds were perfect, the cabin was very clean and well stocked, and Don, the owner, could not have been a more helpful and nice guy! The pics on the site do not do justice to how big the property actually is and I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants to fall off of the grid and relax for a few days!
Wonderful! Exactly what we wanted!
This was the perfect place for our Hill Country visit! Beautifully maintained, yet respect for the rustic! We loved the creative birdbath and view of nature as we sat on the porch! Access to the river was easy, and the patio was perfect for viewing reflections of the fall trees in the river! We couldn't resist an afternoon nap in the large hammocks! The photo book on the coffee table offered insights to the love that fills this cabin! Attention to detail was everywhere, including mini flashlights, mosquito spray, and a binder with menus for local restaurants in the area! We hope to visit again!
Thanks for the thanks! Always good to hear how we are doing and what people like! Come see us again!
Cozy with all the trimmings of a 1st Class Resort!
We absolutely loved Green Trees! Fully outfitted (except Wash/Dryer) and was able to make breakfasts and dinners. The pavilion is perfect for meeting, playing and visiting. Came with beach towels, bug spray, fishing poles for the kiddos and sun screen in case you need it. My kiddos loved the loft for relaxing and sleeping in. The river area is posh and laid out for hanging out there all afternoon or evening! Nature was great! The owners are super nice and accessible. Even had a notebook with local dining recommendations. What a wonderful repose from the concrete city life! Would definitely like to stay there again!
We're glad you guys enjoyed the time!
TEXAS HILL COUNTRY! This area is known for it's hunting, summer camps, and outright beauty. Lots of good places to eat, hike, view wildlife. Visit the Point Theater and its Stonehenge replica, Kerr Arts and Cultural Center, Cailloux Theater, Kerr Wildlife Management Area. Stroll along the neat shops on Old Ingram Loop. Lots of things to do if you can get off the front porch or out of the Guadalupe River.
