2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom non-smoking home with mountain views
This charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in Old Colorado City was built in 1918. It has been updated and renovated to provide comfort to today's traveler without losing the appealing touches not to be found in more “modern” homes. With plenty of open living space for the whole family (including living room, dining room, kitchen, front porch and reading nook), this house easily accommodates 4 people (up to 6 utilizing the provided air mattresses). Colorfully decorated with light colors, vaulted ceilings and comfortable furniture, the house welcomes tired travelers in need of a getaway!
The property includes a fully fenced yard as well as off-the street parking in the back. The fully equipped kitchen includes all dishware, cutlery, pots and pans, small appliances (such as coffee maker, toaster, blender, etc.) and large appliances (refrigerator, oven and dishwasher) needed to accommodate any meal preparation. Linens and towels are also available for your use, as well as access to a washer and dryer on-site.
The house is perfectly situated to take advantage of all that Colorado Springs has to offer! It is within walking distance of Old Colorado City’s famous shopping and restaurants, but also easy access to grocery shopping and drugstores and I-25. Hiking is only minutes away by car as well as downtown Colorado Springs!
Property is non-smoking.

About Bryan Carlson
We are both teachers living in Fort Worth, TX and raising a family. We found Colorado Springs when we attended Colorado College over several summers to get our Masters' Degrees and fell in love with the city! We bought this house in our favorite area, Old Colorado City, and have spent the past summers enjoying, updating and decorating it!
Bryan Carlson purchased this House in 2009
Why Bryan Carlson chose Old Colorado City
We love the area. Walking to shops, concerts and parks is a great way to relax and slow down for a break. The unique touches in the house such as the vaulted ceilings, original push-button light switches, charming reading nook, open layout and just-the-right-size comfy-coziness!
What makes this House unique
The house has retained its original charm and has the benefit of an eclectic and vibrant neighborhood. We love that you can walk to so many activities, stores and restaurants! It's all right there, including I-25 if you need to go exploring via car! We couldn't ask for a better vacation home and we hope you love it too!

Excellent Location, great facility for the price
I ended up picking this home for the location and price, but was even more impressed when I arrived. About 50 feet away from his front porch is one of the most beautiful view of Pikes Peak. Better than the view in Manatou Springs. The location was amazing- great little shops in Colorado City and some of the best affordable restaurants in the city. Easy to get to Mannatou Springs or Fort Carson or Garden of the Gods.
Most importantly Bryan the owner is incredibly responsive. If you need help or advice he is around to assist.
The kitchen is huge and has lots of space and all sorts of cooking supplies. Would recommend bringing or renting a bicycle in warmer months. Very Satisfied with my stay.
One note - recommend coming into the parking place (which is incredibly convenient) from 18th Street , since the road is wider on that side.
Highly recommend for the location and price.
If you want a centrally located property in Colorado Springs in a quiet neighborhood this is the property. Just a short drive to Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, Cheyenne Canyon Park, Air Force Academy, rafting in Canon City, Old Colorado City, Royal Gourge, and whatever else you want to do. There's a grocery store, pharmacy, and coffee shops you can walk in 5 minutes or drive to 2 minutes. If you like BBQ, don't miss Front Range BBQ. Owner was very responsive and easy to deal with.
Calm and Beautiful place to Stay
The property was clean, well maintained and furnished with all appliances. The owner was quick to respond to our request and helpful. Over all - completely satisfied with the stay in this house
Quaint house, wonderfully set up
The house is lovely setup. It is great for 2 couples. The two bedrooms are wonderfully setup with the reading nook directly off one. The thing that surprised us the Most though was the deer walking through the yard in the morning. What a great way to be awoken.
It is a great place to go for quiet, relaxing getaways. Best of all, it is near to downtown Old Colorado City, Garden of the Gods, Manitu Springs, and other great destinations. We arrived with bikes and would have loved to use them but snow on the ground did not help.
Note: For this property, you must really park in back since you only have "keyed" access to the back door.
Lovely comfortable home.
This home suited our needs very well. It is spacious, light and airy, clean, comfortable, and convenient. The kitchen (and really the whole house) was very well equipped, and it was nice to have two bathrooms in a home this size. I would definitely stay here again if the chance arises. I'm not sure who the neighbors downstairs were, and they most certainly did not disturb us, but when I realized I could hear someone downstairs yawning, I worried a little about disturbing them.
We are so glad that you found everything you needed. You were staying in our home away from home and we have it equipped just the way we like it.
We are so glad that you had a pleasant stay and were considerate of the other guests as well.
We hope to see you back again!
We enjoyed our stay at this residence and have no real complaints at all. It is roomy, and had every amenity we needed for our family of five. It is a few blocks from a great shopping district, and is in a quiet, pleasant neighborhood. The only liability might be that there is a little too scant sleeping space for a larger family--it is better suited for 3 or 4 people. The air mattress for my son was defective, but Brian reimbursed us for a new one. Great reading library, and a well-lighted porch on which to read. It is an older house, but not decrepit at all--it has charm.
The unit has two queen sized beds and we had previously offered an inflatable mattress for additional capacity, but this has proven to be unsatisfactory and unreliable. We hope to find an appropriate sofa sleeper to match our décor and upgrade the living area to have a more reliable and comfortable sleeping space for overflow this summer. We are so happy you enjoyed the library and the reading space!
